Bilişim sektörünün önde gelen firmalarından Google, kendi markasıyla cep telefonu üretmeye başlıyor. Google’ın “Nexus One” adını verdiği cep telefonu, 2010 yılı başında piyasaya çıkacak. Telefon, Google’ın mobil cihazlar için geliştirdiği Android işletim sistemini kullanacak. It is expected that the new application will be implemented in 2012. There will be three categories on the labels to be brought on tires. At the first category, the energy efficiency of the tire will be evaluated between “A” and “G”. As the consumers are familiar with the energy evaluation of especially their refrigerators, the green “A” will indicate tires with the highest energy efficiency, and the red “G” will indicate tires with the highest energy consumption. Another category, which will be on the label, will be regarding the noise level of the tire. “GOOGLE PHONE” is coming! Google, one of the leading companies of the IT sector, is starting the production of cell phones with its own brand. The cell phone, called “Nexus One” will be introduced to the market at the beginning of 2010. The phone will run with the Android operating system, A developed by Google for d mobile devices. Specialists m of the sector point out Google is not only targeting that Goog Apple, manufacturer of advanced phones defined as “Smartphone”, but also mobile operators like Verizon and Spirit. Ancak büyük boyutları yüzünden bugüne kadar bu pillerden küçük sistemlerde yararlanılamamıştı. Nükleer pillerden mikro ve nano boyutlardaki elektronik cihazlarda da yararlanmanın yolunu arayan Missouri Üniversitesi ekibi, dünyanın ilk minyatür nükleer pilini üretti. Üretilen pilin bir özelliği de katı yarı-iletken yerine sıvı yarı-iletken kullanılarak dayanma ömrünün binlerce kat artırılması. AÇLIĞA KARŞI yeni umut pamuk ABD’li bilimciler, yüksek miktarda protein ihtiva eden pamuğu, besin maddesine dönüştürmeyi başardı. Cotton, a new hope AGAINST HUNGER US scientists have succeeded in converting cotton, which contains a high amount of protein, into food. The scientists have extracted the toxic material in the seed of cotton, called “gossypol”, and mentioned that this constitutes a great step regarding the struggle against hunger and that the world’s cotton fields are capable of providing food for 500 million people. It is noted that within the next 10 years, chocolate, bread, cakes and other foodstuff with high protein content could be produced from cotton. The scientists of the Texas A&M University, who achieved this important success, mention that many people in the world cannot get enough protein, and that it would be good to use a source like cotton in order to eliminate this deficit. NUCLEAR battery Nuclear batteries, which could only be used at military operations due to their size, could finally get small enough to fit in a pocket. The nuclear battery, developed by the research team of Missouri University, is capable of generating 1 Million times more electricity than common batteries of the same size. Briefly, these batteries are built up on the principle of collecting the electricity loaded particles, which are created during the disintegration of the radioactive material, and transmitting them as current. Nuclear batteries, which are in use at military and space applications for long years, can run the devices they feed for decades. However, due to their large size, these batteries could not be used at small systems. The team from Missouri University, which is searching for a way to use nuclear batteries also at electronic devices at micro and nano sizes, created the first miniature nuclear battery in the world. Another specification of the battery is that instead of a solid semiconductor, a liquid semiconductor is used and thus the lifetime is increased by thousands times. Babaları görev başında hayatını kaybeden polis çocuklarından seçilen, okullarında üstün başarı gösteren 10 yetim çocuk, üç günlük gezi programı çerçevesinde İstanbul’u gezdi. Arnavutluk Başbakanı Berisha’nın eşinin de manevi olarak desteklediği Arnavutluk Çocuklar Derneği’nin üyeleri olan 13-15 yaş arası çocuklar, Eagle Mobile Genel Müdürü Ali Taşkın ile birlikte Çalık Holding’in Zincirlikuyu’daki merkez binasını ziyaret etti. Çocuklar, Çalık Holding Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Ahmet Çalık tarafından kabul edildi ve Çalık, çocuklara, “Bugünden itibaren Türkiye, sizlerin de kardeş ülkenizdir” dedi. The children who are between the ages of 13 and 15 and the members of Albanian Children Foundation, which is supported by the wife of Albanian Prime Minister Berisha, visited the headquarters of Çalık Holding in Zincirlikuyu together with Mr. Ali Taşkın, the General Manager of Eagle Mobile. Children were welcomed by Mr. Ahmet Çalık, the Chairman of Board of Directors of Çalık Holding and he said to the children: “From now on, Turkey is your second country”. Çalık, who wanted the children to consider Turkey as their second homeland added: “As long as you keep on being successful as you are today in all your education lives, all our companies in Turkey and the ones abroad will open their doors to you.” Talking with the children who had gone abroad for the first time, Mr. Ahmet Çalık, then, gave them their presents. Meanwhile, Mr. Ali Taşkın, the General Manager of Eagle Mobile, said that those kinds of organizations would neither be the first nor the last and they would continue such social responsibility projects. The children stayed in Turkey for three days and visited the historical places of Turkey as well as Topkapı Palace, had a Bosphorus tour. Passing through the bridge connecting the two continents seemed interesting for the children. Another activity for the children was the dinner they had with a group of Turkish businessmen investing on education. The children, who had gone abroad for the first time, celebrated the Albanian Children’s Day in a very different way. The project, which is called “Cargo bags to recycle box, kids to school”, is rapidly proceeding its way with the support of many firms. Within the scope of the project that has been ongoing for more than a year, plastic cargo bags are collected and recycled in licensed firms and revive as litter bag. The amount of bags collected in a year has become 400 tons and hence, a living space as large as a thousand football fields in size has been saved. The income gained is spent for the sake of building schools in residential areas, which are determined by the Ministry of Education and are in need. The first of these will be realized in Van. The organizations and institutions supporting this model project gathered together and were awarded with a plaque at a beautiful night. Çalık Holding became one of the leading firms among 30 others that supported this social responsibility project with the largest number of bags. Upon the arrival of young and valuable lawyers to the company, with the authorization of Mr. Ahmet Çalık I continue my duty as consultant and member of Administrative Board. Although the sectors are different, the factors do not change; and this is the human factor. Everything is about managing people, administrating them…We have become experienced, we have always tried to make firm steps on the ground. For us, what we do is to tell about our lives; yet our young colleagues, I think, get valuable information from which they can benefit both in their personal and business lives. Çalık Holding nasıl bir gelişme içerisinde? Çalışma hayatı, hep sempatik ilişkiler içinde başlar. Ancak zamanla çalışma hayatının şartları itibarıyla çeşitli komplikasyonlar olabilir, bazen insanın yüreği burkulur, zaman zaman şevklenir, zaman zaman üzülür. Ben Ahmet Bey’le çalışmaya başlarken bu kadar mükemmel bir insanla bir araya geleceğimi, beraber çalışacağımızı tahmin ediyordum. Bunu samimiyetle söylüyorum, çünkü gerçekten ilişkiler itibarıyla çok makul, istişareye açık, personelini çok düşünen bir insan Ahmet Bey. “Allah böyle patronların adedini artırsın” diye düşünüyorsunuz. Biz Türkmenistan’da başladık ilk, o yıllarda yoğunluklu olarak Malatya’da ve Türkmenistan’da fabrikaları vardı. Henüz çok fazla dışarıya açılmamıştık. Bir patronun ufku geniş olunca, verdiği kararlar, o an için isabetli görünmese bile zaman içinde isabete dönüşüyor. Misal, Amerikalı geliyor Türkmenistan’a diyor ki, “Bizde de dokuma fabrikası var ama bu daha mükemmel; çünkü en son teknoloji”… Bütün işler böyle olunca, otomatik olarak suya attığınız taş, dalgalanmalar yaratıyor. Bu dalgalanmalar, hep böyle güzellikler üzerine olduğunda da şartlar gelişiyor, büyüyor ve bugünlere ulaşılıyor. Çalık Holding’in ileriye dönük nasıl hayalleri var? Bunu söylemek beni aşar. Ben müşahedelerimi, tespitlerimi belirtmek durumundayım. Cesaret ve ufuk ayrı bir özellik… Hesapsız, kitapsız cesaretten bahsetmiyorum tabii ki. Ama bir noktada risk almasını bilmeyen yöneticiler, patronlar ancak çok sınırlı çerçeve içinde varlıklarını sürdürebilirler. Varılan ‘‘ terms of duties and personal subjects, they question whether to do the tasks in this way or the other. Together, we try to find the right way. There are some issues that are demanded to be taken to the management and I become the mediator. Sometimes, we advise on various issues together with managers or personnel from any level and even with the boss. What are the differences between the Çalık 13 years ago and the one today? What kind of an improvement process has Çalık Holding been experiencing? The working life always starts with sympathetic relations. However, as time passes, due to the conditions in the working life, different complications might occur, sometimes one can be heartbroken, sometimes get motivated, sometimes upset. When I first started working with Mr. Çalık, I couldn’t even imagine that I would meet with such a perfect person and we would work together. I am being really sincere as Mr. Çalık is really a kind of person who is very reasonable, open to discussion and considerate about his personnel in terms of relationships. You say; may God increase the number of such bosses. We first began in Turkmenistan. In those years, he had factories mostly in Malatya and Turkmenistan. We hadn’t opened the business to foreign countries yet. When a boss has a wide vision, although the decision he takes may not seem the right one at that moment, it turns out to be to the point in time. For instance, an American comes to Turkmenistan and says; “We have textile factories as well, but this is better as it is the latest technology”… As this is the case, the stone you have thrown to the water creates fluctuations automatically. When these fluctuations are always about such beauties, conditions improve, grow and reach the point of today. What kind of dreams does Çalık Holding have for the future? This is out of my field. I have to tell my advices and findings. Bir amiral gemisi tabiri vardır bizde. Bir amiral gemisinin karşısında ikinci bir amiral gemisinin olması, bugünlerde dünyada Türkiye’nin de söz sahibi olmasında önemli bir rol oynamıştır bence. Ben apolitik konuşurum. Hayatımda, bir partiye, iki seçim üst üste oy vermiş biri değilim. Daha yoğunluklu olarak tanıdığım insanlar hangi partideyse oraya oy veririm. İki seçim üst üste yalnız rahmetli Özal’a vermişimdir. Türkiye’nin önemli bir fonksiyon ifa ettiğini düşünüyorum ben. Çünkü tek yönlü olunca, maalesef kişisel menfaat ve siyaset ülke menfaatinin önüne geçebiliyor birçok konuda. Bu bazen bilerek de oluyor, bilmeyerek de... Dolayısıyla da medyada Ahmet Çalık’ın ve çarkları döndüren diğer çalışanların varlığının çok önemli olduğunu düşünüyorum. “İyi ki medyaya Ahmet Çalık girdi” diyorum. Bir de sizin sıkı bir balıkçı olduğunuzu duyduk… Benim hayatım bir tane, sohbetler namütenahi. Armutlu’da benim küçük bir yazlığım, dört buçuk metrelik küçük bir sandalım, sekiz buçuk beygirlik bir Yamaha motorum var. Ben ve eşim Yalovalıyız. Eşimin babası, Devlet Üretme Çiftliği’nde memur olduğu için eşimin çocukluğu denizde geçmiş. Eniştesiyle, babasıyla beraber balığa çıkarmış küçükken. Balık âşığıdır. Hiç denizle, güneşle, plajla işi olmaz, varsa yoksa balık tutmak vardır hayatında. Onun ısrarlarıyla yazın hep balığa çıkarız. Hanımın hatırına bir balık maceramız var yani. Ben de onun hatırına balıkçı oldum. Bu güzel sohbet için çok teşekkür ederiz. ’’ Courage and vision are different things… Surely, I am not talking about courage without any plans. However, at a point, managers or bosses who do not know how to take risks can continue their existence only in a very limited frame. Results acquired are showing that steps taken, risks faced at each step are probably estimated in advance. What do you think about Çalık Holding being engaged in media? The presence of an effective and healthy opposition is always mandatory in every country for the ruling party to become successful. God creates everything with two sides. There is evil opposing good, black opposing white, corrupted opposing moral. The ruling party’s success can only be possible by the presence of a healthy opposition. That the media has a single side is to the disadvantage of the country in today’s conditions, particularly in the democratic life. There is the term flagship in Turkish. In my opinion, that there is a second flagship opposing another has had a significant role in Turkey’s having a voice in the world. I speak nonpolitically. I have never voted for the same party twice in two subsequent elections in my life. I vote for the one where there are people I know most. I have only voted for Mr. Ozal successively. I think Turkey is executing an important function, because personal interests and politics may overcome the interests of the country in many issues when there is only single side. This may happen deliberately or unwillingly. Therefore, I think that the presence of Ahmet Çalık and other people in media has uttermost importance. I say to myself; “Fortunately, Ahmet Çalık is engaged in media”. We have also heard that you are a good fisherman… I have only one life, but there are endless things to talk about…I have a small summer resort in Armutlu, a small fishing boat which is 4,5 meters in length and a Yamaha motor with 8,5 horsepower. Both I and my wife are from Yalova. Since her father was a government employee in the State Hatchery, my wife had a childhood on seaside. She went fishing with her uncle and father when she was a child. She is a fish lover. She is not fond of sunbathing or the beach. The only thing she loves doing is fishing. We always go fishing as she insists to do so. For my wife’s sake, we have a fish adventure in our lives. I have also become a fisherman for her sake. Thank you for this nice conversation. Giza Region is exactly a 5000 thousand year old, mysterious place. This region hosts Cheops, Kefren and Mikerinos Pyramids and Sphinx and Mummification Temple. Genelde iki kattan oluşan bu evlerin altları, mahzen ve bu mahzende ölüler bulunuyor. Üst katta da evi olmayanlar yaşıyor. Bu enteresan yapılar, turistlerin oldukça ilgisini çekiyor. Yine bu çevrede yer alan Citadel ve Pazar Bölgesi, şehrin renkli alanlarından. DENİZ, GÜNEŞ… Ülke daha çok kültürel ya da turistik geziler için tercih ediliyor. ÇALIK ALEXANDRIA Kahire’den 220 km uzaklaşıldığında, atmosferi ve ambiyansıyla Mısır’ın apayrı bir yüzüyle karşılaşıyorsunuz. MÖ 331’de Büyük İskender tarafından kurulan İskenderiye, deniz feneriyle dünyanın yedi harikasından birine sahip. İşte bu kent, tarihi güzelliklerinin yanı sıra bir Türk tekstil fabrikasına da ev sahipliği yapıyor: Çalık Alexandria. 19.500 metrekarelik bir alan üzerine kurulan, içerisinde bir ana bina, yönetici ofisleri ve atık su arıtma ünitesi bulunan hazır giyim fabrikası, ilk beş hattıyla üretime geçmiş durumda. The Citadel and the Bazaar place located in this surrounding are among the colorful areas of the city. THE SEA, THE SUN... The country is mostly preferred for cultural and touristic trips. The city Aswan is one of the popular places as a touristic town which is on the coast of the Nile, close to Sudan border. Here, tourists are attracted by the tours on the River Nile with the small sailing boats called “felluka”. Besides, it is popular to tour with barouche called “keles”. History is also astonishing in Aswan. Indeed, the Ramses and Nefertiti temples in Abu Simbel are located here. Luxor is another favorable city of Egypt. Here, the Karnak and Luxor temples, the valleys where the tombs of kings and queens are located and the temple of Hatshepsut, who is the only female pharaoh, are among the prominent places. ÇALIK ALEXANDRIA When departed from Cairo at a distance of 220 km, you encounter a totally different Egypt with its atmosphere and ambience. Alexandria, built in 331 B.C. by the Alexander the Great has one of the Seven Wonders of the World with the lighthouse. This city, as well as its historical beauties, hosts a Turkish ready-to-wear textile company: Çalık Alexandria. The readyto-wear textile factory established on an area of 19.500 square meters has a main building, administrative offices and waste water treatment unit and it has started production with its five lines. Starting from December 2009, the monthly production capacity of the factory is 250 thousand in fabric and 375 thousand in clothes with eight lines. There are some advantages of the company’s production in Egypt. One of these is that the high quality products meet the interested ones with more competitive prices. The fact that the products are duty free provides the customers with another 16.7 % tax advantage. NATURE’S WONDER Underwater diving is one of the reasons why the country has been preferred for the last few years. Hurgada and El Sheik are the important places in this respect. Particularly, Ras Mohammed in Sharm Region is worth seeing. Indeed, in the region which has the largest National Parks in the world, there are 1000 different types of fish and 200 different kinds of coral. Moreover, the Mangroof trees, which have the characteristic of changing salty water to fresh water, decorate the environment. As a last word, we should mention about the moto safari that is identified with the Egypt trip. Most of the people visiting the country don’t return to their homes without doing the moto safari in Sina Desert. Ülkede tekstil sektörünün durumu nedir, Türkiye’yle karşılaştırdığınızda avantaj ve dezavantajları nelerdir? Ülkede tekstil sektörü son yıllarda gözle görülür şekilde artış göstermiştir. Ülkenin, özellikle ABD ile yapmış olduğu Quiz Anlaşması sayesinde yabancı yatırımcılar, bilhassa Türkler, çok sayıda yatırım yapmıştır. Son yıllarda Türkiye’den maliyet yüzünden kaçan siparişler, Mısır üzerinden alınmaya başlamıştır. Tekstil konusunda ülke, gerekli teknik desteği vermekle beraber, çoğu zaman işlemlerin bitirilmesi için kurumlar arası onay mekanizmasına takılmaktadır. İşçi maliyetleri, enerji maliyetleri ucuzdur. Ülkede yapılan ihracata yüzde dört teşvik primi verilmektedir. ~ There is an opinion that Egypt resembles Turkey’s view 30 or 40 years ago. What do you think about this? It can be said that it is the view of Turkey in 1980s. It is not difficult to see the most fashionable cars next to the people who need a little piece of bread. In the city, which is among the biggest capitals of the world, traffic rules are performed improperly. Although the noises of the horns are continuously heard in the city, it is the most developed one among the Arab countries. Living standards are cheaper compared to Turkey. For instance, three liters of petrol cost a dollar. What is the situation of textile sector in the country? What are the advantages and disadvantages compared to Turkey? The textile sector has increased considerably in the country in the last few years. Thanks to the Quiz Treaty signed with the US, many foreign investors, particularly Turkish investors, have made a lot of investments. Recently, the orders missed in Turkey due to costs have been taken through Egypt. While the country gives enough technical support regarding textile, mostly the confirmation mechanism between the institutions delay the procedure. Cost of labor and energy is cheap. 4% incentive pay is given to exports in the country. I was born in Cyprus. After graduating from Lefkoşe Türk Maarif College, I studied in the Loughborough University of Technology in England. In 1983, I came to İstanbul, which is the homeland of my ancestors. I worked for an auditing company between the years of 1983 and 1988. Then, I went to London for a training to become CPA. I took some exams there and gained the titles of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1991 in England and Certified Public Accountant in Turkey. What was the year you had your first contact with Grant Thornton? I started working for Grant Thornton, regarded as one of five largest audit companies of the world in 1995. I have been the head of the Independent Audit Section since then. Furthermore, I am the Deputy Head of Grant Thornton What kind of a business relationship do you have with Çalık Holding? We have been conducting independent audit studies in accordance with International Independent Audit Standards with Çalık Holding since 2006. Within scope of those studies, we issue independent audit reports pursuant to International Financial Reporting Standards. Our studies cover both solo audits of about 50 companies affiliated to the Holding and consolidated reports of the whole group. Do you also deal with foreign associations of the group? What kind of development do you think the Holding has undergone during this period? Çalık Holding is one of pioneering groups of Turkey due to around 50 companies operating in fields of construction, energy, textile, finance, telecom and media. Group sustains business operations due to correct strategies and managerial skills despite global financial crisis. We also excitedly follow rapid advance achieved recently by the group, while we, under name of Grant Thornton Turkey, have been working with Çalık Holding since 2006. What is meant by a high quality audit? We are preparing the audit reports of the companies based on the international accounting standards and when we say that the financial situation in the reports we prepared reflects the reality, the banks and investors trust us and give credit to that company, become a partner or make an investment. Therefore, audit reports as well as the company preparing those reports are vital. That is, in the modern era, audit reports aren’t prepared merely to report to the governments. Son yirmi yılda iki büyük kriz atlatıldı. 2001’deki kriz Türkiye’ye özeldi. 2008’deki ise dünyadaki bir krizdi. İşte bu krizlerde denetim mesleği sıklıkla gündeme geldi. “Acaba denetçiler görevlerini yeterince yerine getiremedikleri için mi bu kriz patladı?” görüşü ortaya atıldı. Aslında tüm bunları geçtiğimiz Temmuz ayında Londra’da gerçekleştirilen G20 zirvesinde masaya yatırdık. G20’nin muhasebe ve finans zirvesinde Türkiye’yi ben temsil ettim. Peki, krizle ilgili sorumlular nasıl sıralanıyor? Bu krizde üç tane kurum sorumlu tutuldu. Bunlardan üçüncüsü yani en az sorumlu olanı denetçi firmalar. İkinci sorumlu, devlet daireleri... Özellikle ABD’deki Sermaye Piyasası Kurulu SEC. Birinci sorumlu ise “hırs” olarak belirlendi. Bilindiği üzere en büyük patlamalar ABD’den dünyaya yayıldı. Şirketi idare edenlerin riskli alanlara girip çabuk kârlar elde etmeye çalışmalarının krizi getirdiği görüşü hâkim oldu. In the last two decades, two significant crises were overcome. Crisis occurred in 2001 was specific to Turkey. However, 2008 crisis was a global crisis. It has been questioned whether these crises occurred due to the fact that the auditors didn’t perform their duties well. In fact, we discussed all these in the G20 summit, which was held last July in London. I represented Turkey in the accounting and finance summit of G20. Well, what is the rank of individuals recognized as responsible for the crisis? Three institutions were found to be responsible in this crisis. The third of these, that is the least responsible one, are the auditing companies. Second one is public institutions... It was assumed that particularly the Securities and Exchange Commission SEC in the USA. The first was determined as “ambition”. As it is known, biggest bursts were disseminated from U.S.A. to the rest of the world. It was agreed that it caused the crises that the ones managing the companies went into risky areas and tried to gain profit in very short time. Özellikle 17. yüzyılın büyük ressamı Peter Paul Rubens’e ait tablolar, başta Brüksel’deki Belçika Kraliyet Güzel Sanatlar Müzesi olmak üzere pek çok müzede sanatseverlerle buluşuyor. Antwerp’in gelmiş geçmiş en ünlü vatandaşı unvanına sahip ressam Peter Paul Rubens’in müzesi, sanatçının hayatının çoğunu geçirdiği evin müzeye dönüştürülmesi ile oluşmuş. Rubens, 38 yaşından sonra burada ilk eşi, ikinci eşi ve çocukları ile yaşamış. Sanatçının çalıştığı atölyenin de bulunduğu müzede, birçok tablosu ve heykeli yer alıyor. Müzenin yeşillikler ve yine heykellerle dolu bahçesi de görülmeye değer. Hayattayken birçok insan tarafından ziyaret edilen evi, günümüzde Rubens’in eserlerini yakından görmek isteyen sanatseverlerle dolup taşıyor. Katolik bir ülke olan Belçika’nın en büyük ve Avrupa’nın en güzel katedrali olarak bilinen Cathedral of Our Lady de, Antwerp’te. Ayrıca şehirde 16. yüzyıl ve Antwerp’in altın çağı olarak bilinen 17. yüzyıl başlarından kalma beş adet birbirinden ünlü kilise yer alıyor. FULL OF HISTORY Belgium is a country famous for its squares. Besides its squares, the cultural heritage that belongs to the gothic, renaissance and baroque periods in its various cities contributes a different flavor to the country’s atmosphere. Particularly the paintings of the great artist of the 17th century Peter Paul Rubbens meet the art lovers in Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Belgium and in many other museums. On the other hand, profitability is ongoing. Despite the crisis, the rate of profit obtained has risen above all the sectors in Europe with 1.3 %. The situation is not different in Turkey. The biggest dynamic of this optimistic atmosphere is undoubtedly the great mobility experienced in the telecommunication sector in 2009. Starting to operate in March 2008 and providing services to 600 thousand subscribers by the end of 2009, Eagle Mobile was awarded due to its quality services and the contributions to Albanian economy as well as the social responsibility projects it realized. The company started more than 10 social responsibility projects in its foundation year. It gave financial support to the orphan children, senior’s houses, orphanages, nurseries and organized dinner to create good spirits. Moreover, in 2009, it started a project for establishing a foundation that will support the orphans or financially disadvantaged youth. Besides, it set up 300 base stations in 6 months and covered the 97 % of the country. In this small Balkan country with a population of 3.5 million, the company manages to open the services – Mobil TV, internet ready to 3G EDGE – which are also served by the operators in the developed European countries and it reached 380 thousand subscribers in 11 months. This number has brought Eagle Mobile to a point where it becomes the most widely used mobile phone operator of the country. The companies that produce value added services and continuously form new products in internet setting or media will prosper. For instance, Vitamin that belongs to TTNet or the pages designed for educative purposes… We call these products “value added goods”. If we manage to produce services meeting the needs of this age or value added services, we can stay in the telecom sector. Moreover, in telecommunications sector, there are some new technologies without infrastructure, though not appeared in Turkey yet. The first is the GSM Wireless technology. The new Wi-max license will be given after the information technologies declarations of the ministry in this term. Wi-max makes internet data transfer like 3G but it is much faster and wider. Today, there is nothing that may replace of fiber. The second, you use lots of base stations in GSM. The coverage area of GSM is narrower. To illustrate, when Wi-max is established in a city, should there be a high loaded data that can cover 30 kms with a single antenna but should you set up Wi-max in high places, you must set up antenna more often inside the high buildings as there is an intense data transfer. Therefore, Wi-max is suitable for rural areas and even everywhere if you attempt to set up antennas very often. This work will be based on the accommodation, population density, user and data transfer. It is not possible for us to distinguish the telecommunication from media or information systems technologies called IT that may create healthy projects, turn information into product and know the needs of social citizens. Emotional intelligence forms a basis for the person to perceive the feelings of his own and others’ emotions, distinguish and manage them, gain the social and emotional competencies needed for success at work and make them real. These competencies may be acquired and the level of emotional intelligence can be increased. Emotional intelligence is a quality that can improve by reinforcing the following aspects and develop at any age. ● It shouldn’t be forgotten that the real language expressing our emotions is the body language. The most important step in his effort in knowing himself and connecting his goals with his chances is taken by knowing the body language. ● The second important factor in emotional intelligence is the level of empathy owned. Individuals can see that empathy is one of the main veins nurturing the relationships, starting from their own needs. ● People moving on the steps of emotional intelligence should develop the aspects of tolerance and flexibility in their personalities. Çorum Natural Gas Distribution Corp. was eliminated at the fifth round with the lowest offer. The auction started with 386 million dollars. The auction interval was declared to be 500 thousand dollars. The competition was among Anadolu Natural Gas Distribution Corp., Çalık Energy Industry and Commerce Corp, and Kolin Construction Tourism Industry and Commerce Corp. While auction was ongoing, the firms were eliminated one by one. Finally, Anadolu Natural Gas Distribution Corp. and Çalık Energy remained as the last two firms. Ayrıca somon, uskumru, ton, ringa, hamsi gibi balıklar çok yağlı sınıfına giriyor. Pisi balığı, kefal, lüfer, kılıçbalığı ise orta yağlı balıklar. Morina, kayabalığı, köpekbalığı, dilbalığı, deniz levreği, mezgit de az yağlı balıklara giriyor. Ancak yağda kızartılan balığın, daha kalorili olduğunu ve çözünen vitaminlerin pişirme sırasında yağa geçmesinden dolayı daha fakir hâle geldiğini belirtmek gerekiyor. Bu sebeple, balıkların mümkün olduğunca buğulama ve ızgara şeklinde pişirilmesi gerekiyor. As it is with less fat during summer months, steam cooking is advised instead of grilling or frying in pan. PILCHARD: The most delicious period of the pilchard, caught in Northern-Aegean in our country, is between July and October. At this term, several grill, oven, sheet kebab, steam and cold dishes are prepared from this fish. However, between the months October and June, only cold dishes and steams can be made. MACKEREL: The tastiest period of the fish, which swims in swarms, is between September and January. BLUEFISH: This is a migrant fish, which swarms in the Mediterranean, Black Sea, Marmara Sea, Indian Ocean and the Atlantic. We can also direct our children to skiing. Though it is said the ages 4-5 are appropriate for starting with skiing, I think that it shouldn’t be started prior to the age of 6. The reason is that they will fall while learning and sometimes only for that reason a fear incurs in them and they quit before starting to enjoy this nice sport. Boyunuz ve kilonuza göre bir kayak ve ayağınıza göre bir kayak ayakkabısı edinmek artık çok ama çok kolay. Yeteneğinize göre, beş ila 10 ders alarak pistlerde yerinizi alabilirsiniz. Snowboard’da da ayaklar board’a takılır, sadece bel ve kalça hareket ettirmek suretiyle yapılır. Snowboard yaparken kask takmanızı şiddetle öneriyorum, çünkü düşmeden board neredeyse yapılamaz ve ne zaman, nasıl düşeceğiniz de hiç belli olmaz. KAYAK MERKEZLERİ Türkiye’de artık birçok kayak merkezi var. Eğer bu işi spor amacıyla yapmak isterseniz size Kartalkaya’yı tavsiye edebilirim. Buraya, İstanbul’dan iki buçuk, üç saatte rahatça ulaşabilirsiniz. Yüksekliği 2200 metre civarında. Burada üç otel var. Bu arada eğer seçiminiz Kartalkaya olursa, size küçük bir de tüyo vereyim: Kayak kiralamak için dağa tırmanırken Kayakçı’dan kiralayın. İsterseniz kiraladığınız kayakları otele de getirebiliyorlar ve oteldeki kayak kiralama fiyatından çok daha uygun. Kayarken çok enerji harcadığınız için tabii ki öğlen sucuk ekmek yemeyi de ihmal etmemelisiniz. Bu arada eğer çocuğunuz varsa ve kayağı yeni öğrenecekse mecburen Dorukkaya otelini tercih etmelisiniz. Ama kayak biliyorsanız, size Kartal Otel ya 62 ÇALIKhaber BEYOND SKIING When it is talked about winter sports, not only skiing should come into mind; I, for example, have been snowboarding since 10 years. Snowboarding is also done by fixing the feet on the board and by moving only the waist and the hip. As it won’t be possible to snowboard without falling and you can never know when and how you will fall, I definitely suggest you to wear a helmet while snowboarding. SKI CENTERS Meanwhile, there are many ski centers in Turkey. If you want to do it as a sport, I can suggest you Kartalkaya. You can easily get here within 2 to 3 hours from İstanbul. The altitude is about 2.200 meters. There are 3 hotels. Beside this, if your selection should fall on Kartalkaya, I have three tips for you: rent your ski at Kayakçı while climbing the mountain. They can bring the ski also to the hotel you are staying at if you should desire and it is much more affordable than the renting prices of the hotels. As you will spend much energy while skiing, you should of course not forget to eat a soujouk-bread at midday. Thereby, Valais, İsviçre Valais, Switzerland Türkiye’deki Uludağ ve Kartalkaya kadar yurt dışında da çok güzel pistler, kayakseverlere vazgeçemeyecekleri bir keyif yaşatıyor. As Uludağ and Kartalkaya in Turkey, also several nice tracks abroad provide ski-lovers indispensable joy. Uludağ da Grand Kartal’ı tavsiye edeceğim. Uludağ’da çok fazla otel olduğu için fiyatlar daha uygun, ancak burada kalabalıktan dolayı liftlerde çok fazla sıra beklemek zorunda kalabilirsiniz. İstanbul’a en yakın mesafedeki kayak merkezi ise Sapanca’daki Kartepe. Ama maalesef Kartepe’de kayakçıdan çok piknikçi olduğu için kayak ve snowboard açısından en son tercih edeceğiniz yer olmalı. Erciyes’de de yeni bir kayak merkezi var; fakat henüz tam oturmuş değil. Erciyes yerine Palandöken’i tercih edebilirsiniz. YURT DIŞI SEÇENEKLERİ Tabii, bir de Türkiye’nin komşularında kayak merkezleri var. Örneğin Bulgaristan’daki kayak merkezleri çok başarılı. Özellikle Borovest ve Pamporov’u önermeden edemeyeceğim. Pistleri ve kayak sezonu oldukça uzun. Artık birçok turizm şirketi de buralara tur düzenliyor. Oteller pek lüks sayılmaz ama yine de amacı kayak yapmak olanların mutlaka görmesi, denemesi gerekiyor. Ulaşım otobüsle sağlanabiliyor, 10 saatlik bir yolculukla Borovest’e ulaşabiliyorsunuz. Bir de size Verbier’yi önermek istiyorum. Cenevre’den otobüsle 45 dakika sürüyor; yaklaşık 3300 metre yükseklikte. Farklı özelliklerde, çok fazla sayıda pist var. Pistlerin uzunluğu ise 200 kilometreden fazla. Çocuklar için ayrı, büyüklerden farklı bir öğrenme yeri mevcut. Burada otellerde konaklayabiliyorsunuz ama bir alternatif de birkaç ailenin birlikte kiralayabileceği chalet’ler. Chalet kiralamak, oldukça ucuza geliyor. Oteller ve evler, pistlere oldukça uzak bir noktada konumlandığından sürekli ücretsiz shuttle’ler servis veriyor. Bir de mutlaka zorunlu kaza sigortası yaptırılıyor ki benim gibi board’culara şart. if you should have children and these will newly learn skiing, you will need to choose the Dorukkaya Hotel obligatory. But if you are experienced in skiing, I will suggest you the Kartal Hotel or the Grand Kartal Hotel. As there are much more hotels at Uludağ, the prices are more affordable, but here you might be forced to wait long for the lifts due to that it is much more crowded here. The closest ski centre to Istanbul is the Kartepe in Sapanca. But unfortunately, as there are more picnickers than skiers at Kartepe, it should be your last selection for skiing and snowboarding. There is a new ski center at Erciyes, but it is not completely settled. You might choose Palandöken instead of Erciyes. CHOICES ABROAD Of course, there are also ski centers of the neighboring countries of Turkey. For example, the ski centers in Bulgaria are very successful. I can’t stand back without suggesting especially Borovest and Pamporov. The tracks are very long and they have a long skiing season. Many tourism companies also offer trips to these places. The hotels are not that luxury, but those, whose target is to ski, should definitely see them. The transport is available by bus; you can reach Borovest after a travel of 10 hours. Additionally I want to suggest you Verbier. It takes 45 minutes by bus from Geneve; has an altitude of approximately 3.300 meters. There are many tracks with different attributes. And the length of the tracks is more than 200 km. There is a learning place for children, separate from the grownups. You can stay here at hotels, but another alternative are the chalets, which can be rent by a couple of families. To rent a chalet is rather affordable. As the hotels and the houses are located rather far from the tracks, there are continuous charge-free shuttles providing service. And, a mandatory accident insurance is required, which is obligatory for snowboarders like me.
