ENGLISH BULLETIN ( 3 ) FOR 7th GRADERS
Dear Parents,
On this page you will see the grammar subjects, vocabulary and the activities that have been learnt so far in our
lessons. The lessons are applied according to a system named ‘Thinking Skills’. In the end of each unit the students
produce something on their own or with a partner. We are still doing the fifth module in our book, Access 3.

ACTIVITIES
In the second unit, our students designed some signs about earthquake. For the third unit, our students designed a
leaflet of a hotel. Some of them prepared a brochure of a popular tourist attraction. During the fourth unit, they
designed teen magazines which looked very attractive with glossy pictures. In the fifth unit, they designed a useful
technological gadget. Before this activity, students were asked to bring some written documents and pictures about
their project. During the lesson each student was given a piece of colorful poster paper by the teacher to do his/her
performance. They prepared their project in a group work of four students and then made a presentation about it to
the class. Within the fifth module, our students are going to prepare a new gadget or a robot to introduce to their
classmates.
SKILLS ( MRS. DEBORAH ALPTEKİN)
The students have begun reading White Fang, a story about a wolf which becomes a pet dog. They completed a
map of the Yukon Territory where the setting takes place. The students are also studying about the Iditarod race, a
1051-mile dog sled race that takes place in Alaska from March 5th to the 14th. We watched videos that gave us some
introductory information about the race. We are doing Iditarod challenges in class as teams. We completed a group
activity on the background of the race. Students are looking forward to learning more about the race and seeing it in
action.

Bu sayfamızda işlemiş olduğumuz gramer konularını, kelimeleri ve aktivitelerimizi göreceksiniz. Her ünite zengin bir
kelime hazinesine sahip olduğundan, öğrencilerin kolay öğrenmesi ve unutmamaları için sürekli olarak kelimeler
tekrar edilmektedir ve farklı paragraf yazma çalışmaları yapılmaktadır. 15 Mart’ta sınav konuları teslim edilecek olup,
ertesi hafta 1. genel sınav yapılacaktır. Öğrenciler, bu sınavda 1. dönemde öğrendikleri tüm gramer konularından
sorumlu sayılacaklardır. İngilizce derslerinde öğrenim, Düşünme Becerileri Sistemi’ne göre yapıldığından aşamalı ve
sistematik bir biçimde uygulama yapılır. Aşağıda 1. dönemden bugüne kadar işlenen konuları görmektesiniz.

Aktiviteler
Öğrenciler ikinci ünitede doğal afetlerle ilgili uyarıcı tabelalar hazırladılar. Üçüncü
ünitede önceden hazırladıkları dokümanlarla sınıf içinde verilen kartonlara tatil
broşürü tasarladılar ve daha sonra bu çalışmalarını sergilediler. Dördüncü ünitede
grup çalışması yaparak rengârenk gençlik dergileri hazırladılar. Bu dergiler daha
sonra panolarımızda sergilendi. Beşinci ünitede öğrencilerimiz gelecekte
kullanılabilecek teknolojik bir ürün yarattılar.
İNGİLİZCE BECERİ DERSİ
Öğrencilerimiz “White Fang” isimli kitabı okumaya başlamışlardır. Hikâyenin geçtiği Yukon bölgesi haritasını
tamamlamışlardır. Her yıl Alaska’da düzenlenen kızaklı köpek yarışması hakkında bilgi sahibi olmuşlardır. Bu yarış
hakkında ayrıca video da izledik. Yarışın arka planı hakkında bir grup çalışması da düzenledik. Öğrencilerimiz merakla
bu yarışma hakkında daha fazla bilgi almak istiyorlar.
