Plato Sanat’taki Performans Belleği sergisi 8 Türk
performans sanatçısını biraya getiriyor. Bu
sanatçılardanbazıları kendilerini veya başkalarını
video performanslarında kullanırken, bir kısmı da
canlı performans temsillerini sunmaktadır. Türkiye’de
sosyolojik sebeplerle performans sanatının çok gelişmiş
olduğu söylenemez, bu yüzden de Plato Sanat’taki
Performans Belleği sergisi bu disiplinin gelişimini
desteklemeyi hedefliyor.
8 sanatçının eserlerini sunmanın yanısıra sergi aynı
zamanda performans sanatının kaydedilmesi, sunumu ve
arşivlenmesi üzerinde de durmaktadır. Bu yüzden video
ve fotoğraf gibi geleneksel yöntemlerin yanısıra
performanslar sırasında kullanılan türlü objeler
de sergilenmektedir. Performans Belleği sergisi bu
bağlamda herşeyin temsili ve sembolik olduğu sanatsal
bir tecrübe yaratmaya çalışarak canlı performanslardan
bilhassa kaçınmaktadır. Neticede ‘beyaz küp’ içinde
‘gerçek hayat’ yoktur. Bu yüzden de Performans Belleği
sergisi kendi temsili ve sanatsal özgünlüğü bağlamında
performans sanatının sunum biçimine odaklanmaktadır.

The current exhibition at Plato Sanat reviews the state
of performance art in Turkey by bringing together eight
artists, of whom some are important representatives of
life-performance while others use performatif acts of
themselves or other people in their video works.
In Turkey, performance art is rather under-developed
due to art historical and sociological reasons. This is
the reason why Performing Memory wants also to support
the discussion of performance art in order to propel
its development.
Besides presenting great artists, the show also
discusses the recording, presentation and archiving
of performance art. That is why next to traditional
ways of its documentation via video, and photography,
relicts and objects that were used during a performance
are exhibited. In this context, Performing Memory
critically reflects upon the possibility of causing
an immediate experience and authenticity of the
artistic moment in an exhibition, where everything is
represented and symbolic. There is no real life in the
white cube. That is why consequently the show at Plato
Sanat neglects any live performance, and solely focuses
on its storage for discussing the mediation of artistic
authenticity in the context of its representation
in an exhibition.

Burak Delier
Burak Delier 1977 yılında Adapazarı’nda doğdu.
İstanbul’da yaşıyor ve çalışıyor. Koleksiyonerin
Dileği (2012) projesinde, sanat koleksiyoncusu
Saruhan Doğan’ın arzuladığı bir sanat yapıtını hiç
müdahalede etmeden gerçekleştirdi. Davetli olduğu
2010 Taipei Bienali’nde de, bienal kurumunun işleyişi
ve eleştirel sanat potansiyelini, karar sahiplerinden
stajyerlerine kadar kurumun farklı katmanlarını
anket yöntemiyle ölçerek sundu. 2013’de Yıldız
Teknik Üniversitesi Sanat ve Tasarım Fakültesi’nde
doktorasını tamamlayan Delier, çalışmalarını sanat,
iş, özgürleşme kavramlarına yoğunlaşarak devam
ettiriyor. Başlıca kişisel sergileri; Özgürlüğün
Senaryosu Yoktur, İniva, Londra (2014), Kendinden
memnun, kolayca metalaşabilen anarşist jestlerde
bulunmaktansa, sanat üzerine deneysel araştırmalar
yürütmenin daha anlamlı ve yıkıcı olabileceğinin
ayırdına varıyorum, Outlet Sanat Galerisi,
İstanbul (2011).
1977 Born in Adapazarı living and working in
İstanbul. Recently he realized two solo exhibitions
questioning the notion of “freedom”, “Play your
part and the script will follow” at Pilot Gallery,
Istanbul (2013) and “Freedom has no script” at Iniva,
London (2014). He explores the notions of freedom,
spontaneity, improvisation and creativity, believing
that freedom is not the outcome of a pre-determined
script, but is created from incertitude, suspense
and desire. He participated in group exhibitions
such as, “Unrest of Form” Vienna, (2013), “How Much
Fascism?” BAK, Utrecht (2012), 2008 and 2010 Taipei
Biennial, 2007 Istanbul Biennial. Delier finished
his PhD in the Art and Design Department at Yıldız
Teknik University. His writings on art and politics
have been published in magazines such as Mesele,
Natama, Sıcak Nal, Siyahi and Art-ist. Delier’s solo
exhibitons include Freedom has no script, Iniva,
London, (2014). I slowly come to discover that it
is more meaningful and subversive to engage in
experimental investigations on art than carrying
out some self-content, easily commoditized anarchist
gestures, Gallery Outlet, İstanbul (2011).
Nezaket Ekici
Solo exhibitions, amongst others, include
Einzelausstellung, Alles, Was Man, Besitzt,
Besitzt Auch Uns, Haus Am Waldsee, Berlin, Germany
(2015); Islamic Chapel at the Stadtische Galerie,
Ostfildern Germany; Personal Map, to be continued...
in cooperation with Marta Herford, De Bond,
Cultuurcentrum, Brugge, Belgium; and KlangKunstBuhne
at Universitat der Kunste Berlin – UdK, Berlin,
Germany (all in 2013). Ekici is the recipient of
numerous awards, including project grants from the
Goethe Institute in Ghana (2012), Thessaloniki (2011)
and Tbilissi (2009). In 2014 she participated in
Neighbours – Contemporary Narratives from Turkey and
Beyond, a 10-year anniversary exhibition at Istanbul
Modern. Her work can be found in both public and
private collections, including, the Montréal
Museum of Fine Arts, Montréal, Canada; the Culturale
Pamplona, Spain; the Foundation Frances, Senils,
France; The Koç Foundation Contemporary Art
Collection, Istanbul, Turkey; Kunstmuseum Heidenhelm,
Heidenhelm, Germany; MARTa Herford, Herford,Germany;
Proje4L/Elgiz Museum of Contemporary Art, Istanbul,
Turkey; and the Artist Pension Trust, New York City,
NY, USA. Ekici studied under Marina Abramovic at the
Hochschule fur Bildende Kunste Braunschweig, from
where she received her Degree in Fine Arts in 2003
and MFA Degree in 2004.
Didem Erk
Didem Erk İstanbul’da yaşıyor ve çalışıyor.
Sanatçının metin, video, buluntu nesneler, performans
ve mekana ile etkileşimli enstalasyonları aracılığı
ile ürettiği işleri hafıza, sınır nosyonu, dil ve
mekanın politik ve şiirsel yönleri üzerine araştırır.
Erk, dili, adeta fiziksel bir yer ve her tür deneyime
açılabilen bir kapı olarak değerlendirerek, dilin
teşkil ettiği mekanı ve orada ne olduğunu inceler.
Başlıca karma sergileri; Uyuma Dayan!, DEPO, İstanbul
(2015), Pop-up Sergi, KargaArt, İstanbul (2015).
Didem Erk lives and works in Istanbul. She produces
texts, videos, found objects, performances, and
site-specific installations to explore memory, the
notion of border, the language, as well as the
politic-poetic aspects of space. Considering language
as almost a physical place or a door that can open
up to all kinds of experience, Erk investigates the
space that language is, and what it holds. Erk’s
mixed exhibitions include Stay with Me!, DEPO,
Istanbul, (2015), Pop-Up Exhibition, KArgaArt,
Istanbul, (2015).
Genco Gülan
Genco Gülan resim, heykel, performans ve yeni medya
gibi kavramsal çağdaş sanat yapıtlarının tümünü
‘fikir sanatı’ olarak tarif eden bir sanatçı ve
teorisyendir. Yapıtları Centre Pompidou, ZKM, Pera,
MAM Rio de Janeiro ve La Triennale Milano gibi önemli
müzelerde sergilenmiştir. Gülan Steirishes Herbst,
Ars Electronica, Mediaterra, prog-me, Accente, Balkan
Art, Gezici Tahran ve Bonn Bienali gibi festivallere
katılmıştır. Performansları İstanbul Tiyatro,
Xchange PAP Tel Aviv, Wunderbar New Castle, Fringe
New York, Moving Silence Atina ve Accente Duisbug
gibi önemli festivallerde sergilenmiştir. Yapıtları
Rhizome.org at the New Museum, İstanbul Modern,
Museum Oswald, Davis Museum, Elgiz, Baksı ve Selanik
Devlet Çağdaş Sanat Müzesi daimi koleksiyonlarına
girmiştir. Sanatçı halen Mimar Sinan ve Boğaziçi
Üniversite’lerinde ders vermektedir.
Genco Gülan is a multiple media contemporary
conceptual artist, who defines his practices in
painting, sculpture, performance and new media
as idea art. His works are presented in museums
such as; Centre Pompidou Paris, Pera, ZKM, MAM
Rio de Janeiro and La Triennale di Milano. He
participated to festivals such as; Steirishes Herbst,
Ars Electronica, Mediaterra, prog-me, Balkan Art
Novi Sad, Roaming Tahran and Bonn Biennales. His
performances are presented at Istanbul Theatre, PAP
Tel Aviv, Wunderbar New Castle, Fringe New York,
Moving Silence Athens and Accente Festival Duisbug.
He is in collections such as Rhizome.org at the New
Museum, Istanbul Modern, Elgiz, Baksı, Museum Oswald,
Davis Museum, and State Museum of Contemporary Art,
Thessaloniki. Currently he teaches at Mimar Sinan
Academy and Bogazici University.
Erdal İnci
Erdal İnci 1983’de Ankara’da doğdu. İstanbul
ve Berlin’de yaşıyor. 2005 yılında Hacettepe
Üniversitesi Resim Bölümü’nde lisans eğitimini
tamamlamasının ardından sokak sanatı, fotoğraf,
video ve dijital sanat gibi farklı disiplinlerde
üretmeye devam etti.
Hareket, zaman, ritm, tekrar
gibi kavramları temel alan çalışmaları hipnotik
etkiler taşır ve alternatif bir performans anlayışı
önerir. 2009 yılında İstanbul’a yerleşti ve “Hareket
Örüntüleri” isimli video serisine başladı. İnci,
bu seride ürettiği videoları 2012 yılında optimize
ederek GIF formatına dönüştürdü ve blogunda
yayınlamaya başladı.
Blog içerdiği özgün GIF
anlayışıyla Die Zeit, Huffington Post, The Creators
Project, Wired, CNN ,Canal +, Deutsche Welle vb. gibi
TV ve editöryel yayınlarda yeraldı. İnci ilk kişisel
sergisi “Hareket Örüntüleri”ni Bauart Gallery’de 2013
sonunda İstanbul’da gerçekleştirdi.
Erdal Inci was born in Ankara in 1983. He is based
in Istanbul and Berlin. He studied painting in
Hacettepe University and since then he kept working
with different mediums such as painting, street art,
photography, video and digital art. His art based on
the concepts like movement, repetition, time, pattern
and performance has hypnotic effects and suggests
a genuine way of performance. He moved to Istanbul
in 2009 and started the video project “Patterns
of Motion”. In 2012 Inci turned those video pieces
into GIF format and started to post in his blog :
erdalinci.tumblr.com His GIF works have been featured
in several online editorial art blogs and press such
as: Die Zeit Online, Wired, The Creators Project, The
Huffington Post, Canal +, CNN, and Deutsche Welle. He
made his first solo exhibition “Patterns of Motion”
in Istanbul Bauart Gallery in 2013. His second solo
exhibition “The Mass Ornament” took place in Berlin
Michael Schultz Gallery -with the contribution of BAU
Istanbul-Berlin Art Bridge Project- in March 2015.
Hacer Kıroğlu
Hacer Kıroğlu (1985, İstanbul)
2008 yılında Marmara Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar
Fakültesi Resim Bölümü Lisans programından mezun
oldu. 2009 yılında aynı kurumda Yüksek Lisans
programına başladı. 2012 yılında, Viyana Güzel
Sanatlar Akademisi’ nde değişim programı kapsamında
eğitim gördü. Türkiye’ de pek çok grup sergisinde
çalışmaları yer alan sanatçı ayrıca, Almanya, Rusya,
Belçika ve İsviçre’de de uluslar arası sergilerde
yer aldı.
Hacer Kıroğlu (b. 1985, İstanbul)
She received her BFA from Marmara University
Faculty of Fine Arts in 2008. She continued her MFA
from Marmara University Institute of Fine Arts. İn
2012, She studied under the Exchange Program at the
Institute of Fine Arts in Vienna . She has exhibited
in Germany, Russia, Belgium and Switzerland in
addition to a number of group exhibitions in Turkey.
Burçak Konukman
Ankara Anadolu Güzel Sanatlar lisesi Resim
bölümünden mezun olduktan sonra lisans eğitimini
Anadolu Üniversitesi Görsel Sanatlar Eğitimi Grafik
Anasanat dalında tamamlayan Burçak Konukman yüksek
lisansına İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi Kültür Yönetimi
programında devam etmektedir. 2015 Bahar dönemi
içerisinde Erasmus + kapsamında Almanya’da Hildesheim
Üniversitesinde Kültür Bilimi bölümünde exchange
öğrenci olarak çalışmalarına devam etmektedir.
Burçak Konukman çok disiplinli video ve fotograf
yerleştirmeleri ile tanınan ve canlı performanslar
yapan farklı tür mekanlara site specific
müdahalelerde bulunan bir sanatçıdır. Almanya
merkezli IPA(Uluslar arası Performans Sanatları
Derneği) İstanbul kurucusu ve eş başkanıdır. IPA Yaz
kampları ve Genç Performans Sanatları Platformu’nun
İstanbul’da gerçekleşen 2012,2013 ve 2014
edisyonlarının sanat direktörüdür.
After graduation from Ankara Anatolian High School
of Fine Arts Painting Department Burçak Konukman
completed his bachelor degree on education of
visual arts at Eskişehir Anadolu University. In
2009 He is started MA at Bilgi University, cultural
management and he is taking part at Hildesheim
University and studying Culture Science in 2015
summer semester for erasmus + exhange program.
Burçak Konukman known as his multidisciplinar video
and photo installations with live performances and
site specific interventions. He is co-founder and
co-director of Germany based İPA(international
Performance Association) İstanbul and he is Artistic
Director of festival which took place in İstanbul
called Platform Young Performance Artists ,2012,2013
and 2014 editions.

Ferhat Özgür, MoMA PS1-New York, Marabouparken-İsveç,
Mekan68-Viyana, Bernhard Bischoff and Partner-Bern,
Amerikan Hastanesi ‘Operation Room’-İstanbul, Yapı
Kredi Kazım Taşkent Sanat Galerisi-İstanbul, Galeri
Nev-Ankara, Siyah-Beyaz Sanat Galerisi-Ankara’da
kişisel sergiler düzenledi. 10.İstanbul Bienali,
6.Berlin Bienali, 1.Mardin Bienali gibi etkinliklere
katılan sanatçının yapıtları aralarında Malmö Modern
Sanat Müzesi, İstanbul Modern, Salzburg Modern
Sanat Müzesi, Viyana Modern Sanat Müzesi, Centre
George Pompidou-Paris, Mattress Factory Museum of
Art-Pittsburgh, Fondazione Sandretto Re RebaudengoTorino, Kunsthalle Winterthur-İsviçre gibi mekanlarda
sergilendi. Sanatçı halen Yeditepe Üniversitesi’nde
öğretim üyesidir.

Biennial, the 10thIstanbul Biennial and 1st Mardin
Biennial. His work has been exhibited in numerous

Istanbul Modern, Salzburg Modern Art Museum,
Vienna Museum of Modern Art, Centre George PompidouParis, Mattress Factory Museum of Art-Pittsburgh,
Casino Luxembourg forum d’art Contemporain,

Yeditepe University.
