3rd Annual Dewey Classic
Miniature Golf Tournament
Sunday, March 6 from 10-4
Mark your calendars for March
6 as we once again transform
the library into an 18 hole
miniature golf course.
Organized by the Friends of the
Jonathan Bourne Public Library,
the tournament is used as a
fundraiser for the popular Concerts On the
Lawn series held in the summer. Those
concerts then become a fundraiser for the
Bourne Food Pantry through their
admission fee.
The cost to play miniature golf is $5
per person a game. The Friends will be
hosting their 19th Hole Café in the large
Vol. 2 No. 1
meeting room selling breakfast and lunch
items. There will also be a raffle, face
painting and bake sale too.
Don’t miss the fun and be sure to
bring your family, challenge your friends,
and most of all come support this great
program.

Garden Help Needed
Pay Your Bills/ Donate to the
Library Online
With the snow FINALLY departing and the
first buds quietly poking through the
ground, thoughts can begin to turn to warm
weather and outside activities. The Library
Trustees are looking for some volunteer
help with the flower gardens on the
property. In May, a volunteer or two are
needed to help prune and clean up the
gardens and get them ready for the
summer season. During the summer, help
is needed to assist dead heading and
weeding the gardens in front of the library
as well as the memorial garden on the side.
There is also a small garden that is waiting
for a creative person to help redo and bring
back to life.
Anyone wishing to help us out should
contact Penny Myers at 508-563-6830 or email her at [email protected]
Library staff members are pleased to
announce that customers are now able to
pay their overdue fines and fees as well as
donate to the library online. Access to the
system is from our web page
(www.bournelibrary.org). Users are able to
pay using credit card (Master Card or
Discover) or by Electronic Check. It is free
to pay by check but there are fees for using
credit cards. Check the payment website for
full details.

Christopher Daley – The Lincoln
Assassination
Join us on Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. as
local historian Christopher Daley returns to
the JBPL to talk about the assassination of
President Abraham Lincoln. Audience
members will take part in a lively discussion
and view photos and video of Civil War and
assassination sites. Admission is free and
light refreshments will be served. Program
sponsored by the Friends of the Jonathan
Bourne Public Library.
Meet Terry L. Johnson, our Children’s
Librarian, who probably has the most fun of
any staff member in the Library. The greeneyed, cheerful, former preschool teacher
started her work with the Library in 2000 as
a member of the Upper Cape Family
Network (now known as the Coalition for
Children), a state funded grant program
that delivers services to children birth to
preschool. She served as a substitute, and
then became the children’s library assistant
in 2004, moving into the Children’s
Librarian position in 2007 when the former
children’s librarian retired. Terry loves the
color green, the book, Woolbur (Leslie
Helakoski), and the authors, Marian Keyes
and J.D. Robb. Like Woolbur, she is spunky,
creative and unique! Married, with two
daughters and two stepsons, Terry loves the
