Description
ExpoM RF is a personal radio frequency exposure meter. Band selective measurements allow for a
detailed differentiation of the different electromagnetic field sources. The 16 bands covered by
this device include all major wireless communication and broadcasting services, including LTE.
ExpoM stands out due to its true-RMS detection method. This approach ensures modulation
insensitive measurements, allowing for meaningful cross-standard field value comparisons.
Additional features include GPS based outdoor localization and Bluetooth connectivity. The
integrated Bluetooth module allows to stream the measurement data to any Android based device
for real-time display and processing. This approach offers a high degree of flexibility effectively
combining accurate RF measurements with the versatility of a modern smartphone or tablet.
The first device of the ExpoM platform available is the ExpoM - RF radiofrequency exposure meter
consisting of the metering unit, a software utility for displaying and exporting the data together with
customized smartphone apps. Further ExpoM exposure meters will follow allowing to monitor and
measure various frequencies of electromagnetic fields. Recorded Data may be easily transferred to the
internet for public view or institutional usage.

ExpoM RF Utility Software
The Windows utility software provides all the tools required to configure ExpoM RF and report.
The measurement data is imported via USB and can be exported to Google Earth or as Excel file.
The band names and colors can be customized by the user. The ExpoM RF Utility software is free
and can be installed on multiple PCs. No license is required – Plus we provide lifetime FREE
Software Upgrade!

Google Earth
The ExpoM RF Utility software allows to export your measurements as KML file in order to be
viewed in Google Earth as 3D bar plot, revealing the spots with the strongest RF exposure.
Select the desired frequency band(s) and visualize your ExpoM RF measurements in Google Earth

Export Quality
The export quality into Google Earth can be defined – The export Quality can be set from 0 (keep
all values) to 100 (best only)
Best Only – when the train drives into the tunnel – GPS was becoming inaccurate – displaying the
best values only will not show any inaccuracy – but may skip some measurement positions
Good only – this ie a mixture between displaying the values but keeping its good position
Keep all – all measurement positions will be displayed – but this may lead into slight inaccurate

Export into Excel or CSV Format
The measurements can also be exported to a spreadsheet. The available export formats are Excel
(*.xlsx) and tab-delimited CSV.
Excel file export: the background of the data columns is automatically is set to the color defined by the user in the
ExpoM RF Utility, allowing to identify each band at first glance.

Customize Band Names
The user can rename all bands to its own desire and also change their color. The default button
will reset band names and colors back to the default settings.
The user can choose any color he likes:

Zooming and scrolling the measurement data plot
ZOOMED DATA
For a detailed analysis of the measurements, the time scale of the data plot can be changed using
the mouse wheel or shift arrow UP/DOWN keys. Scrolling is performed by dragging the plot using
the left mouse button or the arrow keys of your keyboard

The Y-Scale (field strength) is zoomed independently – possible settings are: Zoom in; Zoom out;
Autoscale Plot; Reset Zoom

Android Utility
The Bluetooth capability of ExpoM RF allows to transmit the measurements to an Android based
smartphone or tablet in real time. Connect to ExpoM RF and observe the active measurement simple and easy. You can use the app on as many Android devices as you like.

Measuring the Electromagnetic Fields in Public Transportation
During train rides the public is exposed to different fields – The constantly increasing mobile data
traffic and bandwidth (i.e. video streaming services) alerts the public.
Informing the public on the basis of field measurements allows

Measuring the Field Strength at Home and the Workplace
Measure the fields in your workplace, living room, sleeping room or any other place. Change the
measurement position and simply press the MARKER button
to highlight specific events or “flag” a change in position etc.
Date/Time and GPS position will be recorded as well.

Safety in Public Locations
Schools, Kindergartens and other sensitive locations may be monitored to see
the exposure of the class to WLAN, DECT and close-by access points.
