Dear Madam or Sir,
Germany and Turkey are united by extraordinarily diverse and
intense relations. 2.5 million people of Turkish origin live in Germany, 937,000 of them in North Rhine-Westphalia, the core state of
Turkish immigration in Germany and even all of Europe. Our citizens
of Turkish descent are a social and cultural enrichment and make a
considerable contribution to the economic performance of our state.

North Rhine-Westphalia is the chief regional German trade partner for
Turkey – the foreign trade volume of North Rhine-Westphalia/Turkey
reached a new peak level in 2007 at 6.4 billion euro – that is one
fourth of the total German-Turkish trade in goods.
This is once again confirmed by the great response of exhibitors from
North Rhine-Westphalia who have come to WIN I in Istanbul: 35 of
the approximately 50 exhibitors of the German Pavilion come from
North Rhine-Westphalia.
I am delighted that North Rhine-Westphalia, which was the partner
region of WIN I in 2008, is conducting another NRW symposium this
year.
I cordially invite you to get to know new trends and developments in

Saygıdeğer bayanlar ve baylar,
Almanya ile Türkiye’yi birleştiren unsurlar, olağanüstü, çeşitlilik
gösteren ve yoğun ilişkilerdir. 2.5 milyon Türkiye kökenli insan
Almanya’ da yaşamaktadır. Bunlardan, 937.000 kişi, tüm Almanya
ve Avrupa’da Türkler için bir göç odak yeri olan Nordrhein-Westfalen
bölgesinde bulunmaktadır. Türkiye kökenli bu vatandaşlarımız
toplumsal ve kültürel açıdan bir zenginlik teşkil etmekte olup, ülkemiz
ekonomisine önemli ölçüde katkıda bulunmaktadırlar.

Nordrhein-Westfalen, bölge olarak, Türkiye için en önemli Alman
menşeli ticari ortaktır. Nordrhein-Westfalen-Türkiye dış ticaret hacmi
2007 yılı itibariyle 6.4 milyar Euro ile en yüksek noktaya ulaşmıştır. Bu
rakam, tüm Alman-Türk mal trafiğinin dörtte birini teşkil etmektedir.
Bu durum, Nordrhein-Westfalen bölgesinden WIN 1 için İstanbul’a
gelmiş olan fuarcıların yoğun rağbeti ile teyit edilmiştir: Almanya fuar
standı dâhilinde yaklaşık 50 fuar katılımcısından 35 tanesi NordrheinWestfalen bölgesinden gelmektedir.
2008 yılından sonra, o zamanlar WIN1’in bölge olarak ortağı
bulunan Nordrhein-Westfalen bölgesinin, bu yıl da tekrar NRW
(Nordrhein-Westfalen) sempozyumu düzenlemesinden dolayı memnuniyet duymaktayım.
Sizi bu konuyla ilgili olarak, 07.02.2009 tarihi Cumartesi günü,
sunumlar dâhilinde yeni trendleri ve gelişmeleri tanımanız amacıyla
davet ediyorum.

Partner of industry for developing emerging markets
As the export promotion agency of the German state of North RhineWestphalia, we support small and medium-sized businesses in particular in developing important emerging markets worldwide. Our close
cooperation with partners from chambers of commerce and industry,
associations and business development societies allows us to offer
projects that are especially tailored to the needs of export industries.
A key instrument is the participation in international trade fairs.
NRW.International participates for the fourth time with an Information
Service Centre providing North Rhine-Westphalian exhibitors with a
lounge where they can meet with business partners. A sector expert
will be present to provide information and service to these companies
but also to visitors wishing to get acquainted with our state.
WIN I, as an important trade fair for the manufacturing industry, with
197 international exhibitors from 22 countries, 6 national pavilions
and more than 120,000 professional exhibitors from 70 countries in
2008, offers our North Rhine-Westphalian businesses an excellent
platform to present their expertise and explore their market opportunities.
The following pages shall provide a good overview of the diverse
innovations and products of the exhibiting companies from North
Rhine-Westphalia.
We hope that all exhibitors and visitors will have an interesting and
successful time at WIN I 2009.
