ALLERGY CARDS How it works: When eating at restaurants with food allergies you should always ask about the ingredients and preparation methods. It’s also a good idea to bring an “allergy card” that lists your allergies and explains that all utensils, prep and cooking surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned when cooking for someone with food allergies. Present this card to the chef, manager or waiter. Traveling: Traveling with food allergies can be difficult if you don’t know the language. Always bring your allergy card with you when traveling.
