Abstract
This project aims to address the well-known dialectic of “symptom” and
“its removal”, which manifests itself in its simplest form in the therapeutic
encounter. This issue can be viewed from, both the systemic perspective and
intergenerational histories of the individuals within the system. For the purposes
of this project, “systemic perspective” refers to Systemic Family Therapy
Approach and “intergenerational transmission” refers to Bowenian Family
Therapy Approach.
Systemic perspective views individuals and their symptoms (complaints) in
a “relational” context and makes assessment accordingly. The system in which
individuals belong and influence one another on a regular basis is a fundamental
ground and a guide for making sense of symptoms and then to remove them.
The concept of intergenerational transmission addresses the emotional, structural
and relational transmissions that individuals bring from the familial systems that
preceded them. Symptoms are viewed in light of these transmissions.
In this project I recommend the reader to view the client and read the
symptom he/she presents (and separate him/her from the symptom) in the
entirety of his/her relational network: Through both the current relationships of
the person and also the historical ones. My intention is not to compare these two
different theoretical grounds to each other, but to recommend to use both of
their views to enrich our understandings about the symptom. Making use of both
of these two perspectives is very important in making sense of the symptom and
assessing how the person functions. This project foresees that, looking from the
combination of two perspectives will make the psychotherapy process more
efficient and the positive effects of psychotherapy will remain for longterm.

Semptomun Sistemik Çerçeveden ve Kuşaklararası Aktarım Üzerinden Analizi
Bu projenin amacı, psikoterapi odalarımızda en yalın haliyle gerçekleşen
„şikayet
ve
şikayetin
ortadan
kaldırılması‟
diyalektiğinin,
hem
sistemik
perspektiften hem de sistemdeki bireylerin kuşaklararası tarihleri açısından
değerlendirilmesini düşündürebilmektir. Bu projede kullanılan “sistemik çerçeve”
ifadesi, Sistemik Aile Terapisi‟ni; “kuşaklararası aktarım” ifadesi de Bowen Aile
Terapisi yaklaşımını işaret etmektedir
Sistemik çerçeve belirgin biçimde bireyleri ve şikâyetlerini “ilişkisel”
bağlamda değerlendirmektedir. Bireylerin içinde var oldukları ve düzenli bir
şekilde birbirlerini etkiledikleri bir sistem, şikayetlerine anlam vermek ve ortadan
kaldırmak için temel bir zemin ve yol göstericidir. Kuşaklararası aktarım kavramı
ise bireylerin kendilerinden önceki aile sistemlerinden getirdikleri duygusal,
yapısal ve ilişkisel aktarım boyutuyla bu şikayetleri değerlendirmek ister.
Bu proje, bu iki kuramsal zemini birbiriyle karşılaştırmaktansa, semptoma
dair okumamızı zenginleştirmesi bakımından her ikisini, birlikte kullanmayı
öneriyor. Bu bütünlüğün, danışanın semptomunu anlamlandırma ve işlevselliğini
okuma bakımından önem taşıdığını varsayıyor. Bu yolla psikoterapi sürecinin
olumlu etkilerinin daha verimli ve kalıcı olmasına katkısının olacağını öngörüyor.
