ÖZLEM KALKAN ERENUS
Graduated from Istanbul Lisesi (High School) in 1989 and Istanbul University, Faculty of
Business Administration in 1993, Erenus attended Faculty of Business Administration at
METU - Middle Eastern Technical University as special student in 1994. She took her MA
degree on “Art Theory and Criticism” at Istanbul Işık University, Department of Art Science in
2012 with her dissertation on the corpus of Marcel Duchamp’s works.
She is working in her private studio in Ataköy, Istanbul. Beside her artistic creation she is
writing freelance in art field and her articles, interviews and translations are being published
in several art magazines, along with peer-reviewed publications. Her first book "Marcel
Duchamp – His Art and Philosophy" is published in April 2014 by Tekhne Publications.

Selected Participation in International Projects:

By the invitation of TransCultural Exchange Foundation (Boston - USA) she cooperated with Northern Irish artist Tommy Barr for the project “Stand My Ground,
Stand Your Ground”, which took part at the global project “Here, There And
Everywhere: Anticipating The Art of the Future” among 60 projects selected from all
around the world.
In October 2008, Istanbul leg of the project-show was held in the showcases of
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Taksim Art Gallery and the Northern Ireland
Exhibition was shown at Derry Museum. Finally the video presentation of the project
including both venues was shown at the conference “International Opportunities in
the Arts” held by TCE in Boston, April 2009.

By the invitation of TransCultural Exchange (Boston - USA) she designed 22 pieces of
ceramic tiles, to be installed with tiles of 100 artists from different countries, at 22
different sites around the world for "The Tile Project, Destination: The World". (2004)

