UTB yurt içi ve yurt dışında havalimanları;
Duty Free mağazalarında Atatürk Havalimanı başta
olmak üzere Medine, Gürcistan, Makedonya ve
Salalah havalimanlarında tüketiciyle buluşmaktadır.
Aynı zamanda İngiltere, Çin, Amerika, Hollanda,
Polonya gibi birçok ülkeye horeca grubuna yönelik
ihracat yapmaktadır.
UTB meets with consumers at domestic and
international airports; at Duty Free stores mainly in
Atatürk Airport and Medina, Georgia, Macedonia
and Salalah airports. It also exports to horeca group
in many countries like UK, China, USA, Netherlands
and Poland.

tesisimiz ISO 22000, ISO 9001 ve Helal Sertifikası’na
sahiptir. Loqum ve Harem’s Delight markalarımız ile
41 farklı çeşit ürünümüzün hepsi birinci kalite
kuruyemiş, şeker ve su ile üretilmektedir.
Our facility produces 90 tonnes of turkish delight per
month with our 133 employees and is awarded ISO
22000, ISO 9001 and Halal Certificates. Our Loqum
and Harem’s Delight brands and 41 different variety
of other products are all manufactured with first class
dry fruits and nuts, sugar and water.
Lokumun Tarihçesi
The History of Turkish Delight
Lokum, su, şeker, nişasta, isteğe bağlı çeşni maddeleri, kuruyemiş
veya kurutulmuş meyveler ve benzeri maddelerin ilavesiyle tekniğine
uygun olarak hazırlanan geleneksel bir Türk tatlısıdır.
Turkish delight or lokum is a traditional Turkish confection prepared
using a special technique with water, sugar, starch, optional flavors,
nuts or dried fruits, as well as similar ingredients.
Daha önceleri bal ya da pekmez ve un bileşimi ile yapılan lokumun
17. yüzyılda ‘kelle şekeri’ olarak bilinen rafine şeker ile özellikle
nişastanın bulunup ülkeye getirilmesiyle yapımı ve lezzeti de
değişmiştir. Lokumun görünüşü, lokumun tipine özgü ve verildiği
şekli korumalı; dokusu elâstik yapıda olmalı; parmakla bastırıldıktan
sonra eski şeklini alabilmeli; ağızda yumuşak ve kaygan olarak
hissedilmelidir. Bu yeni lezzet günümüze kadar gelmiş, bayram ve
diğer özel günlerin vazgeçilmez ikramı olmuştur. Günümüzde lokum,
özellikle Türk kahvesinin yanında servis edilerek aperitif tatlı olma
özelliğini uluslararası boyuta taşımıştır.
Turkish delight was previously made with a mixture of flour and honey
or molasses. In the 17th century, when refined sugar known as sugar
loaves and starch were brought to the country, Turkish delight’s
production and taste changed. As for its shape, Turkish delight must
be specific to its type and it must maintain its shape, its texture must
be elastic so that it can spring back to its original shape after being
pressed with a finger, and it must be soft and silky smooth in the
mouth. This new confection survived to the present day, becoming an
essential treat for festivals and other special occasions. Today, Turkish
delight is internationally recognized as a sweet appetizer served
particularly with Turkish coffee.
Lokumun Osmanlıca rahat ul-hulküm yani boğaz rahatlatan
kelimesinden türediği rivayet edilir. 15. yüzyıldan beri Anadolu’da
bilinmekle birlikte, özellikle 17. yüzyılda Osmanlı İmparatorluğu sınırları
içinde yaygınlaşan lokum, Avrupa’da bir İngiliz seyyah vasıtasıyla
‘Turkish Delight’ adıyla 18. yüzyılda tanınmaya başlamıştır. İki asırdan
bu yana lokum üretimini başarıyla gerçekleştiren duayenler, lokumun
lezzetine lezzet katarak bu efsanevi tatlının günümüze kadar gelmesini
sağlamıştır.
Farklı yöresel tatlarla da harmanlanan lokumlar, damak tadını
bilenlerin vazgeçilmez lezzetlerinden olmuştur. Lokumun tarihçesine
bakıldığında, bu tadın eski dönemlerden bugüne kadar hayran
kitlesinin artarak çoğaldığı görülmektedir. Günümüzde, uluslararası
boyutta nam salan lokum, özellikle ülkemizi ziyarete gelen turistlerin
favori lezzetlerinden olmayı başarmıştır.
Cakes&Bakes üretim tesisinde üretilen lokumlar BTA’nın adını dünyaya
duyurmayı sürdürüyor. Tesisimizde üretilen lokumlar Türkiye’nin lokum
üretiminin %6’sını karşılıyor. 48 ayrı çeşit üretilen lokumlar, ABD başta
olmak üzere bir çok ülkeye de ihraç ediliyor.
It is rumored that Turkish delight is a word coined from the Ottoman
Turkish word rahat ul-hulküm, which means throat soothing. Although
it had been known in Anatolia since the 15th century, it became
widespread within the Ottoman Empire in the 17th century in particular.
A British traveler in the 18th century made lokum famous in Europe
under the name “Turkish Delight”. Master confectioners have been
successfully producing Turkish delight for two centuries and made
sure that this legendary sweet survived to the modern day by adding
more flavour of Turkish delight.
Blended with different local flavors, Turkish delight became one of
the essential tastes for gastronomes. When we look at the history of
Turkish delight, we see that this dessert gained a gradually increasing
number of fans from the past to the present. Turkish delight, which
today has international fame, managed to become one of the favorite
tastes, especially among tourists visiting our country.
Turkish delights produced at Cakes & Bakes production plant continue
to make BTA’s mark in the world. Turkish delights produced at our
plant meet 6% of Turkey’s Turkish delight production. Produced in
48 different varieties, Turkish delight is exported to several countries
including the USA in particular.
