Dear parents,
On this page you will see the grammar subjects, vocabulary and the activities that
were covered so far. To support the learning process, the foreign teacher does
activity hours. So learning becomes enjoyable for the students. At the end of the
activity hour the students create a project of their own. The lessons are conducted in
accordance with the new system that contributes to thinking skills.

ACTIVITIES
Creative Thinking Abilities
Our students wrote an acrostic poem by using “am – is – are”.
Our students created a body collage by cutting the different parts of the body pictures
in the magazines. They named the character that was created and described it by
using “to be”.
Activity Hours
This month, the fourth graders read a book called Zed the Magician. It was a
detective story where money was stolen from a WWF (World Wildlife Fund) student
charity. This topic from our reader inspired the group project about endangered
animals on the WWF website. The fourth graders picked their animals randomly and
then went to Google or the WWF website to find information and pictures. Each
student was given a different task and then in their groups they designed a poster
about their endangered animal.
Storytelling
This month we read the book, The Cat and Monkey’s Tail for
storytelling hour. The story was about a naughty and greedy cat
who stole a monkey’s tail. The cat gets the monkey to do lots of
things for him and then finally gives the tail back. As a class we
made a timeline of the events and wrote the story timeline in our
own words.

göreceksiniz. Öğrenimi kalıcı ve zevkli bir hale getirmek için yabancı öğretmenimiz
çeşitli aktiviteler yapar. Aktivite saatinin sonunda öğrenciler bir proje üretirler. İngilizce
derslerinde öğretim Düşünme Becerileri Sistemine göre yapıldığından aşamalı ve
sistematik bir biçimde uygulama yapılır.

AKTİVİTELER
Düşünme Becerileri Sentez etkinliği
Öğrencilerimiz “am – is – are” sözcüklerini alt alta yazarak bu sözcükleri içeren bir
akrostiş şiir yazdılar.
Öğrencilerimiz dergi ve gazetelerden kestikleri yüz bölümleri ile bir yüz kolajı ortaya
çıkardılar. Yarattıkları bu yüz kolajına bir isim vererek kim olduğunu “to be” yapısını
kullanarak anlattılar.
Aktivite Saatleri
Öğrencilerimizbir dedektif hikayesini anlatan“Zed the Magician” isimli kitabı okudular.
Öğrencilerimiz kitaplarındaki konudan yola çıkarak nesli tükenmekte olan hayvanlar
hakkında çeşitli araştırmalar yaptılar. Öğrenciler seçtikleribir hayvan ile ilgili farklı
farklı görevler alarak topladıkları bilgileri grup arkadaşları ile paylaştılar. Gruplar
aktivitelerini hazırladıkları posterleri sunarak tamamladılar.
Hikâye Anlatımı
Hikaye anlatımı saatimizde “The Cat and Monkey’s Tail” isimli bir hikaye okuduk.
Hikayedeki yaramaz ve aç gözlü kedi bir maymunun kuyruğunu çalar, ona istediği
birçok şeyi yaptırır ve sonra kuyruğunu geri verir. Öğrencilerimiz hikayedeki olayları
kronolojik sıraya dizerek kendi cümleleriyle anlattılar.
