Bizler, dünya gezegeninde yaşayan varlıklar olarak hassas bir dönemden
geçiyoruz. Sadece insanlar değil, yaşayan tüm canlılar zorlu, buhranlı,
sancılı, kaygılı, çelişkili, sorgulayan ve bunun sonucunda doğanın
dengesindeki özü geri isteyen bir geçiş döneminde.
Bu, hem birlikte hissettiğimiz ve deneyimlediğimiz bir dönem; hem de son
derece öznel olarak deneyimleyip algıladığımız bir geçiş.
Medeniyetin bilinen veya tahmin edilen en eski dönemlerinden beri
insanoğlu ve dünya gezegeni hem birlikte hem de ayrı ayrı böyle birçok geçiş
dönemleri geçirmiş ve bunun sonucunda ya medeniyetler evrilmiş, gelişmiş
ya da yıkılmış ve erimiştir.
Yılan sembolü, yeryüzündeki hemen hemen her kültürde yeri olan bir
semboldür. Hem pozitif hem de negatif temsilleri ve anlamları olduğundan
belki de dualiteyi en iyi tanımlayabilecek sembollerden biridir.
İnsanlar vicdanlarıyla eş doğrultuda diğer insanları, diğer canlıları, dünyayı,
evreni, kosmosu ve kâinatı algılarlar. Algılayabildikleriyle de etrafındakileri
şekillendirir ve çeşitli davranışlar geliştirirler.
Aynı Yin-Yang sembolünün temsil ettiği gibi iyi ve kötü iç içe geçer ve ne
yönden baktığımıza göre anlamlar sürekli değişir, devinir ve yeniden üretilir.
Bu açıdan yılan sembolünü yaşadığımız zorlu geçiş dönemini
anlamlandıracak, bize kadim çağlardan hikâyeler anlatacak ve döngüsel
zamanı tekrar hatırlatacak geniş kapsamlı bir sembol olarak görüyorum.
Görünenin ışığında görünmeyeni; algılanın ardında saklı duran
algılanamayanı aralayacak bir kapı olarak seçiyorum.
SEEING THE UNSEEN
IN THE LIGHT OF
THE SEEN
We, as the living creatures on Earth, are going through a delicate phase.
Not only humans, but all living creatures are in a difficult, critical, painful,
anxious, contradictory, incredulous transition phase seeking the entity in
the natural balance.
This is a phase we all feel and experience, a transition we all perceive and
again experience, on an extremely subjective level.
Since the earliest known or presumed eras of civilization, both humanity
and Earth have gone through many transitions alike, separately as well as
simultaneously; resulting in either a civilizations evolution and progress, or
destruction and extinction.
The snake as a symbol is present in almost every culture on the planet.
Having both positive and negative representations and meanings, perhaps it
is one of the best symbols to define duality.
Humans perceive other humans, other beings, the World, the universe, the
cosmos and the macrocosm in conjunction with their own conscience. They
form those around them and develop various behavior patterns upon their
perception.
Same as the Yin-Yang symbols representation, the good and the evil
intertwines and meanings alter, process and reproduce depending on our
aspect.
In that respect, I see the snake as a far-reaching symbol to interpret this
rough transition period to tell us stories of ancient times and to remind us
time’s cycle. I choose the snake as a gateway to see the unseen, in the light
of the seen; to perceive the imperceptible, hidden behind the perceived.
