Course Learning
Outcomes
The students who succeeded in this course;
• To learn the main features of the IMF led
stand-by arrangements, and the structural
adjustment process in general terms and in Turkey.
• To understand the scope, and the content of the
liberalization policies with special reference to
Turkey’s experience
• To learn the nature of the external financial
liberalization and its impact on economic policy in
Turkey
• To understand main economic and financial
mechanisms leading Turkish economy to 1994,
2000, and 2001 financial/economic crisis.
• To understand the content, and the impact of the
18th and 19th stand-by arrangements, the nature
of the structural reforms, and the impact of the
2008-2009 global economic-financial crisis on
Turkey.
