Ingenico Türkiye olarak 2011’e çok önemli gelişmeler
ve yeniliklerle başladık. Gerek bankaların gerekse dikey pazarda faaliyet gösteren müşterilerimizin gelişen

bir dönem başlatacak. Taşınabilirlik deyince aklınıza
gelen 3 konuda da üstün bir cihaz ürettik. Taşınabilirlik; 285 gr ağırlık ile en hafif ve taşınması rahat cihaz.
Pil süresi: Özel tasarım pili ile sahada tek şarj ile 600
işlem, 6 güne kadar standby süresi. Hız: Saniyede 30
satır baskı hızı ile rakiplerine göre en hızlı termal printer. Evet, gömlek cebine sığacak kadar küçük ama
buna karşılık günde 600 işlem yapabilen yüksek belleğe sahip cihazlarımız sahanın vazgeçilmezi olacak. Bu
yeni teknolojiyi dünya ile aynı anda Türkiye pazarına

Sabancı’nın saha satış ve stok otomasyon sistemi
iPA280 el terminalleri üzerinden yürütülecek. Titiz
bir geliştirme sürecinin ardından kısa süre önce farklı
şehirlerde yapılan pilot çalışmalarını tamamladığımız
projemiz, hem hızlı tüketim hem de ödeme sistemleri
sektörlerinde dünyada örnek gösterilecek nitelikte…
Bu proje ile dünyada ilk kez POS cihazı PDA ile birleşmiş oldu. Projenin detaylarını ise Philip Morris Sabancı

As Ingenico Turkey we entered into 2011 with very
important developments and innovations. We are
keeping on directing the sector with our innovative
products and applications while keeping our responsibility to meet the developing requirements of banks
and our customers operating in vertical market as fast
as possible. The latest development in that area was
our new mobile payment terminals. Our new generation mobile terminals we introduced at the special
launch event held at Suada on January 21 will start a
revolutionary era in field payments. We have created
a device that is superior in the 3 subjects when portability comes to mind. Portability; it is the lightest and
most portable device with 285gr of weight. Battery
life: With the specially designed battery, 600 transactions on a single charge, 6 days of standby time.
Speed: With 30 lines per second, the fastest thermal
printer compared to the competition. Yes, it is small
to fit inside a shirt pocket but it will be the indispensable of the field with its high capacity memory and
its ability to run 600 transactions a day. We are glad
to introduce this technology to Turkish market at the
same time with the rest of the world.
At the launch event, besides introducing our new
products, we had the opportunity to share a project
that makes us very proud. The project, which is a first
in the world, developed by Ingenico that combines
payment and stock follow-up on a single device, the
iPA280 (PAYPDA) solution, put into practice by Ingenico Turkey team. For the project realized for Philip
Morris Sabanci with the help of Garanti Bank, Philip
Morris Sabanci’s field sales and stock automation
system will be carried out on iPA280 hand terminals.
After a careful development process, the project
which we completed its pilot operations in different
cities a short time ago, is at an example status for
the fast moving consumer goods sector and the payment systems sector in the world… With this project
POS device and PDA is combined for the first time
in the world. Philip Morris Sabanci Finance, Information Services and Administrative Affairs Director Taner

Our success at Shared POS is increasing exponentially. Apart from banks, many large companies are

Philip Morris SA, saha satış operasyonlarında yeni bir döneme başlıyor. Saha satışlarından oluşan muhasebesel iş yükünü azaltarak
operasyonel çeviklik sağlamak amacıyla Ingenico’nun iPA280 çözümünü tercih eden Philip Morris SA, operasyonel işlemleri tek
cihaz üzerinden yöneterek daha önce manuel olarak gerçekleşen
işlemleri otomatikleştirecek.
Philip Morris SA is starting a new era in their field sales operations.
Philip Morris SA, who chose Ingenico’s iPA280 to reduce the accountancy work load that arises from field sales to gain operational agility, will automate operational work which used to be done
manually, with a single device.
Titiz bir proje geliştirme süreci ve pilot uygulamaların ardından Ocak
ayının başında Adana’da start alan proje, Philip Morris SA’nın kağıtsız muhasebe uygulamaları için de altyapı oluşturuyor.
The project which started in Adana in the beginning of January
after a careful project development process and pilot applications
constitutes the infrastructure of paperless accounting applications
of Philip Morris SA.

Saha operasyonlarında yeni bir uygulamaya geçmeye
neden ihtiyaç duydunuz?
Why did you need to pass to a new application in field
operations?
2008 finansal krizinden sonra tüm dünyada bazı dinamikler değişti.
Bu süreçte, tüm dünya pazarlarında piyasalar daha kırılgan hale
geldi. Değişen dinamikler iş risklerini arttırdı dolayısıyla işletmelerin
daha etkin bir “risk yönetimi” uygulaması kaçınılmaz hale geldi. İş
kesimlerini yakından ilgilendiren konularda mevzuat ve düzenlemeler gelişti ve karmaşıklaştı. Bunların yanı sıra piyasalarda oluşan nakit sıkıntısı, azalan küresel taleple birleşince rekabet arttı. Özetle bir
taraftan artan kontrol ihtiyaçları ve karmaşıklaşan mevzuat iş yapış
süreçlerini yavaşlatırken, diğer taraftan yeni oluşan ortamda hızlı
ve çevik olmak, sürdürülebilir büyümenin ön koşulu haline geldi.
Bugün bir işletmenin rekabetçi kalabilmesi, büyümesini sürdürebilmesi ve koruyabilmesi için farklı olması gerekiyor. Güçleşen koşullar içerisinde bunun yolunun da hızlılık ve çevikliğin tüm iş yapış
süreçlerine yansıtılmasından geçtiğine inanıyoruz. Philip Morris SA
olarak böyle bir ortamda hem organizasyonel çevikliği sağlamak
hem de maliyet yapımızı optimize edebilmek için inovasyon ve teknoloji kullanımına yöneldik. Aslında inovasyon denildiği zaman akla
öncelikle ürün gelir. Biz bununla sınırlı kalmayıp tüm süreçlerimizde inovatif bir bakış açısıyla teknolojiyi kullanmaya karar verdik ve
manuel olarak gerçekleşen birtakım iş yapış süreçleri teknolojinin
de yardımıyla otomatikleştirmek için çözümler aramaya başladık ve
böylece Ingenico’nun iPA280 çözümü ile tanıştık.

Peki, sahada nasıl bir uygulamanız vardı?
Dağıtım teşkilatımıza baktığımız zaman 350 satış elemanımızla
Türkiye’deki bakkalları ziyaret ederek satışımızı gerçekleştiriyoruz.
Bir satış elemanı, günde 45-55 noktayı bizzat dolaşarak satış noktasının talebi doğrultusunda ürünü satıp faturasını kesiyor, ürünleri
bırakıyor ve bir sonraki ziyaretine gidiyor. Çok basit görünüyor ancak detayına inip baktığımızda o satış işleminin arkasında çok fazla
idari ve bürokratik süreç var. Diğer taraftan farklı tahsilat yöntemleri
kullanıyoruz. Nakit satışın yanı sıra değişik bankacılık araçları ile de
tahsilat yapıyoruz ve bu nedenle satış elamanlarımız POS terminali
de kullanıyor. Satış işlemi için ise el bilgisayarları kullanılıyor. Bu 2
cihaz birbirleriyle konuşmadığı için tahsilat bilgilerinin satış sistemlerimize yani el bilgisayarına manüel olarak girilmesi gibi bir ihtiyaç
doğuyordu. Bunun da ötesinde, işin doğası gereği birden fazla
bankayla çalıştığımız için satış elemanımız birden fazla bankanın
POS cihazını beraberinde taşımak zorunda kalıyordu. Daha sonra satış elemanı bölgeye döndüğünde girilen bilgilerin doğruluğunu
sağlamak amacıyla muhasebe departmanı ile birlikte mutabakat
After the 2008 financial crisis some dynamics have changed all
around the world. In this period the world markets has become
more fragile . Changing dynamics has increased the business
risks that’s why it became inevitable to apply more effective “risk
management“for the enterprises. The legislation and regulations
has improved and became more complex on the topics related
to the business sector. In addition to all these, competition has
increased when the short of cash in the market, combined with the
decreasing global demand . As a summary, the increasing controlling requirements and more complex legislations were slowing
down the business processes , on the other side being fast and
active became prerequisites of continuous growth
Today, a business has to be different to keep in the competition, to
sustain its growth and to protect it. Under these difficult conditions
we believe that the way to succeed is to reflect the speed and agility to all of the business processes
As Philip Morris SA we headed towards the use of innovations
and technology to provide organizational agility and to optimize our
expenditure structure. Basically when you think of innovation the
product comes to mind first. We were not limited by it; in an innovative point of view we decided to use technology in all of our
processes and sought to find solutions to automate some business processes that are done manually with the help of technology
and found Ingenico’s iPA280 solution.

So, what was your application in the field?
When we look at our distribution organization, we are visiting the
groceries in Turkey with 350 sales employees and making hot
sales. A sales person goes to 45 to 55 locations a day, sells according to the demand of the sales point and prints out the invoice,
drops off the products and goes to his next location. It looks simple
but when we look at its details there are many administrative and
bureaucratic processes behind it. On the other hand we are using different collection methods. Besides the cash sales, we make
collections through different banking applications and that’s why
our sales persons are using POS terminals. For the sales transaction handheld computers are being used. Because those two
devices are not connected to each other collection information has
to be put in the sales systems, the handheld computer, manually.
Beyond this , as a nature of the business our sales person were

yapıyordu. Hızın çok önemli olduğu bir ortamda önemli vakit kayıpları yaşanıyordu. Bu noktada eğer el bilgisayarı ile POS terminalinin
birbiri ile konuşabildiği, entegre bir çözüm geliştirebilirsek hem idari
ve bürokratik süreçleri azaltabileceğimizi, hem de satış sonrası yapılan mutabakatlardan oluşan iş yükünü bir miktar azaltıp zaman
tasarrufunda bulunabileceğimizi öngördük.

Ingenico ile işbirliği yapmaya nasıl karar verdiniz?
iPA280’i tercih etmenizde neler etkili oldu?
Philip Morris Sabancı, Türkiye pazarında lider bir firma ve bizim iş
ihtiyaçlarımızı karşılayabilecek firmaların da benzer şekilde kendi faaliyet alanlarında güçlü, lider, bilinen firmalar olmasını tercih ediyoruz. Bu açıdan Ingenico gerçekten saygın bir firma. Bunun yanında
bankacılık uygulamalarındaki başarıları da çok önemli bir referans
oldu. Dolayısıyla Ingenico, birlikte çalışabileceğimiz, yakalamayı hedeflediğimiz çevikliğe ayak uydurabilecek bir iş ortağı olarak karşımıza çıktı. Gerçekten ihtiyacımızı karşılayacak bir çözüm ortaya
koydu.

carrying more than one POS terminal as we are working with more
than one bank. When the sales person goes back to the office, he
would do balancing with the accountancy department to check the
information that he has entered to the system before.. It was a loss
of important time considering the speed is very important. At that
point if we could develop a solution which connects the handheld
computer to the POS terminal, we found out that we could gain
time by decreasing the administrative and bureaucratic processes
and by removing work load of after sales balancing.
How did you decide to cooperate with Ingenico? What
influenced you to choose iPA280?
Philip Morris Sabanci is a leading company in Turkish market and
we prefer companies that are powerful, leader and well-known in
their own operation fields to supply our business needs. In this
respect Ingenico is really a recognized company. Besides the
achievements in the banking applications were an important reference for us. Therefore Ingenico appeared before us as a business
partner that we would work together and that would keep up with
us on the way to our target. It really presented a solution that would
supply our needs.

This project is a world first. How did the project process develop?
At the first meeting with Ingenico, we learned that this solution was
not applied in the fast moving consumer goods sector before and
this would be a world first. Actually developing a new product that
wasn’t used before and putting it on the field is not our real job.
Because our principle is to get a device that supplies our need and
to use it in the shortest time possible. This type of projects brings
some risks with it. However if we didn’t take this risk and didn’t try
this solution we wouldn’t reach the target developments we could
gain in our business processes . Therefore the two companies
shouldered the responsibility and an exciting project process had
started. From time to time we had difficulties because it was the
first application of the device. Some properties of the device had to
be developed. However Ingenico’s expertise , our project team’s
competence and the common excitement for the project made us
overcome the every difficulty. During the project, experts from Ingenico’s headquarters worked actively in a project team with Philip
Morris SA and Ingenico Turkey team. As a result we have created
a solution for fast moving goods sector that would be an example
to the whole world.
When did the field applications start?
After performing a pilot application for a period of time, we started
the real application in Adana in the beginning of January.

So, what are the feedbacks from the field sales staff?
We are receiving really positive feedbacks. First, they are very glad
that the work load has lightened. Our sales staff using iPA280 be-

Ingenico ile yaptığımız ilk görüşmede bu çözümün daha önce hızlı tüketim sektöründe hiç uygulanmadığını hatta dünyada da ilk
olacağını öğrendik. Aslında denenmemiş yeni bir ürünü geliştirip
sahaya indirmek bizim asli işimiz değil. Çünkü prensibimiz, ihtiyacımızı karşılayan bir cihazı temin edip en kısa sürede kullanmaya
başlamak… Böyle bir proje beraberinde bir takım riskleri de getiriyor. Ancak bu riski almazsak, bu çözümü denemezsek iş süreçlerimizde hedeflediğimiz iyileştirmelere ulaşamayacaktık. Dolayısıyla
elimizi, taşın altına her iki şirket birlikte koyduk ve heyecan verici bir
proje süreci başladı. Zaman zaman cihazın ilk uygulaması olmasından dolayı zorluklar yaşadık. Ürünün bazı özelliklerinin geliştirilmesi
gerekti. Ancak Ingenico’nun uzmanlığı, kendi proje ekibimizin yetkinlikleri ve projeden duyulan ortak heyecan her türlü zorluğu aşmamızı sağladı. Proje sürecinde Ingenico’nun merkezinden gelen
uzmanlar da bir proje ekibi içerisinde Philip Morris SA ve Ingenico
Türkiye ekibiyle birlikte aktif olarak çalıştı. Sonuç olarak hızlı tüketim
sektöründe tüm dünyada örnek olacak bir çözümü ortaya çıkardık.
Saha uygulamaları ne zaman başladı?
Belirli bir süre pilot uygulama gerçekleştirdikten sonra Ocak ayının
başında Adana’da gerçek uygulamaya geçtik.
Peki, saha satış çalışanlarından nasıl geri bildirimler geliyor?
Son derece olumlu dönüşler alıyoruz. Öncelikle iş yükünün azalmasından dolayı son derece memnunlar. iPA280 kullanan satış
elemanlarımız muhasebede daha az zaman harcar hale geldi. Zaman içerisinde bu çözümü tüm saha operasyonlarımıza yaymayı
hedefliyoruz.

Philip Morris SA olarak kağıtsız muhasebe dönemine hazırlanıyoruz. iPA280, bu hedefe ulaşmamızı sağlayacak altyapıyı sağlıyor.
Bir takım muhasebesel süreçlerimiz önemli ölçüde kolaylaştı. Bu
durum direkt satış elemanımızın hayatına yansıdı. Yansımaya da
devam edecek. Dolayısıyla en önemli kazanımımız bu altyapıyı
sağlamak oldu. Diğer taraftan şu anda doğrudan makinenin makineyle konuştuğu bir sistem üzerinden ilerliyoruz. Böylece kontrol
alt yapımızı da arttırmış olduk. Dolayısıyla iş yapış süreçlerimizde
çeviklik ve hız kazanırken dahili kontrollerimizi de arttırmış olduk, bir
sistemdeki bilgiler diğer bir sisteme girilirken oluşabilecek hataların
engellenmesini sağladık.
iPA280, POS ve PDA’yi birleştirmesinin yanı sıra birçok
fonksiyon bulunduruyor. İlerleyen dönemde farklı uygulamalar geliştirmeyi planlıyor musunuz?
iPA280’le ilgilenmemizin sebebi bugün getirebileceği özelliklerinin
yanı sıra, gelecek dönemde de oluşabilecek ihtiyaçlarımızı karşılayabilecek bir teknolojiye sahip olması… Cihazın sahip olduğu farklı özellikleri biliyoruz. Zaman içerisinde eğer örtüşen ihtiyaçlarımız
olursa bu özellikleri kullanmayı da değerlendireceğiz.

As Philip Morris SA we are getting ready for an era of paperless accountancy. iPA280 is providing the infrastructure that will make us
reach that goal. Some of our accounting processes have become
considerably easy. This reflected itself to the life of our direct sales
staff. And it will keep reflecting. Therefore our most important gain
was getting this infrastructure. On the other hand we are working
with a system that connects machine to machine directly. Therefore we have increased our control infrastructure. While we are increasing our agility and speed, we increased the control power and
we provided the exclusion of mistakes during the input from one
machine to another.
iPA280 has many other functions other than combining
POS and PDA. Are you planning to develop different
applications for the upcoming period?
The reason we are interested in iPA280 is the technology that
might meet our demands in the next term beside its technological
properties of today. We know the different features of the device.
If we have overlapping needs in time, we will assess using those
features.

A special evening event took place in Istanbul on January 21
with more than 150 attendants including the banking and wholesale representatives. Ingenico presented two new solutions:
the iPA280, which is a POS on one side and hand terminal on
the other side combining stock follow-up and payment in one
device, and the iWL series, with world’s smallest and longest
battery time for a mobile terminal. The benefits of the project
for Philip Morris SA for stock follow-up and payment were also
shared with the attendants.

Philippe Lazare, CEO of Ingenico, who made the opening speech
of the night event stated that the Turkish market is exciting and
said the applications that are making a difference in payment
systems are put into practice in Turkey.

Cep telefonu ve operatör ürünleri dağıtımı alanında faaliyet gösteren Telpa, Türkiye genelinde 6.200 perakende satış noktasına
sahip 3.500 bayi ile Samsung, Avea, Huawei, ZTE markalarının
distribütörlüğünü yürütüyor. Yıllık 600 milyon TL ciro yapan şirket,
cep telefonu sektöründe lider konumda bulunuyor. 2006 yılında
Samsung tarafından dünyanın en başarılı distribütörü seçilen Telpa,

Telpa Pazarlama Müdürü Elif Erkun, Türkiye’deki telekom bayilerinin genelde zayıf bir finansal yapıya sahip olduklarını ve bu nedenle
bankalardan iyi oran alamadıkları için zincir mağazaların kampanyalarına cevap veremediklerini belirterek Telpa olarak bu sorunu
avantaja dönüştürdüklerini ifade ediyor. 2006’da tüm Telpa bayilerini sanal bir zincir mantığında Telpa POS şemsiyesi altında birleştirmeye karar verdiklerini ifade eden Erkun, uygulamaya geçmenin

2010 yazında yeni bir ortaklık girişimi ile Gençcell Teknoloji’yi Telpa grup şirketleri arasında katan Telpa, böylece General Mobile
Telpa, operating in cell phone and operator products distribution, is running the distribution of Samsung, Avea, Huawei and
ZTE on 6200 retail stores with 3500 vendors. The company with
an annual 600 million TL of turnover is the leader in cell phone
sector. Telpa, chosen as the most successful distributor of the
world by Samsung, started to work with Ingenico Shared POS
system to manage the sales through the rapidly growing vendor
network more effectively.
Telpa Marketing Manager Elif Erkun stated that telecommunications vendor in Turkey usually have a weak financial structure
and therefore they cannot reciprocate the promotions of chain
stores by not receiving good rates from banks and added that
as Telpa they turned this problem to their advantage. Erkun
stated that in 2006 they decided to connect all Telpa vendors
via a concept of virtual network with Telpa POS and carrying
into practice took time and added: “At that period we began
having talks with banks one by one. We managed to convince 7
banks that are in our POS. Right now we believe that we have
immensely contributed to the sector’s healthy structuring.”
Telpa, who added Genccell Teknoloji to Telpa group companies
with a new partnership enterprise in summer 2010 therefore undertook General Mobile’s R&D, design and technical service.
Erkun stated that after this structuring they wanted to add General Mobile to existing Telpa POS as multi merchant and ex-

sale by inserting the customer’s card to Telpa POS. The amount
collected is automatically transferred to Telpa’s bank account.
The vendor is purchasing the product at the same amount of
the sale. Through this project we have created satisfaction at
our vendors. They found the chance to increase their competition power by offering promotions of different credit cards of
different banks and basically both they and Telpa increased the
volume of sales.”

The project which the first installations were performed in the
last quarter of 2010. Started with the 16 applications at the first
stage and the project is planned to reach up to 30 applications. Erkun stated that they are planning to perform different
applications through Telpa POSs and added: “We are thinking
of performing incentive applications that gains points/rewards
to vendors and workers through Telpa POSs on the upcoming
period. Also, among our goals this year, is the loading Avea TL
units through Telpa POSs. Technological infrastructure of Ingenico’s terminals provide an ideal platform for offering value

cooperation with Yapi Kredi, visually impaired people can have a
control over every detail during payment with the verbal menus
and can safely make their payments. The pilot studies of the
project have been completed and Speaking POSs started to
take their places in the stores. We are talking with our main
office to take this solution, which is an accomplishment for Ingenico Turkey R&D team, to the global product portfolio. Therefore we are planning to spread this Speaking POS, specially
designed for visually impaired, to the rest of the world.”

iWL series, the newest product of Ingenico’s mobile product family, has the same dimensions with a cell phone and offers a
great ease of use for companies, restaurants and field sale companies making collection at the door. iWL series terminals, the
smallest mobile terminal of the world, can be carried easily in a
shirt pocket. Contrary to its small and light body, thanks to its battery life it can run 600 transactions in a day and it has a standby
period of 6 days. The device enabling wireless connection via
GPRS offers flexibility of uninterrupted transaction. Thanks to its
printer halving the transaction time, it saves time for both customers and the merchants.

These new mobile terminals consisting of 3 different product
group, iWL200, iWL250 and iWL280 can make contactless payments apart from smart and magnetic cards. iWL series with its
voice feature can make voice directions; iWL250 and iWL280
have color displays. Therefore, advertisement displaying feature
on desktop terminals is now carried to the mobile POSs. The
most developed product of the series, iWL280 has touch screen
and video feature.
