SOSYAL ÇEVREBİLİME GİRİŞ

AMAÇ
Bu ders, toplum-çevre ilişkilerinin çeşitli boyutlarının araştırılmasına bir giriş yapmayı
amaçlamaktadır. Öğrencilerin, ekolojik konuları toplumsal-siyasal bir eksende anlamalarını
sağlamayı, çeşitli kuram ve yaklaşımları tartışmalarını ve değişik perspektifler karşısında
kendi eleştirel düşüncelerini geliştirmelerine aracılık etmeyi hedeflemektedir. Ders boyunca,
üç temel noktaya odaklanacağız: i) toplumun doğayla etkileşimi, ii) toplum-çevre ilişkilerini
anlamaya dönük kuramsal yaklaşımlar, iii) bu ilişkilerin sonucu olan çeşitli ekolojik sorunları
gidermeyi/azaltmayı hedefleyen toplumsal hareketler, siyasal strateji arayışları ve bunların
sınırları. Her hafta dersin ilk yarısı konunun sunulmasına, ikinci kısmı ise tartışmaya
ayrılacaktır. Tartışma, aşağıdaki listede her haftanın ilk sırasında yeralan okuma parçası
çerçevesinde yapılacaktır. Tartışmayı gerçekleştirebilmek için parçanın okunarak ve en çok
bir sayfalık bir değerlendirme yazısı yazılarak derse gelinmesi gerekecektir. Değerlendirme
yazıları geçme notunun yarısını oluşturacaktır. Öğrenciler ayrıca bir dönem ödevi
hazırlamakla yükümlüdür.
