INVITATION
Dear Participants;
Residential national courses for the blood bank staff have been organized annually since 1997 in different main topics (from very basic to highly
sophisticated topics). One-day symposia with a standard curriculum have been organized since 1996 at hospitals in different parts of the country.
17 national courses, 7 national congress, 1 international congress (VIII. European ISBT Congress 2003; Istanbul/Turkey), 106 symposia and special
sessions at the national congresses of different clinical branches have been done so far in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Blood Banks
and Transfusion Society of Turkey.
It is our pleasure to invite you to the VIII. National Blood Banks & Transfusion Congress - to be held from 14 to 18 December 2015 in Antalya,
Maritime Pine Beach Hotel offers a unique combination of luxury accommodation and state of the art conference facilities.
Congresses will offer you to form an environment where the participants will find the most up-to-date scientific content, as well as great opportunities for networking and sharing their knowledge. Congresses will differ from the certificated courses as a scientific arena where the participants
have the ability to show their own works as poster and oral presentations.
Residential certificate course program for blood bank doctors will take place upon the congress. “Residential course” is for the participants who are
working in blood banks and transfusion but the ones who takes the course for the first time. The profession of the participants is not important.
Main course means; prepared contents with the main issues will be presented by different speakers.
The Main Course, aims to provide a platform for an initial training for those working in the field of standards. Content is the same as in previous years
so it is not recommended to participate for the second time in these courses.
For the new participants we definitely recommend to join us in this course.
The congress will provide a platform to recognize each other better, acquire vital information on scientific developments, to teach, to discuss, share
knowledge and network with other professionals in their fields.
Certificates will be issued the ones who completed the Congress and Course program.

NİLGÜN ACAR CONGRESS ABSTRACT AWARDS
The “Blood Banks and Transfusion Society of Turkey Dr.Nilgun Acar encouragement” Award will be assigned, to six selected abstract presenters in
recognition of their contribution, oral or poster presentations, by the Congress Scientific Committee. Case presentations will not be considered.
Candidates for the award winners, should request to join upon sending the abstracts "online". Abstracts prepared with more than one presenters,
winner will share the award. Award-winning presenters, will be announced at the gala ceremony and will be given the awards there.

Oral presentations
Oral presentation awards will be assigned by the Congress Scientific Committee from the selected Abstracts submitted to the congress. The Oral
Poster Sessions, scheduled for the second and third day of the congress, as total 2 hours session mentioned in the program. Allotted time to each
speaker is, 8 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for discussion, a total of 10 minutes.
The Congress Scientific Committee
Provide excellent visibility for posters, with prominent display in well-attended areas of the meeting.
Presenters benefit from the interactive critique, suggestions and encouragement from colleagues working in similar areas.
The hours specified in the program in the second and fourth days of the Congress at the beginning of a session Poster Discussion will be made with
the posters which are chosen by the Congress Scientific Committee with the participation of the chairman.
Posters 90 cm tall and 70 cm in width should be prepared in a way that can be easily read from at least one meter away.
Posters will be presented from 08:00 till 17:00 oclock in the days specified in the program and are required to remove suspended at 17.00. Posters
haven’t been removed after the specified time, wil be collected by the board.
If accepted and published posters will not be hanged, Organizing Committee will have the right to make the necessary announcement and
actions as these posters are not be submitted.

Abstracts will only be send online through the congress website (www.kmtd.org.tr)
Abstracts which will be sent directly by email, cargo or mail will not be accepted as submitted.
You can access to the "Online" abstract submission system via the congress website.
Deadline for Abstracts: October 30, 2015
Presented Abstracts at the Congress should be able to contribute to scientific progress and the results should give a message.
Abstract submissions sent via Internet must be considered the same way as printing typing rules. All authors are responsible from typing errors.

Abstract Guidelines
1. Abstracts will be sent "online" via abstract system. Therefore, the system will set the font size and type.
2. Do not use academic titles in the names.
3. Name, last name, title, institutions, address and the contact details of authors must be stated clearly.
4. Abstract titles should not be written by using all capital letters.(abbreviations are exceptional)
5. Authors can submit abstracts for oral presentations and poster presentations
6. Abstracts’ aim and purpose, materials and method and results should be instantly described. Abstracts should be written with under below
sub-headings;
abstract, aim & purpose, materials & methods results and conclusion
7. Abstracts (title, author names and institutions, except tables) should not be longer than 400 words.
The abstracts that; that have not been submitted by above given guidelines will be rejected.

institutions.
In order to accept the Abstracts, at least one submitter should be completed the conference registration.

must be sent together with copy of the Registration & Accommodation to the Blood Banks and Transfusion Society of Turkey by fax or email. Each
participant will receive a written confirmation.
CANCELLATION POLICY
All cancellations must be notified in writing to the Blood Banks and Transfusion Society of Turkey. Only written cancellations will be confirmed.
No refunds will be made for cancellations on and after October 23, 2015 even with a written report.
