equipment . Therefore, there are no procedures prepared for use of supplies provided
In case such example arouses this procedure shall be reviewed in the future.

BEARINGCLEARANCE
MEASUREMENT
ON RUDDERSAND PROPELLERSHAFTS
The tail shaft bearing wear - down measurement is taken with feeter gauge which is used
to measure the clerance between the shaft and the bearing. On each propeller shaft, two
seperate sections for measurement are taken, one area is taken at the strut and the other,
is taken at the stern tube. Four reading are obtained from each area. ( Fore , aft , port , starboard )
All measurements number of accessible points, two readings one ton top and the other on
bottom , shall be taken . The rudder bearing wear down measurement is taken with a feeler
gauge , which is used to measure the wear down between the rudderpost and bearing.
Four readings are obtained from each f1Jdder. ( Fore, aft , port , starboard )
All measurements are taken on the nearest appoximate basis, in milimeters.

E ) OPERATION OF VIDEO AS WELL AS STILL PICTURE WORK IN WATER
Before work be checkedall system
All cables to be free from damage.
All connectors to be from foreign materials
All power supplies to be in accordance ( Manuracturer's requirements)
Voltage current and frequency to be stabilized.
All compenents camera, light monitors and recorder to be confirmed working order
according to individual maintenance and preparation programs.
Power on with light intensity setting to aminimum.
Stable pictures with correct camera orientation.
Test recording and playback to test vid~ audio.
The client mav have the videotape and stili water photographs to enable the client to assess
the situation Therefore as much information in as logical and clear a form as possiblemust
be provided by video inspection to avoid any possibility of confusion

The location of the camera must always be establshed and kept in one place as far as
possible. The camera should not be pushed up to the subject and then the recording started.
The recording should then be started just before the subject is reached allowing a general
overall view of the area and then the camera should be moved into the subject with the
recorder stili running.

SURVEY
For method of operation
Work out the order of photography and make out suitable marker boards or idents.
At each location, position the idents at the bottom of the subject and ensure theyare
to both the subject and camera.
Ensure shot is reprensentative and at a correct angle.
Use stand off probes if necessary.
Ensure no obstruction in the field of wiev bubbles or umbilical.
Take more than one shot if coverage is in doubt.
Oblique photographs of sacriticial anodes should be taken from either end

Typical dose up inspection areas indudes weld photography suspected damage areas or
specific components. For weld photography 35 mm standard lens or digital machine lens is
more preferable being coupled with all the photography machine dese up kit.
A tape measure mav be placed adjacent to the damage occurrence.
For stili picture work procedure deseribes the use of photography in support of
underwater inspection.
The diver shall possess knowledge on underwater photography and the use of camera
equipment

OPERATION OF UNDERWATERCOMMUNICATIONSYSTEM
OTC - AQUACOMMK-2 - Da model wire diver phone is an underwater intercom system between
a surface tender and one or two diyers.
it is a self-contained, battery operated unit.
Designed for rugged use on board ship but should be treated same as with any other electronic
equipment.
No hard shocks and rough handling
Keep away from excessive amounts of salt water
Connect up divers hat wiring plug connector into diver 1 or diver 2.
Place the diver speaker switch to "1" or "2"
Plug in headset ot ortherwise use the built in speaker.
Turn on speaker power as well as Tender power.
Check for weak battery by checking the low battery indicator.
Turn the tender volume control dockwise and adjust desired volume.
Minimize feedback squeal
Have another person speak into the diver speaker the reception of the unit.
Speak into the unit and ask the person reception of the other end when depressing the
press to talk.
