Sevgili Velilerimiz,
Kasım ve Aralık aylarında vücudumuzun bölümlerini, vahşi- çiftlik-evcil hayvanları,
yemeklerimizi, meyveleri ve sebzeleri,ayları, ailemizin bireylerini, evimizin bölümlerini,
ve yılbaşı temalarını işledik.Aylık tema partilerimizi yaptık. Bugs 1 öğrenci kitabını
tamamladık ve alıştırma kitabını yapmaya başladık. Artık bakarak yazabiliyoruz ve
resimlerden yardım alarak biraz biraz okuyabiliyoruz.Dönem sonunda bitirdiğimiz
kitapları ve İngilizce defterimizi eve göndereceğiz.İkinci dönem ise Bugs 2 öğrenci
kitabını ve alıştırma kitabını, İngilizce defterlerimizi ve haftasonu ödevlerimizi içinde
saklayacağımız ürün dosyalarımızı okula göndermenizi rica edeceğiz.

What did we do? / Neler Yaptık?


We played flashcard games to practice our vocabulary knowledge.
Kelime bilgimizi tekrar etmek için resimli kartlarla oyunlar oynadık.


We grouped body parts as upper body, lower body and head.
Vücudumuzun bölümlerini baş, üst vücut ve alt vücut olmak üzere gruplandırdık.

We made connections between body parts and our senses. We formed sentences
like;
“I can smell flowers with my nose,
I can eat/taste sandwiches with my mouth,
I can feel feather with my hands,
I can hear the trumpet with my ears,
I can see an elephant with my eyes.”

Vücudumuzun bölümleri ve duyu organlarımızla ilgili bağlantılar oluşturduk.
Örneklenen şekilde cümleler kurduk.

We grouped animals as pets, farm animals and wild animals. We did drawing ,
matching, tracing and grouping activities.

Hayvanları evcil hayvanlar, çiftlik hayvanları ve vahşi hayvanlar olmak üzere
gruplandırdık. Resim çizme, eşleştirme, izleri takip ederek yazı yazma ve
gruplandırma çalışmaları yaptık.


We learned how to express the actions animals can or can’t do.
Hayvanların yapabildiği ve yapamadığı eylemleri nasıl ifade edeceğimizi
öğrendik.

 In November we had a Power Point lesson. In this lesson we used the Backpack CD-ROM to review
topics of vocabulary we were already familiar with and some topics that were new. We listened to a
song and listened to the parts of a story about moving to a new house and the jobs of the characters
in the story.
Also in November we had an Activity Hour lesson. We made a booklet about the book we were
reading in class. The book is called “Creepy Crawly Bugs” and we made a coloring booklet to match
the story. We even copied a few words in the booklet we made.
In December, 1st grades had Story Telling lesson. We read the book “Monster Pet” and learned
about shapes. In the story, there are colorful monsters that have pet snakes. They feed their pet lots
of funny and strange things like a ball, a doll, a bat and a hat. In the end, the monster’s pet eats
everything and his body is shaped very funny because of the objects he ate. Afterwards we picked
new things for the pet to eat and then drew the new picture of the pet with the food in his belly.
For the second Activity Hour lesson of the year we did Blind Dictation. The students were to
remember all of their shapes and we did a listening exercise to practice this. Blind dictation is where
the students listen to the teacher (or their partners) and draw the shapes to make a bigger picture.
The key is that they should try it without looking!

Kasım ayında yaptığımız PPT dersinde daha önce öğrendiğimiz kelimeleri ve yeni öğrendiğimiz bazı
konuları tekrar etmek için Backpack CD-ROM’u kullandık. Yeni bir eve taşınmakla ilgili bir hikâye ve
mesleklerle ilgili bir şarkı dinledik.
Kasım ayında bir Aktivite Saatimiz de oldu. Sınıfta okuduğumuz kitapla ilgili küçük kitapçıklar
hazırladık. Kitabın ismi “Creepy Crawly Bugs” ve bu kitapla eşleşen bir boyama kitapçığı da yaptık.
Hatta bu kitapçıktaki bir kaç kelimeyi kopyaladık.
Aralık ayında, Hikâye Anlatma dersimizi yaptık. “Monster Pet” isimli kitabı okuduk
ve şekilleri öğrendik. Hikâyede evcil yılanları olan canavarlar anlatılıyordu. Bu
canavarlar hayvanlarını top, oyuncak bebek, yarasa, şapka gibi ilginç şeylerle
besliyorlardı. Hikâyenin sonunda canavarın hayvanı her şeyi yedi ve yediği şeyler
yüzünden vücudu ilginç şekiller aldı. Biz bu evcil hayvanın yemesi için yeni şeyler
bulurken hayvanın midesindeki bu yeni obje ile resmini çizdik.
Yılın ikinci aktivite dersinde Kör Dikte isimli bir aktivite yaptık. Öğrencilerin bütün
şekilleri hatırlamaları gerekiyordu ve bununla ilgili bir dinleme aktivitesi yaptık.
Kör Dikte öğrencilerin öğretmenini (partnerini) dinlediği ve şekilleri daha büyük
şekiller oluşturmak için kullandıkları bir aktivitedir. Aktivitenin püf noktası
öğrencilerin bunu bakmadan çizmeyi denemesidir!
