Türk ve Uluslararası Atletizm camiası tarafından da yakından bilindiği gibi,
Türkiye’nin internetteki ilk Atletizm-Maraton sitesi olan MaratonTürk 20 Mart
2000’de yayın hayatına başlamıştır. Bugün itibariyle yayınına 15 yıldır Türkçe ve
İngilizce devam etmekte olup, dünyanın 5 kıtasından ve 131 ülkeden ziyaretçisi
bulunmaktadır. Dünya Maraton Birliği (AIMS) tarafından da kabul gören ve
izlenen MaratonTürk www.aimsworldrunning.org/links.htm sitesinden dünyaya
tanıtılmaktadır. İnternetten takip edemeyenleri de düşünerek şu anda elinizde
bulunan bu bülteni yayınlamayı planladık. Aralıklarla yayınlanacak olan
MaratonTürk bülteninin ilginizi çekeceği ve Türk sporuna az da olsa bir katkı sağlayacağı inancıyla.
INTRODUCTIONS
Turkiye’s first Athletics and Marathon Website, MaratonTurk, began publishing online on 20th March
2000 and has been closely followed by members of the Turkish and international athletics community.
After 15 years it continues to report on athletics issues in both Turkish and English. The MaratonTurk
webpage has been viewed from each of the World's five continents and from no less than131 countries.
The work of MaratonTurk has been recognized by the Association of International Marathons (AIMS)
and is referenced from their website through the link www.aimsworldrunning.org/links.htm
As a service to those among you who are unable to access the Internet, the newsletter that you are now
reading will be updated at regular intervals. We believe that you will find it interesting and informative,
and that it will be a small but nevertheless important contribution to Turkish sport.

I am truly happy to host the European Champion Clubs Cup Juniors Group A,
and to welcome the participant clubs in our city as the Amateur Branches
Coordinator of Fenerbahçe Sports Club.
I believe that our guests will have the opportunity to live the historical
atmosphere of Istanbul, one of the most beautiful cities of the world, and leave
Istanbul with good memories.
We have committed ourselves to make our guests feel at home, and I would
like to extend a warm welcome to all.
Finally, I would like to thank the European Athletics for awarding this event to
us, to Mr. Fatih Çintimar, President of the Turkish Athletic Federation for his support, and wish

YARIŞMA ALANI / VENUE
İSTANBUL ATATÜRK OLİMPİYAT STADI
The track, which had been serving as the warm-up area of the
Atatürk Olympic Stadium, is being re-designed as a
competition venue completely in accordance with the
requirements of athletics facilities. The constructional works
began in April 2015 and expected to be completed by the end
of August 2015. The project includes stands with one
thousand seats, technical and administrative rooms as well as
a weight training centre.
The stadium hosted the European Cup in Athletics, later
named European Athletics Team Championships with the
new format introduced, in the years 2003, 2004, 2005 and
2008. The new adjacent stadium will welcome the European
Champion Clubs Cup Juniors Group A on 19 September
2015 as the inauguration of the stadium.
European Athletics officials paid a visit to the venue on 4 August 2015. They were welcomed by the
LOC representatives including LOC President Fikret Çetinkaya and Vice President Salih Münir Yaraş,
also a Council Member of both Turkish Athletic Federation and European Athletics.
