The Young Photographers Award is given annually since 2010 by Haluk Soykan to encourage and
support undergraduate students of photography in Turkey. Administered by Moon and Stars Project
of The American Turkish Society, the program is made possible by a grant from Young Photographers
Award Fund established by the donor, Haluk Soykan, at Turkish Philanthropy Funds. A winner and
two honorable mentions are selected by Anne Havinga, Yousuf and Estrellita Karsh Senior Curator of
Photographs, and Karen Haas, Lane Curator of Photographs, both from the Museum of Fine Arts,
Boston. The winner is awarded $5,000 and honorable mentions each receive $2,500.
