represent NNESHRM and increase leadership skills. This
conference subsidy may be used to pay for all or part of:



The conference registration fee.
Travel by common carrier or personally-owned vehicle (POV).
If the travel is by common carrier, the subsidy will be based
on the lowest available cost for that type of carrier, taking
into consideration advance-purchase low-cost fares. If the
travel is by POV, the subsidy will be based
on the approved IRS rates for business mileage.
Lodging for the number of days the conference is held in
the lowest-cost conference hotel or one of equal or lesser
cost.
CONFERENCE SUBSIDY- CHAPTER MEMBERS



Chapter members may apply for subsidization of all or part of a
conference registration fee to attend the ASHRM annual
conference or New England Regional Annual Conference.
Additionally, NNESHRM will attempt to provide one or more
annual education days at little or no cost to its members. The
amount available for these subsidies will be determined at the
annual Board retreat and will be included in the budget for the
year. The amount budgeted may be adjusted based on the
NNESHRM’s financial situation at the time the subsidies are
made.

“Flashmail”. The President shall appoint an active member as Chair of the committee.”
2011 Members:
Chair – Bill Zuber(Board Member)
Cynthia Bridgham (Board Member)
Vacant
2011 GOALS:
•
Bill Zuber to take over as Chair.
–
•
Will review/ update website.
–
–
–
•
Communications and Membership Committees swapped Chairs at the
beginning of the year.
The Board discussed the desired functionality and purpose of the
NNESHRM website, and how this has changed since its inception
Defined what the role of the website is for the organization
Elected to move forward with updating the website and possible
connections with ASHRM
Further explore ASHRM support for linked website.
–
–
Jay Purcell and Bill Zuber voluntered to serve on ASHRM’s Chapter
Leadership Committee.
Will seek advancement of national assistance to have ASHRM host
chapter websites to support consistency of format and content, and
provide stronger link to national organization. (Not happening. . . . . . .yet)
ROLE/PURPOSE OF THE NNESHRM WEBSITE
•
Provide access to relevant timely information for society members
–
–
–
•
Be the central repository for current and historical documents
–
–
–
–
•
Posting educational opportunities
Mechanisms to share current minutes from Board meetings and
educational session materials
Provide linkages for members (member lists)
Posting for upcoming and recent educational events (registration forms)
Membership application forms
Bylaws
Maintain historical information for the society (old bylaws, minutes, etc
“behind the scenes”)
Provide central access for Board Members for regular meetings
–
One place to post agenda, attachments, meeting minutes, etc.
WHAT THE WEBSITE WILL NOT BE:
•
Wiki will go away
–
–
–
–
–
•
Links page
–
–
•
Old technology, very “klunky” and not user friendly
ASHRM Exchange is a wider forum with better information, can set up
groups within Exchange if there is interest
We all have enough emails and listserves to deal with, who has time for the
Wiki?
Other than Board members, not used all that much
Better communication tool appears to be FLASHMAIL, so we will use that
medium for communication
Will either go away, or be greatly reduced
Are you going to go the NNESHRM website to look for a link or are you going
to Google? (Be truthful now. . . . )
Job Postings
–
Will be sent through FLASHMAIL, so we don’t have to maintain and update
postings on the website.
