Syrian Refugees between Reality and Expectation
Aim, Content and Cause:
Syrian refugees have been forced to migrate to neighboring countries such as Turkey because of the
ongoing civil war in their country. The problems that face Syrian refugees and solutions should be
expressed by many researchers. Therefore, The First International Scientific Symposium, which was
launched by the Scientific Renaissance Association, will be held, God willing, titled: "Syrian Refugees
between Reality and Expectation" to formulate and develop a common vision of researchers from all
over the world about the suffering of Syrian refugees, situation, their rights of education, health, living
conditions, among other things. In this regard, the Preparatory Committee of the Symposium offers its
vision to decision-makers to make use of the results of this symposium to develop the reality of Syrian
refugees using accurate scientific methods, and thus develop the situation of Syrian refugees who
immigrate especially to Turkey.
Goals of the Symposium:
1. Clarifying the situation of Syrian refugees and their issues and diagnosing their suffering.
2. Improving Syrian refugees' situation to the desired level.
3. Making use of the results of the symposium by the officials concerned with the Syrian refugees' affairs.
4- Deepening relations between Syrian refugees and their surroundings from the Turks and others.
5. Making Syrian refugees keep up with other people in all various fields of life.
Themes of the Symposium:
The first theme: The suffering of Syrian refugees:





Immigration
Violation of human rights
Providing the necessary needs of living, clothing and housing
Situation of camps in summer and winter
Risks of land and maritime borders and how to overcome them.
The second theme: Syrian refugees’ health condition:

The third theme: Syrian refugees and the economy:
 The refugees are a vital economic source

Terms and standards of research:
 The research should be in one of the symposium themes, and should not have been published
before.

 The researcher should provide an abstract of no more than 200 words including the title of
research, its relationship to the themes of the symposium, its importance, its objectives, and the
outline of the research.
 An abstract is sent via e-mail.
 The research should not be more than 30 pages including the sources and references.
 Arabic researches should be presented in Microsoft Word in Traditional Arabic size 16 and 11 for
margins.
 Turkish and English researched should be presented in Microsoft Word in Times New Roman size
12, 10 for margins.
 The researches will be published in a scientific journal in a special issue.









The deadline to receive abstracts of researchers: 10/03/2016 m.
Acceptance of abstracts: 15/03/2016 m.
The deadline to receive the full researches: 20/04/2016 m.
The deadline to respond to the accepted researches: 01/05/2016 m.
Reception of participants (guests): 12/05/2016 m.
Symposium registration, opening and some sessions: 13/15/2016 m.
Sessions 14/5/2016 m.
Entertainment-cultural trip: 15/5/2016 m.
Languages of the Symposium:
 Arabic, Turkish and English.
Important information for researchers:




Participation is free; however the Scientific Renaissance Association is generally not in a position
to pay for the travel of participants in the symposium.
The Scientific Renaissance Association will provide all participants (guests) with accommodation
and food etc. during the symposium.
The Scientific Renaissance Association and Adiyaman University will present all participants
with the Participation Certificate.
The official response to the researchers (participants) will be made only by e-mail.
