Course Description
The institution of the Republic and a study of historical conditions and events following Atatürk's reforms. Covers the period from the
beginning of the Turkish Republic to the 1980s.
Course Objectives
Students will be taught the important turning points in the history of Turkish Republic.
Students will be taught a long period of history starting from the early Republican times up until today.
Students will be taught, the major transformations in Turkish political and social life with references to the international context.
Learning Outcomes
On the completion of this courser the students will be able to:
* analyze historical facts in Turkish Republican history.
* bring about arguments by using historical data about Turkish history.
*to give a meaning and be able to discuss political, social, economic and international issues that Turkey faces or faced.
