1. CREATIVE THINKING SKILLS – ACTIONS
During Unit 2, the children learnt the words of some furniture and revised the action verbs. To improve their creative
thinking skills, we did some activities based on action verbs. They chose one of the objects. That object came to life. They drew it,
wrote what it could do in a speech bubble and colored it.
2. CREATIVE THINKING SKILLS – FEELING PLANETS
During Unit 4, the children learnt the words of some feelings and emotions. To improve their creative thinking skills, we did
some activities based on those feelings and emotions. They chose two or three of the feelings/emotions they learnt. They drew
their “feeling planet”. First, they decided on the shape of it. Second, they gave a name to it. Third, they thought of the dominant
feelings on the planet. Then they drew and colored it however they liked.
3. WEATHER AND CLOTHES
During Unit 3, the children learnt the words of weather and clothes suitable for those weather conditions. They were given
paper dolls in an envelope full of weather type pictures and clothes. In pairs they put their clothes on the paper dolls according to
the weather condition in their envelope. Then they presented their paper dolls to their friends. The others tried to guess what the
weather was like by looking at the clothes.
4. ACTIVITY HOUR: FOOD PYRAMIDS
In the beginning week of April we had an activity hour lesson called Food Pyramids. The children cut out food or drink
pictures from magazines. In the class, they drew a big triangle to indicate the food groups: meat and proteins, vegetables, fruits,
grains and rice, milk and dairy and sweet and fats. They stuck the pictures on the correct group on the pyramid. Then, they
described their food pyramids in a short paragraph.
5. STORY TELLING HOUR: BAA BOOM!
For our story telling lesson, we read the big book called “Baa Boom”. It’s a story about farm animals and a balloon. As
you can guess by the title of the story the balloon eventually goes “baaaa boooom”! The students were given the new words
first as flashcards and then we listened to the story. As a group we read the story out loud to practice our pronunciation.
6. READING HOUR
After finishing our “Character Scrapbook”, we made beautiful maps with three important settings and described what happened in
each place.
Then we prepared a poster for the story we were reading. We thought of a tagline and wrote our own reviews for the story we read.
We recently finished our project called “Square a Story!”. We had a chance to see the sequencing in the story and wrote 4 important
parts in the story.
Next we will be working on “Emotional Character”. We will read our books and find at least 4 places the main character feels something
different. We will map it out and describe why the character feels that way and add how we would feel in their situation.

2. Dönemin bitmesine çok az bir süre kaldı. Öğrencilerimiz kalan süreyi verimli bir
şekilde değerlendirmeye devam etmektedirler. 2. Dönem itibari ile daha çok üretime
dayalı yani konuşma ve yazma becerilerini geliştirmeye yönelik aktivitelere ağırlık
vermekteyiz. Bizlere göstermeiş olduğunuz desteğe tekrar teşekkür ederiz.

AKTİVİTELER
1. Düşünme Becerileri – Sentez Basamağı – Canlanan Eşyalar
Ünite 2 boyunca öğrencilerimiz evde kullanılan bazı eşyaların isimlerini öğrenip
hareket bildiren eylemleri tekrar ettiler. Düşünme becerilerindeki yaratıcılıklarını
geliştirebilmek için bazı aktiveler yaptık. Öğrencilerimiz öğrendikleri eşyalardan bir tanesini
seçip bu eşyanın canlandığını düşündüler. Onu çizdiler, boyadılar ve o eşyanın neyi
yapabildiğini bir konuşma balonunun içine yazdılar.
2. Düşünme Becerileri – Sentez Basamağı – Duygu Gezegenleri
Ünite 4 boyunca, öğrencilerimiz bazı duyguların isimlerini öğrendiler. Düşünme
becerilerindeki yaratıcılıklarını geliştirebilmek için bazı aktiveler yaptık. Öğrenciler
öğrendikleri duygulardan 2 ya da 3 tanesini seçip kendi duygu gezegenlerini oluşturdular.
Sonra bu gezegene bir isim ve yaş belirlediler. Daha sonra istedikleri gibi boyayıp
gezegenlerini tamamladılar.
3. Düşünme Becerileri – Uygulama – Kâğıt Bebekler
Ünite 3 boyunca, öğrencilerimiz hava durumunu ve kıyafetleri öğrendiler. Öğrencilere
bir zarf içinde kâğıt bebekler verildi. Öğrenciler zarfın içinden çıkan hava durumuna göre
bebekleri uygun kıyafetlerle giydirdiler. Sonra arkadaşlarına sundular. Arkadaşları bebeklerin
hangi hava durumuna göre giyinmiş olabileceklerini tahmin ettiler.
4. Aktivite Saati – Yiyecek Piramidi
Nisan ayının başında aktivite saatimiz gerçekleşmiştir. Bu aktivite saatinde
öğrencilerimiz kendi yemek piramitlerini oluşturdular. Önceden kesmiş oldukları yiyecek ve
içecek resimlerini boş ve büyük yiyecek üçgeninin içinde doğru kategorilerin altlarına
yapıştırdılar. Sonra bu piramidi tanıtan bir yazı yazıp arkadaşlarına sundular.
5. Hikâye Anlatımı – Baa Boom
Hikâye anlatımı dersimizde büyük kitaplarımızdan “Baa Boom” adlı kitabımızı okuduk.
Hikâye çiftlik hayvanları ve bir balonla ilgiliydi. Başlığından da tahmin edebileceğiniz gibi
hikâyenin sonunda balonumuz “baaaaa boooom” diyerek patladı. Öğrencilerimiz önce
hikâyede geçen yeni kelimeleri öğrendiler daha sonra hikâyeyi dinlediler. Sonra grup olarak
hikâyemizi okuyarak telafuzumuzu geliştirdik.
6. Okuma Saati
“Character Scrapbook”umuzu bitirdikten sonra hikâyede geçen üç önemli yer
hakkında haritalar hazırladık ve bahsedilen yerlerde neler olduğunu anlattık.
Sonrasında, okuduğumuz hikâye ile ilgili bir poster hazırladık. Bir slogan belirledik ve
okuduğumuz kitap hakkında yorumlarımızı yazdık.
“Hikâyeyi Karele!” isimli projemizi bitirdik. Bu proje sayesinde hikâyedeki olay
sıralamasını görme şansımız oldu. Hikâyede neler olduğuna dair 4 önemli bölümü yazdık.
Sonrasında yapacağımız proje “Duygusal Karakter” ismindedir. Okuyacağımız kitaptaki
ana karakterin farklı hissettiği 4 olaya bakacağız ve “Biz onun yerinde olsaydık ne
hissederdik?” diye düşüneceğiz.
