Dear parents,
On this page you will see the grammar subjects, vocabulary and the activities that
were covered so far. To support the learning process, the foreign teacher does
activity hours. So learning becomes enjoyable for the students. At the end of the
activity hour the students create a project of their own. The lessons are conducted in
accordance with the new system that contributes to thinking skills.

Creative Thinking Abilities
DREAM TOWN
The students created their dream towns in creative thinking lessons and presented
them to their friends.
PowerPoint
At the end of February the fourth graders had a Power Point lesson to review vocabulary, plot
and grammar topics from the reader, “Around the World in 80 Days”. The students have read a
comic book version of the Jules Verne classic novel. Each student was given the opportunity to
come up to the computer and do some of the interactive review activities on the “Around the
World in 80 Days” multi-rom. The students were very successful at remembering the terms,
filling the missing words and even using some of the book’s vocabulary in a slightly different
context.
Reading Hour
Towards the end of the 1st semester students had a chance to analyze the setting of a given
story by using their senses. Another fun project we had was called ‘Sell It’. Students had to
think of ways to sell/advertise the book they had read. They were asked to think of what would
be liked and what wouldn’t be liked in the story. They were asked to write a slogan and in the end
of the project, they all got a chance to present their advertisement to the class.
When the second semester started the students first project was making an Acrostic Poem with
the main character’s name. The poem included information about the character.
The following week the students were given a timeline to show the events that occur in a given
story according to the main character. They were also asked to draw related objects around or
as a point to write in.
The latest project we have been working on is preparing a Character Scrapbook. They have
different pages to fill out about the character and about the story’s events. Then they will cut
out the pages and staple them together to create their own mini book about the character and
the story.

göreceksiniz. Öğrenimi kalıcı ve zevkli bir hale getirmek için yabancı öğretmenimiz
çeşitli aktiviteler yapar. Aktivite saatinin sonunda öğrenciler bir proje üretirler. İngilizce
derslerinde öğretim Düşünme Becerileri Sistemine göre yapıldığından aşamalı ve
sistematik bir biçimde uygulama yapılır.

AKTİVİTELER
Düşünme Becerileri Sentez etkinliği
Öğrencilerimiz düşünme becerileri saati için kendi hayallerindeki evi oluşturup
arkadaşlarına tanıttılar.
Bilgisayar Destekli Sunum:
Öğrencilerimiz Şubat ayı sonunda “Seksen Günde Devr-i Alem” isimli kitaplarından
öğrendikleri kelimeleri ve gramer yapılarını bilgisayar destekli sunumlar aracılığıyla
tekrar ettiler. Her öğrenciye kitabın interaktif etkinliklerine katılma şansı verildi.
Öğrencilerimiz kitapta adı geçen terimleri hatırlamada ve kitabın kelimelerini farklı
bağlamlarda kullanarak yeni cümleler oluşturma konusunda çok başarılı oldular.
Okuma Saatleri:
Öğrencilerimiz 1. dönemin sonuna doğru okudukları hikâyenin geçtiği yeri duyu
organlarını kullanarak analiz ettiler. Ayrıca okudukları kitap ile ilgili “Sat Bakalım!”
isimli bir proje yaptılar. Öğrencilerimiz bu projede okudukları kitabı nasıl
satabileceklerini, kitabın en sevdikleri ve sevmedikleri bölümlerini düşünerek çeşitli
sloganlar yazdılar ve sınıf arkadaşlarına sundular.
2. dönemin ilk projesi hikâyedeki karakter ile ilgili Akrostiş Şiir yazmaktı. İkinci projesi
bir zaman çizelgesi üzerine okuduğumuz hikâyedeki karakterin başına gelen olayları
resimlerle anlatmaktı.
Şu anda üzerinde çalıştığımız proje ise bir “Character Scrapbook” yaratmak. Bu
projede, öğrencilerimiz verilen bir hikâyedeki karakter hakkında küçük bir kitap
hazırlıyorlar.
