Mount Erciyes which has taken her name from a Grek word 'Argaeos' is located in 20 km South of Kayseri has
been the symbol of the region for almost 50 million years. The mountain has played a very crucial role during
the civilizations of different empires such as Hittites, Phrygians, Persians, Cappodocia, Roman, Byzantium,
Seljukian and Ottoman empires since the first settlements around Kayseri in BC 4.000. 1t is heart of Kayseri with
3. 797 m height and for seasons snowy magnificent summit which is piercing clouds. This most handsome
mountain has always granted holy feelings to the people to such an extent that in the archaic period, famed as
Olympos in Anatolia with supernatural identity, and this value was even reflected to the coined of Roman
Empire.
According to the historians, as an extinct volcano, explosions have begun 30 million years ago and volcano
were moved kilometers away from the mountain with the severity of the explosions. Throughout the history, by
the effect of wind and flood, upper strata of the volcano disappeared and fairy chimneys and geologic structure
of Cappadocia were formed. Higher points of Erciyes are covered by snow during the year and there is a 7 km
mountain glaicer in the north part. Caves and temples located at the summit of the mountain those which have
served as a prayer rooms for Byzantine priests are still being used for climbers as shelter in bad weather conditions.
The mountain which is indispensable for many years for ski
enthusiasts has recently come again to public agenda of the
country with Erciyes Master Project which has been performed by Kayseri Metroplitan Municipality aiming to make
Erciyes one of the largest ski and winter tourism center in
the world.

zorluk derecelerindeki pistlerde ad rena lin dozu yi.iksek noktalara ula~acak. Kar ezme makineleriyle gi.inli.ik olarak ezilen ve di.izenlenen pistler i<;:erisinde kayak sporuna
hem yeni ba~layanlar, hem de profesyonel kayak<;:llar kendileri i<;:in muhakkak en zevklisini bulacaklar.
Erciyes Turizm Merkezinde kar yag1~1n1n yeterli olamayacag1 durumlar i<;:in de tedbirler almm1~ bulunmaktad1r. Kayak zevkini en az bir ay daha uzatabilmek i<;:in devreye

When the Master Plan has completed, professionally organized inter-connected 200 km slopes will
offer an irresistible thrill of non-stop skiing. Even in 2074/2075 season, slopes that is approximately
703 km and designed according to the International Ski Federation/FIS rules with different difficulty
degrees will increase adrelanine doze to a much higher level. Professional and beginner skiers will find
the most appropriate and enjoyable ones for themselves amongst our daily groomed slopes.
All measures have been taken for the situations of inadequate snowfall In Erciyes Tourism Center;
snow will always be guaranteed with the snow making system and hereby your ski adventure would
be prolonged at least one month more.

Cappadocia, meaning 'the region of beautiful horses' in ancient grek is the name of the land that has been ruled by different
powers like Assyrians, the Hittites, Firiks, Kingdom of Cappadocia, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman since BC 3000. This
region is one of the real wonders of the world and one of the best examples of civilization and the integration of the differences. Fairy Chimneys and geological structure of Cappadocia which is unique in the world have formed as a result of
eruption of Erciyes volcano about 30 million years ago. So probably it will not be wrong to call Erciyes as 'the father of Cappadocia: While the geographic events were giving shape to the fairy chimneys, people who lived in that area in the historical
process carved homes and churces inside these chimneys. They have created their own particular field of life and decorated
them with frescoes those which are stil the signs of ancient civilization from thousands of years ago. Capadoccia is the
region which contains several famous towns like Urgup, Goreme, U~hisar, Ava nos, Zelve and Derinkuyu. Every year more
than 2 Million tourists are visiting these places from all over the world.
If we consider that Kayseri is also in Cappodocia region and just 60 km away to Urgup, it would be a great opportunity for
you to ski on Erciyes and being able to see Cappodocia with a 30 minute trip from the city center. Besides, with the advantage of closeness, you would be able to prefer staying in the cave hotels of Cappadocia and visit Erciyes to enjoy the facilities
of the mountain.

Erciyes mountain is becoming one of world's leading winter tourism center. Scope of the projet, slopes in FIS standarts, gondollifts,
detachable and non-detachable lifts, winter and summer tourism
activity centers, daily social facilities with 5000 people capacity,
congress and culture centers, cafes and restaurants, football
fields, health centers, hotels with a capacity 5.000 beds and alp
village.

largest winter and summer tourism centers of the world with a
total number of 20 mechanical lifts that is more than 35.000 m
