1993 yılında Eidgenösische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETH) Elektrik Mühendisliği Fakültesi’nden
mezun olmasının ardından, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) ve Polytechnic Institue of NYU
üniversitelerinde doktora programına girdi ve elektrofizik ve teknoloji MBA konularında yüksek lisans
derecesi alarak mezun oldu.
1998-2005 yıllarında Lucent Technologies Bell Laboratories’de (New Jersey) fiberoptik ağ sistemleri
gurubunda Ar-Ge mühendisi, uzman danışman ve uzman eğitimci olarak görev aldı. Bu süre zarfında
Verizon, BT, Telia, Deutsche Telekom, Global Crossing, Qwest ve UPC şirketlerinin değişiklik kıtalardaki
elektro-optik ağ altyapılarının kurulumlarını üstlendi. New York’taki Lucent Worldwide Services grubunda
‘Knowledge Management’, ‘Competency Management’ ve ‘Telekom Teknolojileri’ alanlarında
danışmanlık yaptı.
2006 senesinden bu yana Arkan & Ergin Kurumsal Finansman bünyesinde Türkiye’de telekomünikasyon,
yenilenebilir enerji ve girişimcilik eko sistemi içinde şirket yapılandırma danışmanı olarak çalışmaktadır.
Türkiye Startup Ekosistemi ve Girişimciliğin geliştirilmesi üzerine belli başlı üniversiteler dışında
uluslararası şirketlere 50’den fazla seminer vermiştir. Son senelerde birçok iş planı yarışması(20+) ve
startup şirketinin (100+) hayata geçmesinde rol oynamıştır. Özellikle Biotech şirketleri ve kümelenmesi
üzerine birçok çalışması bulunmaktadır. MIT Enterprise Forum Türkiye kurucu başkanıdır ve Endeavor
Türkiye danışma kurulunda bulunmaktadır
2012 senesinden beri Türkiye’deki İsviçre Ticaret Odası’nın başkanlığını üstlenmiştir. Dış Ekonomik
İlişkiler Kurulu (DEIK) İsviçre Konseyi Başkan Vekilliğini yapmıştır. Ege Üniversitesi Teknopark kurucu
yönetim kurulu üyesi ve Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Melek Yatırım Ağı kurucu yönetim kurulu üyesidir.

After graduating from Eidgenösische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETH) with a degree in Electrical
Engineering in 1993, Mr. Taskent joined Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Polytechnic
Institute of New York University for the PhD program and received graduate degrees in Electrophysics and
Technology MBA.
During 1998-2005, he worked as a R&D engineer, expert consultant and instructor at Lucent Technologies
Bell Laboratories in New Jersey. During that timeframe he lead major fiberoptic transmission system
deployments for Verizon, BT, Telia, Deutsche Telekom, Global Crossing, Qwest, and UPC around the
globe. Furthermore, he has consulted in the areas of Knowledge Management, Competency Management
and Telecommunications Technologies as part of Lucent Worldwide Services (LWS) in New York
Since 2006, as Partner of Arkan & Ergin Corporate Finance, he has been working in telecommunications,
renewable energy, and in startup ecosystem as company restructuring advisor in Turkey. He has presented
over 50 seminars (major universities and multinational corporations) the Turkish Startup Ecosystem and the
Growth of Entrepreneurship in Turkey. He has served as jury on 20+ business plan competitions and helped
professionally to establish over 100 startups. Focusing especially on Biotech companies and supporting
clustering in that field in Izmir. He is the founding President of MIT Enterprise Forum in Turkey and an
active member at the Advisory Board of the Endeavor Turkey.
Since 2012, Doğan Taşkent is the Chairman of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Turkey. He is founding
Board member of the Ege University Technopark and founding Board Member of the Dokuz Eylül
University Business Angel Network.

Nach dem Abschluss seines Studiums in Elektrotechnik an der ETH Zürich 1993 nahm Doğan Taşkent am
Doktoratsprogramm des Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) und der Polytechnic University of
New York teil. Er erhielt eine Graduierung in Elektrophysik und Technologie MBA.
Von 1998 bis 2005 arbeitete er als R&D Ingenieur, Expert Consultant und Ausbildner am Lucent
Technologies Bell Laboratories in New Jersey. Gleichzeitig leitete er die Bereitstellung von faseroptischen
Übertragungssysteme für Verizon, BT, Telia, Deutsche Telekom, Global Crossing, Qwest und UPC.
Zudem beriet er für Lucent Worldwide Services (LWS) in New York in den Bereichen
Wissensmanagement, Kompetenzmanagement und Telekommunikationstechnologien. In den letzten Jahren
spielte er eine wichtige Rolle bei der Erstellung von Geschäftsplänen sowie Unterstützung von diversen
Start-Up-Unternehmen.
Seit 2006 ist Doğan Taşkent in der Türkei als Berater für Telekommunikation, erneuerbare Energien und
Umstrukturierung von Unternehmen tätig. Er ist Präsident der Schweizer Handelskammer in der Türkei seit
2012 und Vize-Präsident des Schweizer Gremiums für DEIK (Organisation für ausländische
Wirtschaftsbeziehungen). Zudem ist Doğan Taşkent Mitglied im Beratungsausschuss von Endeavor
Turkey.
