1.
The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan intends to apply parts of the National
Budget to payments under Contract for Procurement of Works for Water Supply Project Phase I
in Pule Alam City of Logar Province
2.
Afghanistan Reconstruction and Development Services (ARDS) on behalf of Afghanistan
Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Corporation (AUWSSC) now invites sealed bids from
eligible and qualified bidders for Water Supply Project Phase I in Pule Alam City of Logar
Province.
The time allowed for the completion of the whole works is:
12 Months from start date.

Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures
specified in the Public Procurement Law and Circulars, and is open to all Bidders from Eligible
Source Countries as defined in the Bidding Documents.
4.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding
documents at the Afghanistan Reconstruction and Development Services (ARDS) during office
hours 08:00 to 16:00 from Saturday to Wednesday at the address below.
5.
Qualification requirement includes:
a.
The minimum required annual volume of construction work for the successful
bidder in any of the last five years shall be 58,000,000 AFN
b.
The contractor should have executed one similar nature of construction project during
the last five years. One Contract value 35,000,000 AFN
c.
The essential equipment to be made available for the Contract by the successful
Bidder shall be:

less than 5 years experiences an equivalent nature and value.
e.
The minimum amount of liquid assets and/ or credit facilities net
of other contractual commitments of the successful Bidder shall
be 14,500,000 AFN

A complete set of bidding Documents in English may be obtained free of cost by interested
bidders by downloading the same from the ARDS website www.ards.gov.af or may obtain in CD
from the ARDS office (address given below). In case of any difficulty in downloading from
website, interested bidders may contact at the e-mail address [email protected].
7.
Bids must be delivered to the address below by August 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM. (Kabul local
time). Electronic bidding shall not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened
at the address below immediately after bid submission deadline, in the presence of bidders’
representatives who chose to attend in person.
All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 1,450,000 AFN or equivalent in a freely convertible
currency in favor of Afghanistan Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Corporation (AUWSSC).
