The Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey is a non - govermental organization offering medical, professional, economical and social services on a national and intenational scale.

Our association serves in the status of “Public Spirited Association” to produce solutions
in public areas concerning to the insufficient rehabiliotation conditions and environmental
conditions that deters our disabled cizitens to participate in the social life.

Our program was broadcasted through SKY TURK TV for 28 episode. It is still broadcasting on Web TV. Through this program we are trying to encourage people with disabilities to use their existing rights, equality of opportunity was created and social
integration of people with disabilities was accelerated. We are collaborating with various
personalities and celebrities in order to create empathy to our cause within the public.
Our goal is to make people to put themselves in disabled peoples place while watching
and listening the celebrities.

Our magazine helps disabled people who is confused with their disabled identity in public. Our magazine was issued to show common
problems between a disabled person living in a small village and disabled person working in TBMM (grand national assembly of Turkey).

are giving direct informations about many topics from their professionals.
By broadcasting our projects and organizations on web tv we reached a great amount of
member and follower. Web Tv was very helpful for the disabled people with its enlightening programs about SCI, family, health, professional and personal training, exerts from
disabled people`s lives. Web Tv filled a big gap about internet broadcasting.

Istanbul Development Agency ( ISTKA) has established, under the Financial Support Program
and in coordination with the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey, a new project named
"Swallow Project for the Barrier Free Designers
on Dec. 1, 2012. This project has been implemented in order to lessen the disadvantages
such as lack of education, disability, environmental hard living conditions, poverty, lack
of protection and any such difficulties that the orthopedically disabled youngsters are
confronted. General information, talent, education, culture, art, self improvement trainings
are given in order to get them in touch with social environment with equal opportunities.
Under this project, where main aim was to build a healthy society, 36 youngsters have
been trained as graphic designers, and most have been employed already.

It has been established with the donations of Uğur Textile Company in
2009. With the support of the embroidery teachers of Bakırköy Public
Education Center for three months, 8 of our disabled friends have been
given computer assisted embroidery training. Trainings are continuing
in our atelier for application of embroidery on towels, cloths and on hats,
by the use of machines.

It was established in 2004 where disabled are
trained to make canvases and frames along with
the painting courses where their social rehabilitations are provided.

In our Textile Atelier, which was donated and supported by
Uğur Textile Company and Yılteks Company in 2002,
where the sewing machines were converted into easy use
for the orthopedically disabled. In 2005, with the collaboration of Istanbul Municipality and the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey 40 disabled, in 2008 with the
İşkur Project 9 disabled have attended the "Ready-made
Seller" courses for 12 months. Most of the graduates are
still teaching the new comers, also are working on manufacturing.

Advertisement and Digital Printing
Folio cutting and Advertisement Atelier: All folio cutting machines
and all other accessories have been bought and donated by the
118T Lions Club Disabled Commission in 2002. Our disabled students who took courses here, are now able to create and make
wall stickers, warning signs, vehicle wearing layers, advertisement
signs, promotional canvas materials, etc.
Digital Printing Atelier
In 2010 Uğur Textile Company
donated the Digital Printing Machine and all other necessary equipment. Now disabled are able to design (photographs, paintings, etc.) and print on cloth.

This atelier was established by the Ulus
Rotary Club "2420 Section and all computers and necessary equipment were donated by them. In four terms period, 70
graphic designers were educated. (The
classroom for Graphic Design lessons, is
used in rotation with the Computerized Accounting lessons).

In our Jewelery Atelier, both designing and manufacturing are made by
the disabled people. This atelier
helps them to be rehabilitated, be a
part of the social life and to be productive individuals.
Designs created here are made
with natural materials and these are
sold in charity bazaars and
fairs.Such sales generate an income to our association.

The Theater Atelier of the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey has succeeded to create a social consciousness by
the plays that exposes the difficulties of the
disabled in black humour.
Atelier players have performed plays such
as; Azizname, Foot Print, You Barrier
Free?and Superstition both in theaters in
Istanbul and on tour in other cities.

All plays shows us the difficulties of life
seen from the disabled's point of view. The
themes are mostly tragicomical, exposing
the lack of love, compassion, empathy and
sympathy of human
beings of our
modern world.

April 23 National Independences and Children`s
Day which was presented to all children around
the world by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk are celebrated with great enthusiasm in our country.
Since 2006 every year we organize International
Smiling Child Festival which is held with the purpose of gathering the disabled and not disabled
children together. Each year participated groups
present their shows with great joy. Participant
children from Turkey and other countries make
cultural exchange by displaying their
artistic and cultural activities and performances during a trip to show the
unique beauty of Istanbul. By this international festival, we announce the
message of `removal of the obstacles
for the equal rights in life` in international platform.

Aim of this project is to support and provide with spinal cord paralytics, especially people
who have recently spinal cord paralytics to have a personal freedom and independence
to take an active part in the society. The Project has been realized between 15 August
2013 -14 August 2014 with the partnership of abroad FLM - Fundacion del LesionadoMedular (Spain Spinal Cord Paralytics Foundation), Aspaym Madrid (Spain) and
ÖZEV - Disability Training and Solidarity Foundation (Ankara).
To achieve this aim the dimensionality of problems encountered in and is one of the most
important points to consider the all aspects. Civil Society Organisations and people with
spinal cord paralytics need increasing their capacities also necessary to support managerial and technicaly for establishing a dialogue with the political institutions / local authorities, seeking their rights legally and participate effectively in process of decision
making. Under this project, most important thing is to gain best "Instructors" to Turkish
civil society organizations.
Under this context, people who have spinal cord paralytics for a long time ( by the position
of "Instructor") show their experiences, opinions, feelings, what they live, how they share
the problems faced and overcome these problems and to live independently of their situation do not interfere with them to people who have recently spinal cord paralytics (student) . They teach them that they are not alone and there are so many different ways to
overcome the problems.

Missing link project has been realized between 1 August 2012 – 1 August 2014 with the
partnership of Turkey, Sweden, United Kingdom and Belgium. The Project was funded
under the framework of European Union Life Long Learning – Grundtvig Partnership Programme. This purposes that families with disabled children from different countries, to
educate their children in the family, to take responsibility in organizations, to be informed
of issues such as offered to provide social services to take part in the management, to
be motivated, trained and supported.

area by discovering the best examples, creating a web page, and encouraging employment of the disabled people. It has
been implemented in order to be a guideline against the institutions that employ disabled people on their companies.

Biomechanics aims to promote artistic
recreation for artists with disability
across to Europe who are performing
art projects. The Project was funded
under the framework of European
Union – Culture Programme.
It is aimed to raise awareness with performances are held in several cities in
Europe between 1 June 2012 - 31 August 2013. It is aimed to develop the
skills of artists and artistic works to ensure more active participation in the coorganizers and partners responsible for
establishing a network of strong cooperation between the discovery of a
physically disabled artists, it is an initiative at promoting and receive more
training. At the begining, as a whole engine system of the human body, the biological system is inspired by the
mecanical rules.

As we realized in 2005 with EU - İŞKUR Project, is
aimed to find out new business environment and targeted adaptation of business career who never participated in working life for people with orthopedic
disabilities. Computerized Accounting Training and Employment Project under the name of TOFD for Orthopedic disabled, with the training
in computer laboratory, 22 students with orthopedic disabled are trained and have
been employed as a member of Computerized Accounting.

A midwheel based battery powered chair represents freedom for those of whom are dependent on others for mobility due to their disabilities. Since 2005, TOFD has been organizing Battery Powered Chair campagin which allows for collaboration and coordination
of the society as a whole; thus, enhances social responsibility attempts.
In order to enrol in and support the campaign, an empty sms can be sent to 3430 for a
charge of 5 TL per message; as well as, it can always be funded through unlimited
amount of battery powered chairs. Through the funds that have been raised among our
supporters, it has been made possible to obtain thousands of battery powered chairs for
those of whom are in need and provide them with the ability to move freely.

You can help out people with disabilities as easy as
by not littering and throwing away the lids on top of
any plastic bottles that you use for consumption. For
instance, it could be lid of the water bottle, demijohn,
plastic can of olive oil and soft drinks. But how? The
revenue generated by the recycling process of these
plastic lids, basically compensate for both the battery charged wheelchairs as well as manual wheelchairs that are seeked and needed by those people
with disabilities. The financial accounting process is
totally transparent in terms of auditing and controlling and the main aim is to liberate those people
woth disabilities and have them become not dependent on others for mobility. You can easily drop
off those plastic lids that you have collected to the
points that we promote on our website. If you reside
in Istanbul, you may request a pick-up service from
your address by contacting our office. For Turkey-wide deliveries you may prefer to mail

The concept of the shallow water, generally describes to the depth
of water does not exceed 2 meters. Shallow waters, the waters of
unknown dept, bottom water does not appear blurry, rundown and

on there. As a Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey we are
working for many years on this subject for the purpose of public
awareness. we contribute to the formation of social consciousness.on social media with our working in the visual and auditory

Within Barrier Free designers – Swallow project, 36 young orthopedic disabled people’s theory and practice education as well as personal development trainings provided by the support
of their participation in the economic life. Within 12-month-long
project of 36 orthopedic disabled between the ages of 18-24
living in the European side of Istanbul, taking professional training in the field of graphic design and completed their training
and personal development knowledge, skills, creativity and entrepreneurship had the opportunity to develop their capacities.
Also %50 of trainees who graduated from the program have
been employed as a graphic artist at the end of program. The
rest of %50 finished the program as a fully equipped and settle
in their attempts to work with also free to work from their homes.

The primary objective of our association is to prevent
deaths, and the formation of the spinal cord paralysis
on accidents. Researches show us in our country
every year on various accidents is about 5000 cases
of spinal cord trauma, average in 2500 person observed that paralyzed spinal condition. The
main factor that occurrence strokes on accidents. After the accident, the wrong first aid, improper handling and not using the auxiliary materials to be used. From the outside looking
(like other brokens) broken spine not understood. For this reason our association produces
anti- collar order to minimize the spinal cord palsies damage after an accident. On production
of collars our member who became paralyzed spinal paralysis because of accident are working and for this reason at the same time they have professional and social rehabilitation.

They are serving with the cooperation of; Social Services and Child Protection Institution,
Bakırköy Municipality, Lions 118 T Management Environment and The Spinal Cord
ParaIytics Association and there are 42 need of care enabled stays in its structure. It is
first residential care center in Turkey made with the Cooperation of Government and Civil
Society Organizations.

This center is established with the cooperation of Social Services and Child Protection
Institution, The Spinal Cord ParaIytics Association and Bakırköy District as well as career
traning, psychologist – sociologist and physical therapists rehabilitation services are also

It was established at Beylikduzu - Gurpınar in 2009, with the support of Ugur Textile Machinery Industry and Trade Inc.and of other
sponsors for to serve; heavy need of care, with nobody to look
after, whose in economic and social deprivation Spinal Cord
ParaIytic people. Center with a capacity of 24 beds has been implemented with the approval of Governor's Authority in 28.01.2009
with approval number 2754. For residences on our care center
there is no charge for services. Expenses are covered with in social solidarity of donations and supports provided by the Ministry
of Family and Social Policies. Services provided at the center is
provided by specialist doctors, psychologist, physiotherapist,
nurses and maintenance personnel are certified by the Ministry of
Education.

Our Sport Activities
An important pillar for medical and social rehabilitation of
people with SCI is sporting events. Sports make disabled
person rehabilitation in medical terms because they do
physical exertion. But more importantly, sport is a real social rehabilitation for disabled person for restoration of a
sense of self-confidence, to be in daily life, and provide a
sense of achievement. Because of these facts OFSK was
established in 2003. OFSK organization has made many achievements till today from
the establishment. OFSK incorporates physically disabled young athletes who are struggling at the Paralympic national teams. OFSK
operates spor branches like Archery, Table
Tennis, Tennis, Swimming, scuba diving.
OFSK provides, expert trainers and guarantee of future with conditioner young people
with qualified all the facilities you need to
have a quality sports club and will continue
our success to the future with the same determination.
We have our underwater
diving event at t the worldfamous athlete Namik Ekin’s
administration.
Our tennis team announced
their names on tournaments
many times with the degrees
earned. As we support infrastructure on Paralympic athletes are source of pride with
their success.
