II. Course Information
CATALOG DESCRIPTION:
Physical quantities, international standards, basics of electrical measurement, analog measuring
devices, measuring devices and measuring errors, Evaluation of measurement results, DC and AC
bridge circuits and principles of oscilloscope.
COURSE PRECONDITIONS:
Undergraduate students
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The theory and application of the principles of measurement techniques. The course consists of
physical sizes, international standards, basics of the electrical measurement, analogue
measurement equipments, measurement techniques and measurement errors, evaluation of the
measurement results, dc and ac bridge circuits, principles of oscilloscopes.
COURSE STRUCTURE:
Classroom lectures: The theoretical fundamentals for two hours a week.
Laboratory: one hour a week.

Fundamentals of electrical measurement.

Basic measurement techniques.
(2 weeks) Principles of analogue measurement equipments.

Evaluation of the measurement results and measurement errors.

MİDTERM EXAM 1– theoretical
(1 week)
MİDTERM EXAM 2– laboratory
(2 weeks) DC bridges and applications, Wheatstone bridges, Kelvin bridges.
(2 weeks) AC bridges and basic applications.
(1 weeks) Fundamentals of Oscilloscopes.
