Değerli velilerimiz,
Bu ay İngilizce dersimizde öğrencilerimiz, hava durumu, hastalıklar, giysiler,
meslekler ve haftanın günleri ile ilgili sözcükleri ve cümleleri öğrendiler. Örneğin:
“Bugün hava nasıl?” – “Güneşli ve sıcak.” ; “Neyin var?” – “Başım ağrıyor.” – “Ne
giyiyorsun?” – “Sarı kazak, yeşil etek, beyaz ayakkabı.” ; “Mesleğin nedir?” –
“Öğretmenim.”; “Bugün günlerden nedir?” – “Pazartesi” ve her zaman olduğu gibi
geçen ayların konularını tekrar ettik.
Öğrencilerimiz, konular ile ilgili şarkıları dinlediler. Kelimelerin ve cümlelerin
telaffuzu üzerinde duruldu. Bu ay ayrıca üç tane şarkı öğrendik. Bunlardan biri “My
hat has three corners” şarkısıydı ki bu şarkıda kıyafet isimleri öğrenildi. “Let’s tidy up”
şarkısıyla kıyafet isimleri pekiştirildi ve “I’m cold, I’m cold” ile hastalıkları öğrendiler.

Dear Parents
We hope you all have enjoyed the holiday your children have had. They had so many stories
to tell after the semester break.
During these two short months in our English lessons, we revised our previous topics to
enhance understanding and studied new topics like clothes and jobs. We also spent a
lesson on actions to observe students' attention and their understanding of commands and
played a review competition game.
While learning clothes, we played many different games. Most of these games involved
pointing and naming. In one game, a student came to the middle of the circle the other
students had created. Each student in the circle named a clothing item that the student in
the middle was wearing. We also had a Power Point
presentation about clothes where students had to point out
the clothing items and name them. In the other lessons, we
did some dictated coloring and drawing activities as usual.
This time we focused on clothes. We played another game
which the students liked very much. The clothes flashcards
were laid out on the floor. The students lined up on opposite
sides of the cards. The teacher called out a clothing item and
the first student to pick it up earned one point. The students
enjoyed this game very much. A similar game was also played
where the students had to draw the clothes that were called
out. The class decided which one was better and the winner
earned a point. As usual, the students seemed to enjoy the lesson greatly.
When we started the topic of jobs, we went over the new vocabulary and did a lot of
repetitive tasks to help their memory. We played games where students would come up in
front of the class and mime/act out a profession and their friends tried to guess what it
might be.
The students also talked about their families and their parents’ jobs. This was especially
interesting as they combined both family vocabulary and the newly learnt job vocabulary.
They were very happy to be forming sentences.
Different from the previous months, this month we had a class where students were asked
to do different things around the classroom to evaluate their understanding of the English
language and how attentive they were to their surroundings. We also played a revision
competition game where the classes were divided into two groups and each group in turn
was asked a question. The questions were from all the previous topics we have studied and
the students enjoyed this very much.

Değerli velilerimiz,
Yeni bir döneme başlamanın sevinci içerisindeyiz. Umarım hepiniz çocuklarınızla birlikte çok
güzel bir tatil geçirmişsinizdir.
İngilizce dersimizde, geçen konuların tekrarının yanı sıra, bu ay giysileri ve meslekleri
öğrendik. Öğrencilerimiz kendilerinin ve arkadaşlarının kıyafetlerini İngilizce isimleri ile
gösterip söyleyebilir hale geldiler. Meslekler konusunda da belli başlı meslekleri öğrendiler ve
aile fertlerinin mesleklerini ifade ettiler. Daha önceden öğrendikleri aile terimleri ile yeni
öğrendikleri meslekler konusunu birleştirebilmenin mutluluğunu yaşadılar.
Her iki konuyu da yine türlü oyunlar oynayarak işledik. Bunların arasında renkli resimlerle
oynanan oyunlar, arkadaşlarının diktesine göre boyanan resimler, gruplara ayrılıp oynanan
yarışmalar ve rol yaparak tahmin yürütülen oyunlar vardı.
Bu ay ayrıca dikkat becerilerini ve İngilizce anlayışlarını ölçmek ve geliştirmek amaçlı
etkinlikler yapıldı. Öğrencilere sırayla sınıf içerisinde yapacakları komutlar verildi ve tüm
öğrencilerimiz bu etkinlikleri başarıyla tamamladılar. Tüm bunlara ek olarak bugüne kadarki
tüm konuları içeren bir yarışma da yapıldı. Yarışmada öğrenciler gruplara ayrıldılar ve
sorulara grupça cevap verdiler. Böylece öğrencilerimiz öğrenmiş oldukları konuları tekrar
ederek pekiştirdiler.

ENGLISH ACTIVITY REPORT FOR KINDERGARTEN
In the month of January/February we are still using SayPen and its accompanying books.
Each student is given a book and a pen/headphones set that says the word or picture out
loud by pointing the pen at the targeted word or picture.
The books we have been working
with are HEALTH CARE and
CLOTHING. Each book introduces
great topics and vocabulary. Each
week we cover 6 to 8 pages and do
a worksheet to practice the
vocabulary. We also do craft and
acting activities to work on the
vocabulary and main ideas in the
SayPen books.
For example, with Health Care we
learned about the roles and jobs of
doctors, nurses and patients. In
class we had groups of 3, where one was the patient and the other two were the doctor and
nurse. The doctor would say, “What is the matter?” and the patient would say “My tummy
hurts” or “I have a fever”. Then the nurse and doctor would wrap the patient with tissue
paper on the correct body part.
To help learn the body parts for health we played
games such as “Simon Says…” where Simon or the “it”
person tells the class to touch different body parts.
“Simon says touch your head” etc. If you get it wrong
then you sit down. The last one standing is the winner.
For the Clothing SayPen book we learned clothing
vocabulary and animals. They watched a power point
presentation introducing the animals and clothing.
Then we played memory games and acting games to
help remember the words and names. They also
made clothing cards for a matching game. In pairs
they were to color two of the same article of clothing
and then play a memory-match game with the class.
Recently, the children made animal masks to revise
the animal names, their colors and food.

İNGİLİZCE AKTİVİTE DERSİ RAPORU

Değerli velilerimiz,
Ocak/Şubat ayında da yine Say-Pen kitaplarımızı ve ek materyallerini kullanmaya
devam ediyoruz. Her öğrenciye bir kitap, bir Say-Pen kalemi ve bir çift kulaklık
veriliyor.
En son okuduğumuz kitaplar sağlık ve giysiler konuluydu. Bu kitaplarda ek konu
olarak vücudumuz ve hayvanları da eş zamanlı öğrendik. Her kitapta yeni kelimeler
ve konu işleniyor ve her hafta kitapların ortalama 7 sayfasını bitiriyoruz. Kitap
aktivitelerinin yanı sıra, konularla ilgili oyunlar oynayıp, proje ve etkinlikler de
yapıyoruz.
Örneğin sağlık konusunda öğrencilerle dramatizasyon çalışması yaptık. Bir öğrenci
doktor diğeri hasta olarak birbirlerine ne rahatsızlıkları olduklarını anlattılar. Sağlık
kitabının bir parçası olan vücudumuz kelimelerini pekiştirmek için “Simon Says…”
oyunu oynadık. Kıyafetler konusunu işlerken hayvanlarla ilgili de birçok kelime
öğrendik. Bu kelimeleri Power Point sunumlarıyla pekiştirdik. Boyamalar yaptık,
hafıza ve eşleştirme oyunları oynadık.
