IMPORTANT NOTICE ON THE VEHICLE INSPECTION OF
VEHICLES WITH SYRIAN LICENSE PLATES!
The conditions for Syrian licensed vehicles to receive registration license in our country and to receive
vehicle inspections have been specified in accordance with the article 51/A of the Highway Traffic
Regulation of the Republic of Turkey. The details are as follows:




Only passenger vehicles will receive vehicle inspection.
The vehicle can be brought to vehicle inspection station by the person mentioned as the owner of
the car in the translated registration certification, or the person to whom the owner has given a
power of attorney, or anyone else who has not brought another vehicle to inspection within the
same month.
Inspection delay fee will not be charged, liability inquiry will not be conducted at the first inspection
of vehicles following the vehicle's date of entrance to the country. Yet, following the first
inspection, inspection delay fees will be charged in case of delay, and liability inquiry will be
conducted in the future inspection.
A valid exhaust emission measurement is required for your vehicle or it will have a heavy
defect and fail at the vehicle inspection. You can receive this service at the TÜVTÜRK
Stations.
Required documents for vehicle inspection are the following:
1. Foreign Identification Document, or if such a document does not exist “Appointment Application
for Temporary Protection Document” or “Temporary Protection Identification Document”
2. Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate (original document that was issued in Syria)
3. Notary certified Turkish translation of the Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate
4. Motor Third Party Liability Insurance (MTPL) (issued for a period of at least 1 year)
5. For vehicles that were modified, in addition to the project and accounts, a document shall be
received from the relevant customs' office giving permission to the modification (the document
should describe the modification and indicate clearly which modifications are approved)
6. 3 copies of filled ANNEX-1 Form* should be brought along. (If there are any mistakes in the
information you provided such as the vehicle identification number or the number of seats, the
station will ask for this document)
Things to be done before coming to the station for vehicle inspection:
1. It is crucial that you get an appointment. You can email to [email protected] or call our call
center at 0850 222 88 88 in order to get a free of charge appointment for vehicle inspection.
2. You should make sure that you have all the required documents for vehicle inspection.
3. You should make sure the vehicle has all the required “Vehicle Equipment” such as a fire
extinguisher in working order, a first-aid kit (with all required items in place), 2 warning triangles.
4. All the front and rear lighting systems, turn signals and interior lighting systems should be in
working order.
5. Seat belts should have the qualifications that are specified in the relevant regulations, they should
be full and in working order.
6. Your vehicle's windscreen washer system and, if exists, the rear window washer system should
be in working order, the mirrors should be in full.
7. A valid exhaust emission measurement is required for your vehicle. You can receive this service
at any TÜVTÜRK Stations.
Things to be done after arriving at the station:
1. Park your car to the place as indicated.
2. Enter the customer acceptance building and get a queue number.
3. Follow the customer acceptance queue numbers and when your number is up, deliver your
documents and pay the fee. The fees are accepted only in cash.
4. After customer acceptance, follow the queue numbers outside the building and wait for your
vehicle to be called.
5. The control points of your vehicle during inspection are as follows:
o Vehicle identification
o Brake system
o Wheel, steering systems
o View specifications
o Lights, reflectors, electrical system, lighting systems
o Axle shaft (wheels), tires, suspension
o Chassis (vehicle frame) and its connections
o Required equipment
o Noise pollution, Measurement of the Level of Noise Pollution
6. Get your vehicle at the line exit 15 minutes later.
7. When the inspection is over, receive your vehicle and the report from our inspection technician.
8. As a result of the inspection, if your vehicle is found to be unsafe or have heavy faults, the vehicle
inspection will not be approved. You can use your right to receive a one-time only, free of charge
vehicle inspection at the same station within 30 days after fixing the identified deficiencies.
