Sonuç olarak; farklı kaynaklarda ülkemizde halen yaklaşık 300-400
bitki türünün doğadan toplanarak veya kısmen küçük alanlarda
üretilerek farklı amaçlarla kullanıldığı, bu bitkilerden yaklaşık 150-200
kadarının ise gerek yurtiçi gerekse yurtdışına ticaretinin yapıldığı
bildirilmektedir (Bayram ve ark., 2010). Bitki çeşitliliği açısından
oldukça zengin olan ülkemizin farklı bölgelerinde halen birçok bitkisel
ürünün doğal floradan bilinçsiz bir şekilde toplandığı, birçok bitki
türünün neslinin tehlike altında olduğu, toplanan ürünlerin işlenmeksizin
hammadde olarak satıldığı, yöre halkının bu ürünlerden yeterince
ekonomik fayda sağlamadığı bilinen bir gerçektir. Kırsal kalkınmanın ön
plana alınarak, bölgelere göre ürün desenlerinin ortaya konulması,
hammadde yerine son ürüne işleme imkanlarının sağlanması,
kooperatifleşmenin teşviki ile ürünlerin hak ettiği değere ulaştırılması,
doğal
kaynakların
sürdürülebilir
bir
biçimde
değerlendirilmesi
gerekmektedir. Bu konuda görev öncelikli olarak konu ile ilgili kamu
kuruluşları ile bölge üniversitelerine düşmektedir. İşin ticari boyutunda
olan tüccarların ve sanayicinin konu dışında bırakılması durumunda
başarıya ulaşmanın zor olacağı dikkate alınmalı, ilgili birimlerle halkın
arasında köprü vazifesi görecek sivil toplum kuruluşlarının katkısının ne
derece büyük olduğu hedeflere ulaşmak açısından unutulmamalıdır.
Odun Dışı Orman Ürünlerinin ülkemizdeki bugünkü 100-200 milyon
dolarlık ticari boyutunun yakın gelecekte milyar dolarlık düzeylere
ulaşmaması için hiçbir engel bulunmamaktadır.

Sustainable collection methods must be obeyed strictly
for sustainable development and welfare of next
generations in the rural.
In-situ cultivation of most demanded MAP species
should be started according to GAP after economical
analysis for long term benefits.
