Refet Polat, “Bunun yanı sıra birçok arama motorunda sınırsız bilgi var. Ancak nasıl arama yaptığınız çok önemli. Bu sistemler geliştikçe, kullanıcıların bireysel öğrenme sürecinde dokümanlar ve kavramlar arasında kaybolduğunu görüyoruz. Kullanıcıların, hangi kavramı, hangi doküman
içinde ve hangi sırada öğrenmeleri gerektiği en
önemli sorun olarak karşımıza çıkıyor.
Örneğin, bir konu hakkında arama yaparken,
anahtar kelimeleri doğru seçemeyebiliriz. Konuyla
ilgili anlamca yakın olduğunu düşündüğümüz kelimeleri deneriz ve sonuca ulaşmayı bekleriz. Arama motorları bu durumu düşünerek daha doğru
sonuca ulaşmamız için aradığımız kelimeyle anlamca yakın kelimeleri tespit etmeyi ve ona en yakın kelimeleri bulmayı dener.” dedi.

Menderes Üniversitesi bünyesinde çalışan araştırmacıların yer aldığı ve yürütücülüğünü Refet Polat’ın üstlendiği projede Yrd. Doç. Dr. Korhan Günel, Yrd. Doç. Dr. Mehmet Kurt, Yrd. Doç. Dr. Yasin
Özarslan araştırmacı olarak yer alacak. Ayrıca, Dr.
Mehmet Ümit Gürsoy doktora sonrası araştırmacısı, Enver Çilengiroğlu yüksek lisans, Saadet Eskiizmirliler ise doktora bursiyeri olarak proje kapsamında desteklenecek.

Prof. Dr. Refet Polat explains how AI will enter the
field of education through a project titled “Artificial Intelligence in Education Technologies,” which
qualified to gain support within the scope of TUBITAK 3501 Career Development Program: “Through
the test technique used as an assessment and
evaluation tool in education, students are evaluated according to the questions they answer correctly or incorrectly. Through this project we will
establish which concepts have been learned and
which ones have not for particular subjects. We
will determine this based on students’ answers.
Moreover, when a student chooses a wrong answer, we will be able to identify the specific areas in which that student has a deficiency based on
the type of wrong answer they have chosen. This
will enable us to direct the student to the right educational content.”

Refet Polat reminds us that there are currently many e-libraries, such as the National Education’s Educational Information Network, where
students can access educational content. He says,

kapsamında destek almaya hak kazanan “eğitim
teknolojilerinde yapay zeka” kullanacakları projeyi anlatan Yaşar Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi Matematik Bölümü Öğretim Üyesi Yrd. Doç.
Dr. Refet Polat, “Eğitim sürecinde bir ölçme ve değerlendirme aracı olarak kullanılan test tekniğinde öğrencilerin verdiği doğru ve yanlış cevaplara
göre değerlendiriliyor. Geliştireceğimiz projeyle,
öğrencilerin sorulara verdikleri yanıtlara göre belli bir konuda hangi kavramları tam olarak öğrenip
öğrenemedikleri belirlenebilecek. Örneğin; bir soru için öğrenci yanlış olan hangi şıkkı işaretlediğine göre öğrenmede ne gibi konularda eksiği olduğunu belirleyip öğrenciyi anında doğru eğitim içeriklerine yönlendirebileceğiz” diye konuştu.

Researchers from Yaşar University, Izmir University and Adnan Menderes
University will take part in this pro-
ject. Refet Polat will oversee its execution and Assistant Prof. Dr. Korhan Günel, Assistant Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kurt, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Yasin Ozarslan will be involved as the
researchers. In addition, Dr. Mehmet
Umit Gürsoy as a postgraduate researcher, Enver Çilengiroğlu as a masters degree scholar, and Saadet Eskiizmirliler as a Phd. scholar will be
supported through the scope of this
project.
