Club Dinner with the Mayor of Kyrenia
The Rotary Club of Kyrenia
Liman welcomed the Mayor of
Kyrenia, Mr Nidai Gongordu, to
its Club Dinner at the Dome
Hotel on Saturday Night. The
Mayor spoke warmly of the role
of organisations such as Rotary in the Community, and
praised the Club for its
contributions to Kyrenia.

Belediye Başkanı Sn Nidai Güngördü’yü 20 Eylül Cumartesi
akşamı Dome Hotel’de düzenlenen akşam yemeğinde ağırladı. Belediye Başkanı Toplumda
Rotary tarzi derneklerin rolünden bahsetti ve Kulübün Girneye verdiği katkılardan dolayı
övgülerde bulundu.

the Rotary Club of Alanya to Kyrenia on Friday September 5th. The
dinner at the Rocks Hotel was
attended by Rotarians from both
Clubs, and Club Presidents’ Malcolm Mitcheson and Zulfikar
Bozdogan exchanged Club flags.

Inner Wheel and Rotaract
We joined Inner Wheel at the Colony on Wednesday September 17th, for the start of their year. President Imren
explained that the Inner Wheel International theme for
this year is ‘Light the Path’ and the Girne Club would concentrate on assisting aspiring performing artists.
The handover of the Rotaract Club of Kyrenia Liman was
held on Monday 22nd September at Ezic Premier, and we
welcomed Ozkan Ibrahimer as the President, after Vice
President Sevim Kofali had ‘held the reins’ while he finished his military service.
Yeni dönemlerinin başlangıcında 17 Eylül’de Colony Hotel’de Inner Wheel ile buluştuk. Başkan İmren, Inner
Wheel’in bu senelik temasının ‘Yolu Aydınlat’ olduğunu
anlattı ve Girne Kulübü’nün hevesli sanatçılara yardım
edeceğinden bahsetti.
Rotaract Kulübü’nün devir teslim töreni 22 Eylül tarihinde
Eziç Premier’de gerçekleşti. Başkan Yardımcısı Sevim
Kofalı yönetimi geçici olarak elinde tuttuktan sonra askerlik görevini bitiren Başkan Özkan İbrahimer tekrar görevi
geri aldı.
Dinner at Red Lobster
Rotarians, Rotaractors, Inner Wheel and plenty of friends joined together for an informal get together at the Red Lobster
fish restaurant in Alsancak on Friday 12th September. Great food and great company means that all those who attended
are enthusiastically looking forward to the next event.

Fellowship Weekend
We finished the month of September with a weekend
away in Karpaz. We enjoyed lunch at Kantara Castle,
Dinner, bed and breakfast at Celebi Garden Hotel,
and lunch at Kemeralti Restaurant in Buyukkonuk.
Karpaz’da bir haftasonu tatili ile Eylül ayını
tamamladık. Kantara Kalesi’nde öğlen yemeğinin,
Çelebi Garden Hotel’de Akşam Yemeği, konaklama ve kahvaltının ve Büyükkonuk’taki Kemeraltı

Club News and Announcements:

Club Meeting on Wednesday October 15th is a Club Meeting with Guest Speaker: Cassie
Cleverly from the ‘Cyprus Friendship Program’ will be telling us about this programme, and will
be bringing along a couple of students to answer any questions. This is a Dinner Meeting at
the Dome Hotel, priced at 50 tl, and friends and family are welcome. Please advise Mustafa
Toros.

Friday October 24th is World Polio Day, and the ‘End Polio Now’ Campaign
mains Rotary’s biggest International Project. Rotary has asked Clubs to take part in
the ‘World’s Greatest Meal’ fundraising event, and we will be having a Dinner with
great entertainment & dancing at Ezic Premier Restaurant The price including all
local drinks is 75tl. All Rotarian fundraising for ‘End Polio Now’ is being matched
2 to 1 by the ‘Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’. Please ask Amanda for more

District Governors Visit: District 2452 Governor Khalil Alsharif will be visiting Cyprus Clubs between October 29th and November 8th. Cyprus Conference will be the 1st and 2nd November, and the North Cyprus Clubs will be meeting the DG on Tuesday 4th November.

Kıbrıs da 4 Kasım Salı günü Bölge Başkanı ile toplantı yapıyor olacak.
