DVB-MidiMod2 — 2×TS
The MidiMod2 is a small and compact modulator for DVB-S, -S2, -C, -T (2k and 8k mode) or
8VSB. Duo-DVB-C and Duo-DVB-T are also possible. Owing to the I/Q modulator, the signal
output is modulated directly on transmission frequency. To build up a complete digital video
transmitter with one or two video channels, you only have to connect one (or 2) MPEG2
encoder(s) to the transport stream inputs and, if necessary, a power amplifier to the SMA output.
For more video channels, a multiplexer can be connected directly to one or both transport stream
inputs. Thus, a construction of bigger systems is also possible. With a NIM connected, you can
build up converters from DVB-S/-C/-T to DVB-S/-C/-T. The MidiMod can also be used to
construct an Ethernet bridge.
All relevant settings can be changed in the menu while the MidiMod is running; rebooting is not
necessary. To change settings, you only have to connect a PC with terminal software (e.g.
HyperTerminal) to the RS232 interface of the MidiMod. Alternatively, you can change settings
using the keyboard (Display+Key v3).
