Çanakkale Seramik Fabrikalar A.., the first ceramic tile
producer in Turkey was founded in 1957 and Kalebodur
Seramik Sanayi A.., the first floor tiles producer was
founded in 1972. Çanakkale Seramik spells quality in
floor tiles with an experience of 50 years and Kalebodur
became the generic name for the product. Çanakkale
Seramik Fabrikalar A.. and Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi
A.. merged under one roof in 2000, and were known as
Kaleseramik Çanakkale Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi A..

producing on a single site, with its production capacity
of 62 million square meters, at its Çan factories, also has
a production of 6 million square meters in the production
facilities in Yozgat.

karakteristikleri ise olaand yüzeyler yaratlmaktadr.

Doada bulunan saysz mineralin benzersiz sertlik derecesi vardr.
Örnek olarak, doann bir mucizesi : Elmas. Sertlik derecesi
mineralojide kullanlan en yüksek sertlik derecesi olan 10 Mohs'luk
göstermektedir. Kalestone doann dayankllndan alnan ilhamla
tasarlanm en gelimi teknoloji ürünüdür. 8 Mohsluk sertlik
derecesine ait yüzeyi ve tüm boyutlar için mevcut olan 11.5 mm’lik
standart kalnl ile, Kalestone elmasa en yakn sertlikteki ürünleri
sunmaktadr. Bu ayrc özellii Kalestone'a hem iç hem d
yüzeylerde uygulanabilecek konsantre güç ve anmaya kar yüksek
direnç kazandrmaktadr.

The countless minerals found in nature all have their unique level
of hardness. For instance, nature's miracle: the diamond. Its
hardness serves as the highest point number 10 on Mohs scale of
hardness used in mineralogy. Kalestone is likewise designed with
an inspiration taken from the endurance of nature and with a stateof-the-art technology. Having a surface hardness of 8 Mohs and a
standard thickness of 11,5 mm for all sizes, Kalestone ceramic
products offer the hardness closest to the diamond. These
distinctive characteristics make Kalestone highly resistant to
concentrated force and abrasion, both on inside and
outside surfaces.

Adndan da belli olduu üzere, Twin-Press teknolojisi
iki presleme ünitesi içermektedir. lk ünite balangç
biçimini vermektedir. Karo ilk ünite tarafndan
ekillendirildikten sonra, bant üzerinde ilerleyerek
nihai-ürün tasarmnn gerektirdii ekilde üç ya da
dört bask ünitesinde ilem görür. Bu son bask ünitesi
karonun tasarmna göre belirlenen bask efektlerini
yaratan cihazlardan oluur. Bask ileminden sonra,
karo, bantta asl eklini alaca ikinci pres ünitesine
doru ilerler. Buras karoya eklini verecek olan asl
pres ünitesidir. Daha sonra karo, frnlama ileminden
önce ebadn ve eklini almas için kesme ünitesine
girer. Burada karo yeniden ekillenmesine gerek
kalmadan istenilen ölçüde biçimlendirilebilir.
Frnlama ise Kalestone'un nihai halini ald en son
ilemdir.
The Twin-Press technology...
As the name implies, the Twin-Press technology
includes two pressing units. The first pressing unit
processes the initial shaping. After the plate is shaped
by the first pressing unit, it moves on the band, to be
processed by either three or four printing units, as
required by the end-product design. These later
printing units are the drums that create the print
effects according to the design of the tile. After the
design printing process, the tile moves further on the
band for main shaping in the second heavy-weight
pressing unit. This is the main pressing unit that gives
the tile its structure. Then the tile moves further to
the cutting unit, for sizing and shaping before the
firing in the kiln. Here, the tile can be shaped in the
appropriate size without remolding. The kiln-firing
is the end of process, where Kalestone takes its final
form.

after 24 hours ), Kalekim Fugaflex ( 1-6 mm ) should be
applied for grouting in dry weather.

• Kalekim Technomax 30 should be applied on both
the front surface of the building and the back side of
the klinker tiles with a tooth-edged trowel sparing
approximately 4 mm grouts, and then klinker tiles
should be fixed on the surface. During this process the
temperature must be between +5o C - +35o C.
• After Kalekim Technomax 30 solidifies ( approximately
after 24 hours ), Kalekim Fugaflex ( 1-6 mm ) should be
applied for grouting in dry weather.

Fire and Chemical Resistance
Kalesinterflex ® is totally fire resistant and non-flammable
(Category 0). Kalesinterflex ® is also resistant to chemicals (acids
and bases) thanks to its porcelain ceramic structure and glaze layer
on its surface.
Cutting
It can be cut with standard glass and ceramic cutters, computer
controlled automatic cutting machines in the required dimensions.
Drilling
Kalesinterflex ® can be drilled with glass drills as well as with other
known automatic drilling devices.
Ease of Cleaning
Kalesinterflex ® has a smooth surface on which dirt does not
accumulate. If required it can be cleaned with water and known
cleaning agents.

düürücü atklar olabilir. Bunlar sva öncesi temizlenmelidir.
Yüzey hazrlklar bittikten sonra kaplama plan, Kalesinterflex®
ebatlar, renkleri, balangç biti noktalar, çkmalar, kap, pencere
detaylar, subasman ve parapet detaylar gibi kararlar alnarak
önceden program yaplmaldr.
Kalesinterflex®Uygulamas
Yüzeydeki tozlar frçayla alnmaldr. Baz hallerde tel frçalarda
kullanlabilir. Yaptrma yüzeyinin emiciliini azaltp, yapma
aderansn yükseltmek için bir gün içerisinde kaplamas
yaplacak alana astar frça ile sürülür.
The fundamental prerequisites for obtaining a successful
Kalesinterflex®coating on the facade plasters of the structures
expressed as the exact plumb of the facade plaster, in other
words no deviations on its surface and sufficient strength of
the facade plaster.
Another important matter is that the fresh plaster mortar has
to be allowed to set for 3 to 4 weeks, and meanwhile it has to
be cured (watering, protecting, etc.) according to the climate
conditions.
Lime must not be added to the plaster mortar. Mortar additives
(such as Kalekim Latex) may be added to the mortar, in order
to increase its workability and strength.
Before the plaster is applied, there may be adherence
hampering wastes such as oil remained from the formworks,
concrete pieces, nails and wires, on the concrete construction.
Those have to be removed before applying the plaster.
When the surface preparation is over, first, a work program
has to be prepared before application, determining the covering
plan, Kalesinterflex®dimensions, colors, starting and ending
points, protrusions, details of doors and windows, details of
subbasement and parapets.
Kalesinterflex®Application
The dust on the surface must be cleaned with a brush. Wire
brushes may be used in some cases. In order to decrease the
absorbency of the mounting surface and increase the bonding
strength, is applied on the area that can be worked in one day.

To mix the adhesive that has been selected according to the
Kalesinterflex®slab to be used for coating, a mixer with low
rotation speed should be used.

fazla kalnlkta bastrlarak sürülür. Yaptrma harcnn sürülecei

olmas önemlidir. Taraklama ileminde önce komu

The adhesive is paved by pressing on the surface to be covered,
using a plain hand trowel or the straight part of the toothed
trowel, 1 mm thicker than the trowel's notch size. The area to
be paved with the adhesive must be so large that it can be
completed within the period specified as "application period"
or "notching period" on the package of the adhesive used. This
period should be decreased in warm and windy weather. The
adhesive paved using a trowel must be notched at once with
a notched trowel until the surface is leveled. At this point the
holding angle of the notched trowel is important as well as the
even distribution of the force applied. While notching the
adhesive, which has been paved on the back side of the
Kalesinterflex®slabs, first the edge parts have to be notched
towards inside and later on the middle parts has to be notched
thoroughly, until the surface is entirely leveled.
In practice, the pavement should be applied with combined
(double pavement) method, no matter what the dimensions of
the Kalesinterflex®slabs are. In other words, the adhesive must
be both paved on the pavement surface and troweled and
paved on the entire back sides of the Kalesinterflex®slabs and
troweled with the same notched trowel. This work must be
performed on a flat table.

olursa olsun kaplama kombine (çift sürüm) yöntemi ile

Derz dolgu öncesi kaznan yaptrcnn kalntlar ve tozlar frça
ile temizlenmelidir. Daha sonra tüm Kalesinterflex®
kaplamasnn ön yüzeyine Kalekim SeraCare yüzey koruyucu
kaliteli bir süngerle veya frça ile sürülmelidir. Koruyucu
uygulandktan 4-5 saat sonra derz dolgu ilemine geçilmelidir.

been cut according to the width of the joint. Thus, a more
practical, cleaner and accurate joint gap is obtained.
The Kalesinterflex® slab which has been placed on the mortar
bed, is firmly pressed with the palm and the initial compaction
is accomplished by moving the slab 2-6 mm upward and
downward. Meanwhile, Kalesinterflex® slab must be tipped
by the palm so that the slab firmly contacts the mortar bed.
In order to obtain the firm contact of the Kalesinterflex® slab
with the mortar bed, after placing the slab first by hand, the
compaction (placement) is accomplished by tipping on the
Kalesinterflex® slab on four corners and the middle part with
the trowel, whose bottom is plastic (soft rubber).
Before grouting is applied, the remains and dusts of the adhesive
that has been removed from the joints must be cleaned with a
brush. Then Kalekim SeraCare surface protector should be
applied on the entire front surface of Kalesinterflex® coating
with a high quality sponge or a brush. 4 to 5 hours after the
protective coating is applied, the grouting may begin.
Derz dolgu harc olarak Kalekim FugaFlex kullanlmaldr. Derz
genilii 1 ile 6 mm arasnda ise Kalekim FugaFlex (1-6 mm),
6 mm fazla ise Kalekim FugaFlex (6-20 mm) seçilmelidir.
Kalekim FugaFlex should be preferred as grouting mortar. If
the joint gap is between 1 and 6 mm, Kalekim FugaFlex (1-6
mm), if the gap is wider than 6 mm, Kalekim FugaFlex (6-20)
must be selected.

The grouted joints should be continuously wiped with a wet
and clean sponge in 15-20 minutes under normal conditions.

D cephelerde en çok rastlanlan durum; havann scakl
ve/veya rüzgarn etkisiyle yaptrma harcnn çabuk kurumas
durumudur. Tekne içerisindeki ve/veya taraklanan yüzeydeki
yaptrma harcnn kurumas durumunda bu harç asla
kullanlmamaldr. Üzerine su dökerek tekrar kartrlmamaldr.
Bu gibi durumlara maruz kalmamak için hava artlarna göre az
miktarda harç yaplmal ve/veya baka önlemler alnmaldr.
Fuga derz dolgu harc torbas üzerinde yazan miktar kadar su ile kartrlr.
Dolgu ilemi kolay olsun diye karma asla fazla su katlmamaldr. Ayrca
nemli sünger ile temizlik yaplrken sünger çok sulu olmamaldr. Aksi takdirde
fuga yüzeyi çok sulu olacandan kuruma esnasnda çatlaklar oluabilir.
Dier Önemli Uyarlar
Kalesinterflex®levhalar cephede sürekli yatay yönde kaplanmaldr. Yerine
yerletirilen bir Kalesinterflex®levhalarnn üzerine yenisi yerletirmeden
önce 2–3 saatlik süre geçmelidir. Cephe düzleminde kap, pencere, iç ya da
d köe yoksa veya bunlar arasndaki mesafeler 6-7 metreden fazla ise
kaplamada kullanlan Kalesinterflex®levhalarn ebatlarna göre yatay ve
düey yönde hareket (genleme) derzleri braklmaldr. Genleme derzleri
konumlandrlrken u hususlara dikkat edilmelidir. Hareket derzleriyle
bölünmü alanlar en fazla 40-50 m2 olmaldr. Uzun kenar en fazla 8 m
olmaldr. Alann büyüklüü ne olursa olsun uzun kenarn ksa kenara oran
2’ye eit veya 2’den küçük olmaldr. Bu hususlar dorultusunda, proje
aamasnda genleme (hareket) derzlerinin yerleri tespit edilmelidir.

doldurulmaldr. Yaptrc, derz dolgu, astar ve yüzey koruyucu ürünlerinin

When the grouting surface cures sufficiently so as not to allow
deformation, a final cleaning should be done with a dry cloth.
The tile adhesive may dry too quickly due to weather
temperature and/or wind effect; this is one of the most common
issues for facades. In case the adhesive in the container and/or
on the notched surface dries, it must never be used. It mustn't
be mixed again by adding water. In order not to suffer such
conditions, little amounts of mortar must be mixed and/or other
measures must be taken according to weather conditions.
The grouting mortar has to be mixed with water in the ratio shown on the
pack. Too much water must never be added to make the grouting work
easier. In addition, while cleaning with wet sponge, the sponge should not
contain too much water. Otherwise, cracks may be formed during curing,
as the grouting mortar surface will be too wet.
Other Important Notes
Kalesinterflex®slabs must be coated on the facade always in horizontal
direction. Before placing a Kalesinterflex®slab over another that has been
already placed, 2-3 hours must be allowed. If there are no doors, windows,
inner or outer corners on the facade surface, or the distance between them
is more than 6-7 meters, vertical and horizontal movement (expansion)
joints must be left in between, according to the dimensions of Kalesinterflex®
slabs used. The following point has to be kept in mind while positioning
the expansion joints. The areas divided by the expansion joints must be
40-50 m2 maximum. The long edge has to be 8 m maximum. Whatever the
area of the surface is, the ratio of the long edge to the short edge must be
equal to or less than 2. Considering those matters, the locations of the
expansion (movement) joints have to be determined in the planning stage.
The expansion joints should be filled with Kalekim KalePolyMas
polyurethane sealant. The application instructions of the adhesive, grout,
primer and surface protective products have to be followed. The works has
to be suspended over 35°
C and under 5°
C weather temperature or under
very windy or rainy weather conditions. Work safety rules must be invariably
followed while working on the catwalk.

Siding System Fixed on External Thermal Sheathing With Adhesive
Yapnn s geçirgenlik direncini artrarak yap içi ve d arasndaki
istenmeyen s geçiini en aza indirmek amacyla; yap bileenleri
üzerinde, farkl scaklktaki iki ortam (d-iç) arasndaki s geçiini
azaltmak için yaplan dtan s yaltm (mantolama) sistemi,
doru seçilmi malzeme ve uygun içilik yaplarda çok yüksek
düzeyde s tasarrufu salayabilmektedir. Bu sistem üzerine
yaptrma yöntemi ile Kalesinterflex®kaplanmasnn
yaplabilmesinin ön art mantolamann düey yönde terazisinde,
yatay yönde mastarnda (ayn düzlemde) olmas gerekmektedir.
Bu art salamann en doru yolu mantolamaya altlk tekil eden
cephe kaba svasnn doru karm oranlaryla (350-400 dz.
çimento harc - 2-2,5 cm - kireçsiz) düeyde tam terazisinde
yaplmasyla ancak mümkün olabilmektedir.
Kalesinterflex®kaplamasna altlk tekil edecek olan mantolama
sisteminin uygulamasnda dikkat edilmesi gereken dier baz
önemli hususlar öyle sralanabilir:
Seçilen s yaltm plakas kalnlna uygun ölçülerde subasman
profili, subasman seviyesinin 20-30 cm alt ksmna özel dübeli
ile ipinde ve terazisinde tespit edilir.
Yaltm levhalar yaptrma amacyla özel olarak üretilmi
yaptrclar ile yüzeye yaptrlmaldr.
Cephe düzleminde (yatay-düey) ufak (0,5-3 cm) bozukluluklar
varsa noktasal ve erit yaptrma yöntemi kullanlmaldr. Bu
noktada yaptrcnn levhann arkasna en az %40 orannda temas
etmi olmasna ve yaptrc kalnlnn 3 cm geçmemesine dikkat
edilmelidir. Yerine yerletirilen levhann arkasndaki yaptrc
kalnl 1-1,5 cm civarnda olmaldr.
Düzlem hatas olmayan cephelerde 10x10 mm ölçülerinde tarakl
mala ile uygulama yaplabilir. Bu ilemde taraklanan yaptrcnn
kabuklamamasna dikkat edilmelidir.
D köelerde rüzgar yüküne kar daha mukavim bir yap
oluturmak için köe profilleri tercih edilmelidir. Bu profiller
artmal ve her tarafna yaptrc harç gelecek ekilde
uygulanmaldr.
Levhalar artmal ve bindirmeli ekilde uygulanmaldr.
Yaptrma ilemine ilave olarak plakalarn sürekliliini ve
performansn uzun ömürlü sürdürmesi için mekanik olarak
dübelleme yaplmaldr. Dübelleme, yaptrma ileminden 24
saat sonra yapnn yükseklii ve yüzey özelliklerine göre tarif
edilmi; derinlikte, sayda ve dübel tipinde uygulanmaldr.
Levhalar direkt tula duvar üzerine döenmemelidir. Döendii takdirde
dübel pimi çakldnda dübel içinde iip tutunabilecei bir yer bulamayaca
için tulann içinde serbest olarak ier ve serbest salnr. Zaman içinde
rüzgarnda etkisiyle yerinden çkmaya balar. Sisteme takviye olarak yaplan
dübel aksine zarar vermeye balar.
The sheathing from the outside of the construction in order to
increase the resistance against heat conduction and to minimize
the heat transfer between the outside and inside of the
construction, may provide very high levels of heat savings,
provided sheathing is performed with the materials selected
correctly, utilizing appropriate craftsmanship. The prerequisite
for applying Kalesinterflex®on this system is having the
sheathing in exact leveling horizontally and in exact plumbing
vertically. The best way to accomplish this prerequisite is to
make the brown coating, which forms the basis of the sheathing,
exactly plumb vertically with correct mixture ratios (350-400
dose cement mortar, 2-2.5 cm, without lime.
Other important points in applying the sheathing system, which
will form the basis of the Kalesinterflex® covering, are as
follows:
The subbasement shape with the measurements suitable for
the thickness of the selected heat insulation slab is attached
20-30 cm lower than the subbasement level with its special
anchor, in line and plumb.
The insulation slabs should be mounted on the surface, using
the adhesive cements that have been particularly produced
for this purpose.
If there are little (0.5-3 cm) irregularities on the facade surface
(horizontal-vertical), strap-mounting method should be used.
At this point, due care should be taken to provide at least 40%
contact of the adhesive with back of the slab and to prevent
the thickness of the adhesive to exceed 3 cm. The thickness of
the adhesive behind the slab that has been mounted should
be approximately 1-1.5.
On the facades with no plane errors, the application may be
performed with 10x10 mm notched trowel. During this
application, care should be taken not to allow hardening and
crust forming of the notched adhesive.
Corner shapes have to be preferred for the outer corners, in
order to form a stronger structure against wind loads. Those
shapes have to be applied in zig-zag pattern and so that the
cement sticks to all parts of them. The slabs have to be applied
in zig-zag pattern and overlapping manner.
In addition to bonding, mechanical doweling has to be

If this is done, when the dowel pin is driven in, it will not have the necessary
surfaces to hold onto after expanding and therefore will expand freely and
move freely inside the brick. It will begin to get loose in time with the effect
of the wind. The dowel that has been made as a support to the system,
begins to harm the system, contrary to the purpose.

The diameter of the drill bit to be used for the dowel should be 1 mm larger
than the diameter of the dowel. If the hole of the anchor is drilled in the
same diameter with the dowel, the anchor cannot be driven in completely
when hammered and a part of it will remain outside. Therefore, the dowel
will not be able to expand inside the plaster and to hold itself in the hole;
consequently it will begin to come out due to environmental impacts (wind,
pulling and bending forces, etc.).
Kartrma ilemi bittikten sonra yaptrma harc uygulama öncesi
olgunlamas için 5 dakika dinlendirilmelidir. Hazrlanan harç 1-1,5 saat
içerisinde mutlaka tüketilmelidir. Çalma ortam çok scak veya rüzgarl ise
bu süre düürülmelidir.
When the mixing is over, a period of 5 minutes should be allowed for curing
of the tile adhesive before application. The mixture prepared must be
definitely consumed within 1-1.5 hours time. If the working environment
is too warm or windy, this period should be decreased.

Normal hava koullar altnda (20°C) mantolama sisteminin
üzerine yaplan son kat sva uygulamasndan 3 gün sonra
Kalesinterflex®uygulamasna geçilebilir.
Uygulama Aamalar
Yüzey düey yönde terazisinde olmaldr. Tek katl yaplarda
düey dorultu mastar ve teraziyle, çok katl yaplarda ise akül,
ip, nivo vb. araçlarla kontrol edilmelidir. Düzlemde ufak
sapmalar tespit edildii takdirde bunlar yeni sva harcyla lokal
giderilmelidir.
Kalesinterflex®levhann arka ksmna sürülecek yaptrc eit kalnlkta tüm
yüzeye sürülmelidir. Bu ilem zaman alc olduundan uygulama süresi çok
iyi ayarlanmaldr. Duvar yüzeyine sürülen ve taraklanan harcn
kabuklamasna izin verilmemelidir.
Uygulamada kullanlacak olan tarakl malann di ölçüleri Kalesinterflex®
levhann ebatlarna ve kaplama yüzeyinin aderansna (tutma-tutunma)
durumuna göre tespit edilmelidir. 50x50 cm ve alt ebatlarndaki

and long life. The doweling has to be applied 24 hours after
cement mounting, using the number and type of anchors and
to the depth as explained in accordance with the height and
surface characteristics of the structure.
The primary plaster coat is applied right after the doweling
operation. In order to obtain a homogenous thickness, the
primary coat of the plaster is finished using a notched trowel
with a notch size of 3-5 mm thickness.
The primary coat of the plaster and the net to be placed on it
should be applied by two cratfsmen in order to prevent drying
of the plaster mortar.
The plaster nets should be applied so that they overlap for
10 cm. The net to be used should be 160 gr/m2 and it has to be
resistant to alkali impact posed by the cement.
Additional support net has to be placed in the primary coat of
the plaster, at the edges of the doors and windows, which are
the weak locations of the facade. The second plaster coat has
to be applied before the first cures. When making the second
coat of plaster, care should be taken to prevent replacement
of furnishing net and its insertion into the primary plaster coat.
Kalesinterflex®Application
Under normal weather conditions (20°
C), Kalesinterflex®
application may be started 3 days after the final coat of the
plaster is applied on the sheathing system.
The adhesive to be paved on the back of Kalesinterflex®slab must be evenly
paved on the entire surface. Since this work is time consuming, the
application period must be arranged very well. The adhesive paved on the
wall surface and notched must not be allowed to harden and form a crust.
The notch size of the notched trowel to be used for the application should
be determined in accordance with the dimensions of the Kalesinterflex®
slabs and the adherence (bonding, sticking) properties of the surface to be
covered. For 50x50 cm and smaller Kalesinterflex®slabs a notched trowel
with 4x4x4 mm notch size will be sufficient both for the bonding surface
and for notching the back surface of the Kalesinterflex®slab. For slabs larger
than 50x50 cm, notched trowel with 6x6x6 mm notch size should be used
for the surface to be covered and one with 4x4x4 mm notch, for notching
the back of the Kalesinterflex®slabs.

If the surface to be covered is undulated, this cannot be eliminated using
tile adhesives. Because notched trowel follows the shape of the surface.
Therefore, although the notch depth seems the same at all points, there will
be parts that will not tack to the surface, even if adhesive is paved on the
back of the Kalesinterflex®slabs due to undulation. In such conditions, the
surface has to be examined beforehand and the necessary repairs have to
be completed before the application. Especially it may be delusive at the
edges and corners; when continuous force is applied on the Kalesinterflex®
slab by hand, the flexibility of the Kalesinterflex®slab will cause the mortar
to contact until the force is released. However, when the force is removed,
the flexibility of the Kalesinterflex®slabs will cause the part of the slab,
which have been bent, to tend to straighten and detach from the adhesive.
If the undulation is not so much, the Kalesinterflex®slabs will hold the
adhesive during straightening and this will not be an issue. However, if
there is much undulation on the surface, the adhesive will either detach
from the surface (low probability) or from the mounting surface of the
Kalesinterflex®slab.

While Kalesinterflex®is being placed on the mortar bed; point forces must
not be applied. Therefore, compaction should be accomplished using a
plastic hammer, wooden hammer, the handle of the trowel or handle of the
hammer. For this, soft tools with large contact area (such as trowels) should
be used.

Application Stages
The surface has to be vertically plumb. For single-storey
buildings, the vertical angle has to be checked with a gage lath
or a water level; for multi-storey buildings this has to be done
using plumb lines, strings or other similar leveling tools. If little
deviations are observed on the surface, they have to be
eliminated using new plaster mortars.
The surface is checked using an aluminum gage lath of sufficient
length, both horizontally and diagonally. The gage lath has to
contact the surface exactly.
In order to decrease the absorbency of the pavement and
increase the bonding strength, Kalekim is applied on the area
that can be worked in one day. The primer should be applied
twice on very absorbent surfaces. 45 to 60 minutes after the
primer is applied (23°
C), the main application is commenced.
If the environment is too warm or windy, this period may be
decreased.

In order to mount the Kalesinterflex®slabs in the same direction
on horizontal plane, the first row is skipped and a horizontal
aluminum lath with sufficient length is attached at the bottom
of the second row with exact leveling. When the lath height is
calculated, it should be arranged so that a complete
Kalesinterflex®slab will fit into the first skipped row and to a
joint gap between the first and the second row is provided.

Tile adhesive is paved with a thickness of approximately 5 mm,
on a part of area of the surface that can be completed in 10

The adhesive paved using a trowel must be notched at once
with a notched trowel until the surface is leveled. At this point
the holding angle of the harrow is important as well as the even
distribution of the force applied.

The main reason for scratching the joints is to adjust the width/depth ratio
of the grouting mortar. If this operation is not done, since the depth
(thickness) of the grouting mortar will be small, cracks may be formed in a
short time. The tile adhesive in the gaps of the joints has to be absolutely
removed.

Derz çubuklar 50x100 cm ve alt ebatlar için en erken 24 saat
sonra alnabilir. Bu noktada derz çubuklar çkartlrken çok
dikkatli olunmaldr. Sert, bastrarak veya ani kuvvet uygulayarak
çubuklar çkartlmamaldr.
Derz Dolgu
Derz dolgu öncesi; kaznan yaptrcnn kalntlar ve tozlar frça
ile temizlenmelidir. Daha sonra tüm Kalesinterflex®
kaplamasnn ön yüzeyine Kalekim SeraCare yüzey koruyucu
kaliteli bir süngerle veya frça ile sürülmelidir. Koruyucu
uygulandktan 4–5 saat sonra derz dolgu ilemine geçilmelidir.
Derz dolgu harc olarak Kalekim FugaFlex kullanlmaldr. Derz
genilii 1 ile 6 mm arasnda ise Kalekim FugaFlex (1-6 mm), 6
mm fazla ise Kalekim FugaFlex (6-20 mm) seçilmelidir.
Derz dolgu harc derz malas ile bastrlarak derzlere iyice
doldurulmaldr. Temizlik ve pratiklik açsndan dolgu harcn
Kalesinterflex®levhann bütün yüzeyine sürmeye gerek yoktur
sadece derz boluuna yedirerek sürmek yeterli olacaktr.
Dolgusu yaplan derzler normal koullarda 15-20 dakika
içerisinde, scak ve rüzgarl havalarda 10-15 dakika içerisinde
(hatta daha da ksa süre içinde) derhal nemli ve sürekli temiz
bir süngerle silinmelidir.
Dolgu yüzeyi, ekli bozulmayacak derecede kuruduktan sonra
kuru bir bez ile son kez temizlik yaplmaldr.
Derz dolgu ilemi bitikten 24 saat sonra tüm kaplama yüzeyine
(derz dolgular dahil) Kalekim SeraCare yüzey koruyucu
sürülmesi kaplamann su iticiliine ve zamanla oluabilecek
kirlerin kolay temizlenmesine yardmc olacaktr.
Fuga derz dolgu harc torbas üzerinde yazan miktar kadar su ile kartrlr.
Dolgu ilemi kolay olsun diye karma asla fazla su katlmamaldr. Ayrca
nemli sünger ile temizlik yaplrken sünger çok sulu olmamaldr. Aksi takdirde

The Kalesinterflex®slab which has been placed on the mortar
bed is firmly pressed with the palm and the initial compaction
is accomplished by moving the slab 2-6 mm upward and
downward. Meanwhile, Kalesinterflex®slab must be tipped by
the palm so that the slab firmly contacts the mortar bed.
In order to obtain the firm contact of the Kalesinterflex®slab
with the cement bed, after pacing the slab first by hand, the
compaction (placement) is accomplished by tipping on the
Kalesinterflex®slab on four corners and the middle part with
the edger, whose bottom is plastic (soft rubber).
Kalesinterflex®must be mounted with joint gaps in accordance
with the dimensions of the slabs and the heat cycles of the area
it is applied in. It must not be mounted without joints (with 0
joints).
The joint gaps of the Kalesinterflex®coating must be scratched
with a suitable wooden wedge until the plaster surface
underneath and thus the adhesive must be removed before it
completely cures, thus the joint gaps are prepared for grouting.
For cement-based adhesives, this procedure must be completed
within approximately 60-90 minutes (though this changes
according to the environment conditions). If this is not
completed in the specified period and postponed to the next
day, the joint scratching work becomes very difficult and too
much time is lost, even the covering may be damaged.
The best method of cleaning the adhesive in the joints is as
follows: Before Kalesinterflex®is placed, the notched adhesive
at the edges of the other adjacent (at right, left or below)
Kalesinterflex®slabs is removed with a piece of Kalesinterflex®
that has been cut according to the width of the joint. Thus, a
more practical, cleaner and accurate joint gap is obtained.
The joint sticks may be removed at least 24 hours later for
50x150 cm and smaller slabs and 48 hours later for 100x300
cm dimensions. At this point, the joint sticks must be removed
with utmost care. The sticks must not be removed harshly by
pressing or applying sudden forces.
Grouting
Before grouting is applied, the remains and dusts of the adhesive
that has been removed from the joints must be cleaned with a
brush.
Then Kalekim SeraCare surface protective coating should be
applied on the entire front surface of Kalesinterflex®covering
with a high quality sponge or a brush. 4 to 5 hours after the
protective coating is applied, the grouting may begin.
Kalekim FugaFlex should be used as grouting mortar. If the joint
gap is between 1 and 6 mm, Kalekim Fugaflex (1-6 mm), if the
gap is wider than 6 mm, Kalekim FugaFlex (6-20) must be
selected.
The grouting mortar has to be adequately filled into the joints,
pressing with the trowel. For cleanliness and practicability, the
grouting mortar does not need to be spread over the entire
The grouting mortar has to be mixed with water in the ratio shown on the
pack. Too much water must never be added to make the grouting work
easier. In addition, while cleaning with wet sponge, the sponge should not
contain too much water. Otherwise, cracks may be formed during curing,
as the grouting mprtar surface will be too wet.

Dier Önemli Uyarlar
Kalesinterflex®levhalar cephede sürekli yatay yönde kaplanmaldr. Yerine
yerletirilen bir Kalesinterflex®levhann üzerine yenisi yerletirmeden önce
2–3 saatlik süre geçmelidir. Cephe düzleminde kap, pencere, iç yada d
köe yoksa veya bunlar arasndaki mesafeler 6-7 metreden fazla ise
kaplamada kullanlan Kalesinterflex®levhalarn ebatlarna göre yatay ve
düey yönde hareket (genleme) derzleri braklmaldr. Genleme derzleri
konumlandrlrken u hususlara dikkat edilmelidir. Hareket derzleriyle
bölünmü alanlar en fazla 40-50 m2 olmaldr. Uzun kenar en fazla 8 m
olmaldr. Alann büyüklüü ne olursa olsun uzun kenarn ksa kenara oran
2’ye eit veya 2’den küçük olmaldr. Bu hususlar dorultusunda, proje
aamasnda genleme (hareket) derzlerinin yerleri tespit edilmeli mantolama
sistemi oluturulurken de mantolamann bir parças olan dilatasyon
profilleriyle de ayn düzlem ve dorultuda yürütülmelidir. Genleme derzleri

The grouted joints should be continuously wiped with a wet
and clean sponge in 15-20 minutes under normal conditions
and in 10-15 (even shorter) minutes in warm and windy
conditions.
When the grouting surface cures sufficiently so as not to allow
deformation, a final cleaning should be done with a dry cloth.
24 hours after the grouting work is over, applying Kalekim
SeraCare surface protector on the entire surface (including the
grout) will help water repelling of the surface and easy cleaning
of the dirt that may be formed in time.
Kalekim SeraCare surface protective coating may be applied
on the surface with a brush, a sponge or a mini paint roller. It
doesn't matter which tool is used in practice, but the surface
protective coating must be applied always in the same direction
without pressing too much. However, it is ready for use. Water
must not be added.
When surface protective coating application work is over,
applying Kalekim SeraCare surface protective coating as a
second layer on the grouting will additionally help water
repelling of the grouting and enable them to be more resistant
against weather conditions.
Other Important Notes
Kalesinterflex®slabs must be covered on the facade always in horizontal
direction. Before placing a Kalesinterflex®slab over another that has been
already placed, 2-3 hours must be allowed. If there are no doors, windows,
inner or outer corners on the facade surface, or the distance between them
is more than 6-7 meters, vertical and horizontal movement (expansion)
joints must be left in between, according to the dimensions of Kalesinterflex®
slabs used. The following point has to be kept in mind while positioning
the expansion joints. The areas divided by the expansion joints must be
40-50 m2 maximum. The long edge has to be 8 m maximum. Whatever the
area of the surface is, the ratio of the long edge to the short edge must be
equal to or less than 2. Considering those matters, the locations of the
expansion (movement) joints have to be determined in the planning stage
and when the sheathing system is formed, it must be conducted in the same
plane and direction as the dilatation shapes which is a part of the siding.
The expansion joints should be filled with Kalekim KalePolyMas
polyurethane sealant. The application instructions of the cement, grouting,
primer and surface protective products has to be followed. The works has
to be suspended over 35°
C and under 5°
C weather temperature or under
very wind or rainy weather conditions. The siding system has to be built in
accordance with its rules. Work safety rules must be invariably followed
while working on the catwalk.

site, the Kalesinterflex®panel layout drawings are prepared as
per the standard details (provided as an appendix to the
specifications).
> Anchorages are fastened on the façade plane as per the
drawings which have been prepared.
> Vertical carrier aluminium T profiles are fixed on the
anchorages at approximately 8 to 15 cm in front of the façade
plane, with nuts and bolts.
> Aluminium horizontal mounting profiles are glued using
polyurethane based adhesives on the back side of the
Kalesinterflex®plates dimensioned as per the designs, in such
a way that the maximum distance from axis to axis is 50 cm. As
for the axis diameters exceeding 50 cm, panel is formed by
adding an adequate number of middle mounting profiles,
alongside the horizontal length.
> The Kalesinterflex®panels prepared are fixed on T profiles
using aluminium clips with wedges.

görünüü oldukça benzerdir.
V3= ÖNEML FARKLILIK: Bir karoda bulunan renkler dier karolardaki renkler hakknda bilgi vermekle
birlikte renk younluunda önemli derecede farkllk gösterir. Karo üzerinde önemsiz gibi görünen bir
renk dier bir karo üzerinde arlkl renk olabilir.
V4= RASTGELE FARKLILIK: Bir karo dier bir karoya göre tamamen farkl renkte olabilir. Bu karolar
tüketici tarafndan birkaç parça çkartlacak ekilde seçilemezler. Renk farkllklarndan dolay karolarda

The color shade or shades of all tiles varies some degree from piece to piece, from each production run
to run. At least several pieces from the same production should be reviewed whenever possible to
determine acceptable color shade variations. Any questions or concerns about your tile selection should
be clarified prior to installation.
V1= UNIFORM APPEARANCE: Differences among pieces from the same production run are minimal.
V2= SLIGHT VARIATION: Clearly distinguishable differences in texture and/or pattern within similar
colors.
V3= MODERATE VARIATION: While the colors present on a single piece of tile will be indicative of the
colors to be expected on the other tiles, the amount of colors on each piece may vary significantly. For
example “that little bit of color” on one piece of tile may be the primary color on the next piece.
V4= RANDOM VARIATION: Random color differences from tile to tile, so that one tile may have totally
different colors from that on other tiles. Thus, the final installation will be unique.
