Kate Crummy and Alper Aydin will be the first couple to get married at The Llama Park in Wych Cross
Llamarvellous wedding
A COUPLE will have their
bags alpaca-d for their honeymoon after history is made at
a llama park.
The first wedding will be
hosted this month at the
Llama Park at Wych Cross,
Forest Row, when Alper
Aydin and Kate Crummy tie
the knot.
The venue received a wedding licence in May and the
park has been inundated
with calls from couples ever
since.
Mr Aydin, a 33-year-old
service advisor, said they
were looking for a venue with
something a bit different.
He said: “To cut a long
story short, Kate is an animal
lover and we looked everywhere to find a barn or farm
that we could get married in.”

Mr Aydin also said they
both wanted their wedding to
be more of a
summer BBQ
for them and
their friends
because neither of them
were keen on
the idea of a
stereotypical
white
wedding.
The couple
have made a
few requests for
their special day. Mr Aydin
said: “We’ve asked for a fire
pit to be put in place and
we’ve asked for bow ties to be
put on the llamas.”
He added that despite their
more casual wedding day, “all
wedding guests need to look
smart”.
The bow ties have had to be
specially-designed
to fit on the llamas long necks
and to make sure that the ani-
mals are comfortable with
wearing them.
Bobby Shuck, co-owner of
The Llama Park, said that
they wanted to expand the
services the llama park
offered to people wanting
something different.
He said: “The Llama Park
is a beautiful location with
stunning views as well as
the attraction of all the
different animals we
have here.
“The great thing
about the Llama Park
is all the people who
work there are all mad
and we’re prepared to
do anything for anybody.”

Police appeal for crash witnesses
as burning car man fights for life
A MAN was fighting for life yesterday
after he was saved from a burning car.
Police are now appealing for
witnesses after two BMWs were in
collision on the A27 Lewes Road in
Polegate on Saturday.
The 26-year-old from London was
pulled from his burning BMW 520 after
the crash.
He was flown by air ambulance to St
George’s Hospital, Tooting, with life
threatening injuries where he was said to
be in a critical condition.
Emergency services were called at
7.47am near to the junction of Gainsborough Lane, where the man’s black BMW
was travelling east when it collided with a
black BMW 320 travelling west.
The impact caused the BMW 520 to
burst into flames.
The driver of the BMW 320, a 45-yearold man from Eastbourne, suffered minor
injuries and his passenger, a man aged 39
also from Eastbourne, suffered a serious
back injury. Both were taken to the Royal
Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
The driver was released from hospital
but his passenger remained there yesterday in a stable condition.
The road was closed for vehicle recovery and forensic collision investigation
before being re-opened at 1.15pm.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is

A BRAND new underpass is now
open to pedestrians.
The Chapel Path underpass in
Hastings links the old Bancroft
Path and Chapel Path, providing
a safe crossing point for
pedestrians.
The Woodsgate Park Bridge in
Hastings has also been opened,
replacing the old structure.
The county council says people
are happy with the new
facilities. An underpass was
chosen instead of a surface
crossing to be safer for children
with less impact on traffic.
