In celebration of our church anniversary the annual
Second Baptist Anniversary Offering is taken each May.
This year we celebrate 169 years of ministry.
To contribute, write “Anniversary Offering” on the memo line of
your check, or on the front of any envelope, and place it in the
offering plate.


Special Acknowledgement
We have appreciated Amber Reichers’ work as our College Ministry
Coordinator since last fall. This will be her last official
Sunday as she graduates from William Jewell College next week.
We also congratulate her on her new teaching position with the
Excelsior Springs School District this fall.
Thank you to Allison O’Leary who has been our Sunday Preschool
Coordinator since June, 2011. She graduates from William Jewell
next week with a degree in Education and will begin her teaching
career with Kearney High School this fall.

GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER
Worship Leaders Today
Chad Frigon and Julie have taught children’s Sunday School at Second
Baptist for the past 8 years. Chad teaches weight training at Liberty High
School and is the head football coach for the Liberty Blue Jays. Chad and
his wife, Julie, have two daughters, Josi, 10, and Jericho, 7.
Julie Frigon currently serves on the Stewardship Committee. She is a CPA
and the Chief Financial Officer at TranSystems Corporation, an engineering
and architecture firm at Crown Center. In addition, Julie serves on the Rose
Brooks Center Board of Directors, currently as the Board President and is
the treasurer for the Lewis & Clark Elementary PTA.
Mike Hasty is Director of Public Safety for the City of Gladstone, serving as
both the Police Chief and Fire Chief. He has been attending Second Baptist
Church since 1990 and has been a member since 2005.
Sue Hasty is a Senior Human Resources Generalist at Ferrellgas Sue has
been a member of Second Baptist Church since 1970. She and Mike, have a
blended family of four children and three grandchildren.
Charlie Hughes and Loretta, have been members of Second Baptist since
1980, They have four grown children. Charlie grew up at Second. He has
been the Director of Social Services at Liberty Hospital since 1981 and is on
the boards of Liberty Meals on Wheels and Clay County Senior Services. At
Second, he serves as chair of the Missions Support Committee.
Elliott Yoakum is student at Liberty Junior High where he is involved in
music and theater. He is an active member of the 2BC Student Ministry.
Elliott is the son of Rolland and Barbara Yoakum.
Getting Connected
Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street
entrance on Level 1), our Connections Team is waiting to help you
get “connected.” This may include finding a Bible study class,
showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing
the days’ activities and schedule. You may also choose simply to
enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to
know others at Second.
Additionally, along with this worship guide, please pick up a copy
of The WEEKLY: Faith Community Newsletter. This publication
shares the up-coming events and activities as well as an overview
of opportunities to serve and the most recent prayer requests.
