Questions With To Be
The question word mi can be used to turn a sentence such as “I am beautiful” into the
question “am I beautiful?”
This is done by putting the word mi after the original word as a seperate word (before the
to be suffix is added). The to be suffix is then added on to the end of mi.
So, to turn a statement (such as I am beautiful) into a question (am I beautiful?) follow
these steps:
1. Start with your statement
güzelim
2. Separate the suffix from the original word
güzel im
3. Put mi in front of the suffix
güzel miyim?
(I am beautiful)
(am I beautiful?)
Note the use of the y buffer letter between mi and im to prevent the vowel clash.
