2008 Þubatý'nda bir sanatçý inisiyatifi olarak baþlattýðýmýz Barýþ Sanatçýlarý
Uluslararasý Sanat Hareketi Projesi kapsamýnda ilk duraðýmýz; geniþ kültürel,
mozaiði ile uygarlýk tarihinin eski ana karalarýný birbirine baðlayan bir dünya kenti;
ÝSTANBUL…
“BARIÞ için SANAT” temasý üzerine, resim, heykel, fotoðraf, video, yerleþtirme,
performans sanat disiplinlerindeki eserlerden oluþan etkinliðe 25 ülkeden 66 sanatçý
katýlýyor. Sergiler, video ve performans gösterilerinden oluþan etkinlik programý;
Dolmabahçe Sanat Galerisi, Ýstanbul Fotoðrafevi, Ýstanbul Fotoðraf Merkezi
olmak üzere üç ayrý sanat mekanýnda 26 Eylül 2009 tarihinde baþlayarak,
15 Ekim 2009'da sona erecektir.
”BARIÞ ÝÇÝN SANAT”
Yaþamý sanata adanmýþ her sanatçý bir “Barýþ Sanatçýsý” dýr... Sanat; barýþa giden
yollarýn bir kesiþme noktasýdýr, aydýnlýk yüzüdür. Isýtan, renklendiren, hissettiren,
düþündüren , sorgulayandýr. Ýçsellik ve dýþ dünya arasýndaki dengelerin, iletiþimin
yorumlandýðý, irdelendiði ve estetiksel çözümler ile kucaklaþtýðý bir alandýr.
Barýþ, bizim yaþamýn armonisi olarak düþündüðümüz bir kavramdýr... Sanat, güzeli,
armoniyi, barýþý arar. Barýþ ve sanat, bireyleri ve toplumlarý armoniye, özgürlüðe
götürür. Sanat barýþta, barýþ ise sanat iledir. Bu iki kavram öylesine iç içedir.
Dünyanýn deðiþik ülkelerinden, farklý kültürlerden gelen bizler, “Barýþ için Sanat”
kavramýnda birleþtik ve bu projenin ilk adýmýný Istanbul'da gerçekleþtiriyoruz.
Kültürlerarasý, uygarlýklararasý, dostluk, kardeþlik ve barýþýn bir düþ olmadýðýný,
aksine, sanatçý ve insan olmanýn gereði ve gerçeði olduðunu savunuyoruz. Sanal
ortamlarda baþlayan sanat dostluklarýmýz, barýþ'a olan tutkumuz ile “Barýþ Sanatçýlarý”
adý altýnda gerçek sanat hareketlerine dönüþüyor...
Ýstanbul Boðazý'ndan hareket eden bu " Barýþ Gemisi’ni " , dünya çevresinden daha
çok barýþ sanatçýlarýnýn katýlýmý ile bir "Sanat ve Barýþ Filo’su" haline getirmek
istiyoruz. Insiyatifimizi desteklemek isteyen her kiþi ve kuruma “hoþ geldin !“ diyoruz.
BARIÞ SANATÇILARI HAREKETÝ 'nde, savaþ karþýtý yaklaþým ile üretilen yapýtlarda;
sevgi, dostluk, dayanýþma, insan haklarý, kültürlerarasý çoðulcu iletiþim, saygý ve
hoþgörü kavramlarýnýn yanýsýra, savaþ ve þiddetin yokediciliði, anlamsýzlýðý ve
“ BARIÞ ÝÇÝN SANAT ” sergileniyor…

WORLDWIDE - ARTISTS FOR PEACE
INTERNATIONAL ART ACTION - ISTANBUL 2009
As an artist initiative, “ The Worldwide Artists For Peace International Art Action Project”
has been created in February 2008. ÝSTANBUL, a world city, connecting two old
continents with its wide cultural mosaics, has been chosen as the first art action place.
66 Artists from 25 countries will take part in the first Art Action for Peace, involving
7 visual art disciplines; painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation, digital
and performing arts. The action schedule, consisting of visual fine arts exhibitions, video
and performance shows at three different art places; Dolmabahçe Art Gallery, Istanbul
Photography House, Istanbul Photography Center. The Art Action will begin on
26th of September 2009 and end 15th of October 2009.
”ART FOR PEACE”
Each artist is a “Peace - Artist” who devotes oneself to art…
Art is the conjunction point of the paths opening to “The World Peace” and the
luminous face of the peace... Art lets heat, color, feel, think and inquire. It is an
atmosphere, where the balance and communication between internal and external
worlds will be scrutinized and commented within the aesthetic solutions can be
embraced. The Peace is a concept which we imagine as a harmony of life...
The Art , looks for beauty, harmony and brings the human-being towards freedom.
The ART and PEACE are intensively one within the other.
Peace is with art, ART is in PEACE!!…
Having been originated from different cultures and countries, we unified our
experiences on the concept of “ART for PEACE” to realize the first step of this project
in Istanbul. "Artists for Peace" argue; to have friendship, brother-sisterhood and
peace between cultures and to create the peace will not be just a dream, but
instead, a necessity and reality of being an artist and human. Our action is a
concrete and real indicator of our togetherness, which started at virtual domain.
We insist on upgrading this “Ship of Peace”, which will depart from Istanbul
Bosphorus , to a “Fleet of Art&Peace”, by partic ipating more "Artists for Peace" from
all over the world and we say “ welcome ! ” to everyone and every institution, who
wants to support our initiative.
ARTISTS FOR PEACE ART ACTION exhibit the art works, created in active attitude
against the destruction and nonsense of violence and war. The action presents by
emphasizing the necessity of love, friendship, solidarity, human rights, pluralistic
communication between different cultures, respect and tolerance to each other and
ART FOR PEACE !!!
We say ; NO to VIOLENCE and WAR!!!... YES to ART and PEACE !!!...

they represent life in all the levels, this spirit looks for the freedom
and peace of the immortal, the maximum level of the peace of
mind.

Proje güç ve güçten yoksunluk
arasindaki iliskiyi arastirirken, eski
kardeslerin býçaklý öyküsünü
anlatýyor. Performansýn amacý fiziksel ve psisik sinirlara dek kamu oyunda
sorgulanacak olan savasin paradoksunu yalin bir oyunla sergilemek.
Bedenlerimizi siyasal yapýnýn tamamen kana bulanmýþ oldugunu göstermek
için kullaniyoruz.
In the project Conflict, the two performers carry out the same game, but they
instead place emphasis on the consciousness of the other one, without a
possibility to control his body and his consciousness.
Exploring the relationship between power and the lack of power, the project
speaks about the knify history of former brothers. The aim of the project is to
present the paradox of war though simple game that will be questioned in public
up to its physical and psychic limits. We are using our bodies to show that the
political body is literally written in blood.

interdisciplinary research and a multimedia
recreation/performance portraying the
search for the long vanished Central European world and the symptoms of it's
destroyed urbanity. Installation is made of 22 photo slides, 4 videos, and body
that lies on the ground.

Ölüm. Bu perspektifte “belirleyici” sözcükler, týpký
bir Kalaþnikof kadar ölümün ayrýcalýklý etkisine

dýþlamaya deðiniyor.
“ANCHE le PAROLE UCCIDONO” “Words also Kill”
faces the problem of the use of words. Through the visual poetry introduces a
message that has two interpretations: war and death. The "decisional” word in
this perspective has prerogative of death as much as a
Kalashnikov can have.
“The work itself refers to the violence, the torture and the physical elimination.”

There is a transformation power in the frequency
of human voice and in the sounds of things. For
me the form is the essence. My goal is to capture the human feelings inside their
voice to create artworks and forms through the different sounds from Peace.

üzerinde gerçekleþtirdiði multi-medya
çalýþmasýyla, iþte bu geleneðe mizahi bir yaklaþýmla eklenir. Ýsa`ya ihanet
edecek olan havari Yahuda`nýn kafasýnda dolaþan `gerçek/real` ýþýðý, Ýsa`nin
bardaðýna bira olarak yansýr…
All the wars are consisted of the compulsory reflections of the ones, who have
war ambition inside themselves. Even some people claim that the reality requires
wars. Though the reality is an illusion curtain with above and under it.

Selçuk Duran is appended to this tradition with a humorous approach in his
multimedia work about the same named painting of Emile Nolde. The real light
roaming in the head of Apostel Juda, who will be unfaithfull to Jesus, is being
reflected to the beer cup of Jesus...

oluþan bir oyunla, suyun yüzeyinde sayýsýz yansýmalarýn dansýyla
oluþturuyor. Görüntüler ve sesler birbirleriyle kaynaþýyor ve
izleyenleri melankolik meditatif bir ruh haline sürüklüyor.
Bir yanda güz yapraklarý birer birer kývrýmlarla dingin ve çizgesel
yörüngelerinde düþerken, "Göl Görüntüleri" #3, çýrpýntýlý

The "lake views (seeblick) #1, #2, #4, #5" develops their poetic charm
through a game from light and shadows, a dance of innumerable
reflections on the water-surface. Pictures and sound merge and put the
observer into a diffuse melancholy-meditative mood.

undulations, while single autumn leaves take their course, unflustered

“Kayýp Kent”in metin kýsmý, orada oturanlarýn ve gezenlerin
duygularýna yanýt veren psikedelik bir kent görünümü düþüncesine
dayanýyor. Gezenlerin düþüncelerinde bir kaygý olduðunda kent
büyüyor.
Video kýsmý ise, izleyicileri sürükleyen çevresiyle, tuðla yapýlardan
oluþan bir sokaðýn ve parkýn dijital manipüle edilmiþ sahnesini
göstermektedir.

Lost City's text part suppose the idea of an psychidelic cityscape
answering to the emotions of its citizen or a visitor. If there is anxiety in
visitor´s mind, the city enlarges.The video part shows a digital
manipulated street scenery of a brickstone lane and a parksidelike
surrounding through which the spectator is driven.
The images are underlyed with a driving horroresk laughter.

The Place of Safety” as any other video film of this collection presents to
the viewer an issue in its pretitle section concerning human beings drive
away from death and horror towards eternal life and freedom of all
sorrow, followed by the beautiful images of cherry blossom´s branches.

This movie is a peek into the artist's sketchbooks
dated 1999-2008. There is no chronological order to
the selected drawings. The music is the artist's first
attempt at mixing real instruments with digital ones.
Kids in conflict zones, their aspiration for change, peace and a better future. It
deals with issues of identity segregation and paranoia...
