Department of Tourism Management
First in the field of T-M 1
(In National University Examination)
The Department of Tourism Management,
Faculty of Tourism in Izmir Katip Celebi University
accepted the students with the highest score
“351.403” in the field of TM-1 in 2013 in Turkey.
Prof. Dr. Cengiz Demir, emphasizing that there is a
significant share of team work and trust provided
within the faculty as well as the academic staff
majority of whom having international graduate
diplomas and publications for the success of Faculty
of Tourism, told that Faculty of Tourism, Izmir Katip
Celebi University became the first and only tourism
faculty in the field of Tourism Management in Turkey
which has undergraduate, graduate and doctorate
programs in 100 % English with the approval of
Tourism Management Doctorate program %100 in
English by Higher Education Board. We are proud of
managing to reach our goals in a short time like one
year. In a short period of time, we became an
international faculty by signing Erasmus Exchange
Mobility Program agreements with 18 distinguished
European universities, student and academic staff
exchange program agreement with Bishop’s
University from Canada, becoming member of
international tourism organizations such as
AMFORTH from France and ATLAS from
Netherlands. We managed to success this by
employing the best academic staff in their field.

Pacific Conference CHRIE (Council

Restaurant
and
Institutional Education, which was
held in People’s Republic of China.
This research paper was chosen as
the best paper among the 135
academic papers presented by many
university
participants
from
European countries as well as
tourism researchers from countries
such as UK, USA, Malaysia, China
and Australia etc.
