As the day dies in Hannover, the party scene awakens to life. In the
discotheques and clubs, musical diversity is manifest in rock, house
or hip-hop. Among the wealth of pubs, cocktail bars and all-night

People tend to head in the direction of Raschplatz in the evenings,

About two million visitors come to Hannover every year to enjoy the

the “Steinhude Festive Weekend”, with a dreamlike backcloth of

drivers compete against each other every year on souped-up
tractors. Everywhere in the Region there are delightful spots where
the traditions of the old farming communities are still upheld. As
one of Germany’s biggest onion-growing areas, the district of Uetze
celebrates a special festival dedicated to this crop. And the historic
Free Shooting competition, which evokes the peasants‘ and citizens‘
militias of the Middle Ages, has been celebrated in Wennigsen, on
the edge of the Deister Hills, for 150 years now.

An animal safari round the world
in the Kirchrode district of Hannover was originally Duke John
Frederick’s private hunting ground; now, as a green oasis full of
ancient oaks, chestnuts and hornbeams, it is a popular destination
