Bibliography
Dr.M.Fatih UYAR, was born on 05.21.1980 in Ankara. After completing his primary and secondary
education, in 1999, he entered in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Hacettepe University (H.U.)
and has had his undergraduate degree in 2003. Same year he enrolled Institutional Food Service Master’s
Degree program at H.U Health Sciences Institute and began to work as a Research Assistant till 2009.
During his thesis, he went to Australia and work as visiting scholar at Flinders University Department of
Nutrition and Dietetics for 5 months. He finished his master’s thesis on subject of “Service quality of the
primary school canteens in Çankaya district of Ankara, encountered problems and solution suggestions”
in 2006 and became an Specialist Dietitian.
He has been accepted to the PhD program to the department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Institute of Health
Sciences, Hacettepe University in September 2006. During PhD thesis he was appointed as Private
Dietitian to the 11 th President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr.Abdullah Gül by Turkish Presidency.
He completed his PhD thesis on subject of “Determination of Staphylococcus aureus and Staphyiloccal
Enterotoxin A presence by molecular and microbiological methods in meatball meals cooked by two
different methods in hospitals" in 2009 and entitled as Doctor of Philosophy.
He worked as Lecturer between 2009-2011, he continued to work as Assistant Professor in the same
department between 2011-2013. Meanwhile Dr.Uyar was appointed as deputy coordinator of Food
Systems and then as coordinator respectively by Prof.Dr.A.Murat Tuncer, Rector (Chancellor) of the
Hacettepe University. Meantime he was acting as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at
Hacettepe University between 2012-2014. Also he had different roles at Faculty Board as representative
of Assistant and Associated Professors. Dr.Uyar continues his academic life as Associate Professor at
same University since 2013.
Dr.Uyar supervised numbers of undergraduate and graduate students either at Masters Degree and PhD
degree.
Dr.Uyar has taken a very active role at improving/updating of health care facilities at Presidential palace
and acted as the manager of Nutrition and Food Safety Department under the Health Department, Turkish
Presidency. Later on health care facilities of Presidential Palace affiliated to the Hacettepe University
Hospitals, and then he was appointed as Deputy Head Doctor of University hospitals who is responsible
from Presidential Palace. Meanwhile, he was acting as Head of Social Services at Presidential Palace.
After H.E Mr.Abdullah Gül complete his tenure Dr.Uyar went to United States and worked as visiting
Scientist at North Carolina State University at Raleigh for a while then he transferred to Harvard
University Medical School Boston Childrens Hospital as same position.
Dr.Uyar married with Dr.Banugül Uyar and they have two boys and daughter named Hayati Kaan (9),
Necdet Kerem (4) and baby girl Saadet Beren.
