Recently, importation of hay and straw into Republic of Turkey has been permitted. Hay and straw should
be subjected to both plant and veterinary control at the entry point of Republic of Turkey. And, according
to our National Legislation, veterinary health certificate should be accompanying the hay and
straw consignments, as well as plant health certificate should be accompanying too.
The health requirements are declared in the veterinary health certificate. While exporting the hay and
straw, it should be ensured that all conditions about foot-and-mouth disease have been satisfied as
mentioned in it. Model of the veterinary health certificate is enclosed, please find it.
In the case of application of exportation of hay and straw from your country, please provide that the
exporter and the officers (veterinarians and inspectors) who are responsible of the exportation
be aware of the importation conditions of hay and straw of Republic of Turkey.
