CENK ERDOĞAN
Cenk Erdogan studied jazz composition at conservatory with the acclaimed jazz musicians and he is
graduated ranking first. Besides jazz, he also worked on Turkish classical music and become a specialist
on fretless guitar playing. Influenced by the traditional Turkish instruments baglama and tanbur , his
technique is diverted from other fretless guitar playing techniques, by which his music blends jazz
harmonization and traditional melodies.
His works on fretless guitar have also been recognized by international experts, and in 2004, he is invited
to make workshops and give lectures on fretless guitar playing at pretigious Berklee College of Music. The
same year he also made workshops at Queens College of Music.
Cenk Erdoğan’s composistions also draw attention of filmmakers and directotrs and he has scored several
films, TV series and documentaries. With the music score of the famous Turkish film Alone - Issız Adam
he receved the “best music score” award in 2009.
As a guitarist, composer or arranger he is also involved in other musicians works such as Cengiz Onural’s
Bir Nefes Hayat, Gevende’s Ev, Serkan Çağrı’s Âlâ, and Mircan Kaya’s solo album.
His debut album is released in December 2008 by Baykus Music.
